It looks like PSG are still trying to sign Paul Pogba. I haven't heard anything about how much money PSG will offer for him. His contract runs until 2022. If PSG become patient and wait for one more year, they can buy him as a free agent. But then, there could be some other clubs also like Juventus which would be willing to sign him.

PSG management has a lot of money, they can take Pogba in the team if they want. PSG's squad has a lot of star strikers. Neymar Di Maria and Mbappe, whose salaries are very high. They have Ramos and Donnarumma in the team. Experienced goalkeepers and defenders will make their defense stronger. Now with a star midfielder like Pogba in the team they can build a fully stable team.

Genoa finally decided not to go to Orleans to face PSG in the prestigious test that should have empowered their summer.
Too high the risk of Covid infection, given the numerous cases that are recorded daily in France and that recently have also affected several elements of the group of PSG.

Bringing back the thread for discussing an interesting friendly game between Paris Saint Germain and the Italians of Genoa. The Rossoblù left the Neustift retreat to fly to Orleans, where they are awaited by the PSG battleship. Genoa's lucky because no one of the new dream team is gonna play.
Mbappé has just returned from vacation, while Neymar, Marquinhos, Di Maria, Paredes, Verratti and Donnarumma are still enjoying a well-deserved rest after playing the Copa America and European Championship. The only one we could see on the pitch is actually Sergio Ramos.
If I have to bet I would say 2-1 or 3-1 for PSG.
@Karatma1 you missed one player soon to be theirs Pogba, and even if they’re missing their regular starters they’re yet a strong team. Also I’m not sure how that Italian side plays, but I’m sure PSG will play for a win hence i predict a scoreline of 2 - 0.
Is that deal done? I mean I know its not done in confirmation and signed contracts etc etc, but I was just asking is it done behind closed doors already? Are simply just waiting for confirmation at this point? It is not really something I am expecting at this moment because Pogba's mom made a statement about him not going to PSG and she didn't want him there, then a lot of fans of PSG put up fliers and so forth that said "listen to your mother and don't come here" as well.

Knowing how Pogba is a very emotional player and not really a straight in the head kind of guy, I am pretty sure that he may end up not going there because fans said they didn't want him there, or even if he goes, if there is a clash between him and the fans dude may act like a child and not play as well. I think PSG made some awesome transfers this year, Pogba may not be one of those people.

"French top tier reduced to 18 teams from 2023/24 season"

I saw this news a while ago. What do you think about this decision? Many French football experts say this is a very good decision for French football. I think it too. 18 teams are enough. Let's see what happens in the future.

This means that the quality of the league will raise with more better teams.French league isnt the best currently with only 4-6 good teams currently.Other teams are just punching bags and thats why the league has decided to reduce the league to 18 teams. But still a big number of clubs in the league

Ligue 1 lags far behind the Premier League and La Liga. There are many good and renowned teams in the Premier League. Many teams fight for the title. There are many good teams in La Liga, but most of the season Real Madrid or Barcelona won the title, Atletico Madrid has won the title several times, with Barcelona or Real Madrid dominate the ligue most of the time. Ligue 1 teams are far behind from them.

I personally have no problem about how many teams are in Ligue 1 and 2 and also, in the article it says that Ligue 2 should also reduce the number of teams to 18. Maybe this has the aim of getting a longer rest period, considering the difference between 18 and 20 teams there are only on the number of rounds 34 and 84 rounds, maybe it is the aim to have better match breaks to keep every player fit. Well, whatever the decision when there are a lot of votes in favor I think it's a good decision, because after all Ligue 1 previously only had 18 teams and then expanded to 20.
It is not the number of teams that matters, but their quality. I know that the reduction in the number of teams can be caused in different championships by the weak financial condition of the clubs, but here the reason is more likely precisely in the decrease in the number of rounds. After all, the top clubs, in addition to the championship, have European Cup matches, and often this leads to overwork of players if the club does not have strong players on the bench.

For Ligue 1, I find this as an excellent news. I prefer seeing less teams in Ligue 1, and 2 obviously, which means having a concentration of good players in less teams which might make the league more competitive.

@snipe it was a poor game from Nantes because there was no intent to proceed ahead, but luckily the away goals factor worked for them. Furthermore the answer to their question is simple, because I see them sitting in the bottom top 3, and eventually being relegated.
Now if Nantes survived relegation in 2021/2022 then it will be relegated with 3 other teams in 2022/2023, of course assuming they will stay playing badly.

Last night's relegation match between Nantes - Toulouse was won by Toulouse but even so, Nantes still have the right to advance to Ligue 1 next season on aggregate. I thought and hoped that Nantes would still win in the second leg last night, but it looks like they don't have that target and even Nantes' goal attempts and shots on goal are very low. If I look at the performance from the first and second legs, I think Toulouse deserves a chance to play in Ligue 1 but unfortunately, they are still not lucky even though Nantes are playing badly.
Totally forgot about the game, didn't pay attention about it even in bookies.. Nantes escaped from relegation with 2-2 aggregation thanks to scoring 2 goals away! That was a weak performance imo and with such bad results I wonder how they could resist in the next season.

Nantes didn't surprise me and got a huge advantage before the rematch. To be honest, I thought that Nantes would draw with Toulouse in the first leg and finish the job in the rematch. But it seems like they already ended their opponent in the first leg away. But it's still too early to say things for certain. Let's just wait and see.
Nantes is in good form in the last 7-8 matches they won most of them . This win isnt a suprise at all . But i hoped toulouse would put more of an effort
Nantes now has a good result for the rematch soon. They just need to draw at least at home and i think that isnt hard if something dosent go horrible wrong at start

yeah, it is not all over, but Nantes is close to having another Ligue1 season
expected more from Toulouse last night, but they did not delivered, will think about backing them in re-match as well, but clearly doubt that they could kick-out Nantes after first match

fast goal by Blas changed complete dynamics and could prove that 10 minutes was enough for Nantes to secure and avoid relegation

I expect a very even game today. Touluse is a pretty good team, they pose a threat to any opponent in their stadium. Nantes fought bravely to stay at Ligue 1 at the end of the season and were really close to that after 4 wins in a row. Usually a lot of goals are scored in matches both teams and I hope that the stake of the match will not make it any different today. I bet over 2.5 goals
Congratulations on your win as the final score was 1-2 for Nantes win. I personally only believe that Nantes, who have had tough competition before in Ligue 1, are certainly better prepared than Toulouse in Ligue 2. So it's no wonder that even though this is an away game I still bet on Nantes @2.85, but