As I said before, Lens will experience a decrease in performance. and yes, in the end Lens' ranking has been taken over by Marseille and shifted by AS Monaco. Lens has had unsatisfactory results in its last four matches, with two defeats and two draws. This decline could have an impact on their next matches.

Meanwhile, Marseille has the potential to reduce the difference in points with the top standings. the reason is, Marseille still has one meeting with PSG at the Orange Velodrome, their own headquarters. although it is difficult to topple PSG, especially if PSG play at full strength. however, Igor Tudor's squad will play all out to get full points in the match against PSG later. conversely, PSG will not let Marseille and Monaco shift their ranking at the top of the Ligue 1 standings. Although PSG is in a downward trend phase, PSG is still too strong for its competitors in Ligue 1.
I don't think Lens is a team that can really get tough competition with PSG even though they have beaten PSG this season. I admit PSG have not been in their best form lately. But PSG are still few points ahead of their rivals which makes me believe they are still safe to lead Ligue 1 for longer. I consider PSG to be the most potential title-winning team this season, but it seems PSG has extra focus on the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

I'm looking forward to that match and I hope both teams put out a good performance. PSG may find it difficult to win the first leg in the absence of the injured Mbappe, but the performances of Messi and Neymar can to be expected.
Well the ligue 1 has never been so competitive like this , usually psg dominated the league with more than 10 points away from the 2nd place , it's only 5 points gap between pag and marseille at the second and 7 points from the 3rd place monaco then 8 points at 4th for lens.

Everyone wishing psg to not win the league this season for sure. We want something different.
i mean not so long ago they lost it to Lille, the difference now is that they have way better players in their squad but still they're not far in the lead, but i think it's mostly because of injuries of their stars, they were destroying french teams at the beginning.

I know it sounds like something that is a bit weird and not totally making any sense, but that is the situation we are in right now, they are basically at the top just because other teams not being good at all
That's the problematic of leagues other than EPL and Serie A mainly. La Liga has a duo that control it, Bundesliga has exclusively Bayern and Ligue 1 almost exclusively PSG too.
The problem is essentially financial, since these teams have more money and more spending abilities than the other teams. However, even the other teams took responsibility for what happens to them! They cannot expect to get a trophy in their league when they are losing points easily. Lille for example missed it badly after they won the title. Monaco is getting weaker than previously. Marseille are unstable. Lens played good and resisted but they started throwing points also, now they are 4th!

I think the biggest luck PSG has this season has been teams that are close to them end up losing games that they shouldn't lose at all.

I know it sounds like something that is a bit weird and not totally making any sense, but that is the situation we are in right now, they are basically at the top just because other teams not being good at all, and that is not really understandable to me because if Lens or Marseille won a few more games they would have been a lot closer, or even be at the top and I do not mean like beating each other or PSG, they even beat PSG, but then they go ahead and lose to Lyon, which is why they are not at the top right now, because they lose points in games they should win.

Yesterday we watched lyon-lens in the last match. We can say that Lens slowly started to break away from the championship race with the draws and defeats in the last 4 weeks. Yesterday, he lost 3 more points in this important match and fell 8 points behind PSG. Lens, who spent the week in which PSG was defeated, must now put an end to the point losses. Otherwise I don't think this point difference will close. Lens didn't play badly, but it must be said that he couldn't evaluate the positions he found.

Yes, basically Lens can still play well even though Lens is playing away but unfortunately, Lens is difficult to convert every opportunity it gets to convert into a goal. Maybe Lens is currently in a stalemate, because supposedly with gameplay like that, Lens should still be able to win or maybe draw.
But yes, after all, Lyon is indeed not a team that Lens can easily beat, so this home match made Lyon gain the advantage so that they finally won and managed to beat Lens.
They are actually a bit better in terms of chances and possession but it is what you say. they are very difficult to convert opportunities into goals that make them have to return to achieve less than optimal results.
With 4 games that haven't gone well for them at the moment they have been knocked down to 4th place which is a real shame for Lens.

Clubs in Ligue 1 have a problem with consistency, if we follow that then we will see a lot of clubs here are still often erratic, sometimes they perform well and sideline but they are also often unpredictable by performing not as expected. This makes it difficult for them to catch the current leader of the standings. I have noted several times that clubs like Lens, Marseille have had a golden opportunity to be able to match points or even shift Paris Saint-Germain from the top of the standings. But at the same time, while Paris Saint-Germain dropped points they followed suit by dropping points as well.
Did you notice that PSG announced the squad for their match against Bayern Munich? The list of names includes Mbappe and Messi. I hope they will play in the match. If they play, PSG's chances of victory will be much higher.
Wow, I just saw this and indeed it's not only Mbappe, but Messi and Verrati are also having problems. Can a healing plan that takes 3 weeks be enforced now?
This could be good news actually but at the club's stake I would probably be at Bayern even if their star players were pushed.
But at least this is not monotonous because this match will obviously be very exciting to watch if PSG play with a full squad.

League 1 as a business is much worse than the Premier League and no sheikhs and artificial infusions of money can change this. As far as I heard, tickets for League 1 games are several times cheaper than for Premier League games, and everyone knows that TV rights to show EPL games bring record amounts. League 1 needs to develop as a business, then over time they will be able to reach the level of the EPL, all other artificial methods are nonsense.

I think it's more about quality. Before EPL got all their money they attracted a lot of quality and wanted to play very good football. Exciting football. Plus a lot of people everywhere they wanted to show it spoke English. I think English as a language was the key secret.

French football outside the big teams is nowhere as good as Italian or Spanish or English, so it needs to change that first, at least this is how I see it.
~

It seems to me that the main reasons are economic. In England, the best conditions for football as a business have been created (even if there is a lot of dirty money there now), while in France (maybe something has changed there since Hollande, I don’t know) football (and other business) are literally strangled. And again, look at Italy - they once dominated, but for a long time their economy has been stagnating and they are dying out. In Spain the situation is slightly better but there only the top clubs remain at the top (but at the same time Barcelona is close to bankruptcy lol).

Lens is now far from the leadership seat.  When they lost to Lyon, they dropped to fourth place with bad results one after the other.  A few weeks ago, they had championship chances.  When there is a loss of points in a row like this, even going to the European cups, let alone the championship in the league, can be in great danger.  He is currently following Marseille Psg.  I hope they don't suffer the same end.

Of course with Mbappe and Messi in the roster, their chances are extraordinarily higher than roster without them. Even if only one of them will play, PSG is getting much more ahead. Neymar alone can't be too much of a force against Bayern Munich. But I saw some drama about him and the roster. I saw that things got mixed up. After the Monaco match, the dressing room was mixed as the Mirror newspaper reported. Because neymar had an argument with his teammates. We already knew from the beginning of the season that they couldn't agree and there was a problem in the team. This time, Mirror wrote that messi and neymar wanted to leave. Neymar has a contract until 2025, but I don't think he will stay anymore. He also has been arguing with Vitinha and Ekitike by the way. I have mixed feelings about PSG. Can be great and not great at the same time. Same thing for their future too.

Match between Strasbourg and angers, Strasbourg are miles away from a solid team after falling to defeats after wins recently. Angers are worse than Strasbourg recently as they have suffered consecutiv defeats. Strasbourg now welcome Angers to the Stade de la Meinau for the French Ligue 1 match. Strasbourg enter this match following a 2-0 defeat against Lille and Angers drew 1-1 against AJ Auxerre. A win for either side is crucial for their battle for survival from relegation. Angers are the poorest team in the division. They lie in 20th with 10 points from 23 matches. They have 2 wins, 4 draws and 17 defeats this season. Away from home, they have 1 win, 2 draws and 8 losses in all 11 away matches this season. ngers SCO did not win any of their last five matches in Ligue 1 and they won one away game. Strasbourg won four times in their past 16 meetings with Angers SCO. With the look of event that has taken place before Strasbourg is expected to defeat Angers.

Lens defense was simply bad against Lyon. That was one of the main factors they got a loss in this game by 2-1.

Lacazette was able to score the first goal very easily. I really don't understand how four players there couldn't prevent the ball going through and reaching him. It was so easy for Lacazette to finish it up with a goal after. Machado's answer was really amazing by the way. The second goal of Lyon was also due to a defensive mistake I'm afraid. Lens had another big chance to equalize the score later but Fofana's shot was saved by Lopes incredibly. Lens didn't deserve get points in this game surely.

Olympique Lyonnais is in good form in Ligue 1 and they won four away games. Auxerre won two times in their past 16 meetings with Olympique Lyonnais. Hearing that they lost to Lyon yesterday made me sad. Recently, Lens has struggled, recording a winless streak and a string of draws previous to yesterday's result. The team is now 8 points behind PSG and will likely need to work harder to win the championship. While Lens' performance was not bad overall, they did waste a number of opportunities that should have resulted in goals. I thought the team's performance level would allow them to at least draw the match, but they appear to be in a rut at the moment. Even still, Lyon is an absolute monster, particularly considering the home field advantage. Although Lens's current position at the table's fourth-to-last rank is disappointing, it's acceptable for the time being.

One of the matches with unexpected results this week is Lorient. They lost to Nantes which I think actually Lorient should be able to win in this game. However, Lorient's recent poor performance has also had a huge impact on this match, so they have to go home empty-handed. A single goal from Blass in the 66th minute was decisive for Nantes' victory and succeeded in making Lorient feel disappointed.
The single score by Ludovic Blas made in that match was quite good, but I'm not surprised that Nantes was able to win against Lorient, due to the fact that in head to head at home Nantes in the past they are also unbeaten against Lorient. By not gain points in that match, Lorient can't get closer to a better position in league for a while. Also I think later in the remaining matches Lorient will continue bad trend, because every season they are almost closer always with zone relegation.

Lens has long since given way to Marseille and Monaco, although they have fewer games lost. Only three, same as PSG, but like you said, they have more draws and have been losing points to outsiders recently. I think they will have a hard time scoring points now to get ahead of Marseille and Monaco again. The main thing is to stop losing so they don't get relegated from the European zone.
Yes, Lens is slowly moving away from competition for the title, from 4 total matches they lost 10 very valuable points. Their point difference with the leaders of the standings is now 8, and even though it is 8 points away, in Ligue 1 it will be very difficult to approach, especially if Paris Saint Germain has the strength of luxury. It's really unfortunate when you see them declining when they should be able to compete even tighter.
The race is getting very interesting,  lens started very well with good performance but they are unable to maintain their performance after the good effort they made . The struggle of lens in performance will be advantage for PSG because then it was as if lens is tough to challenge PSG.
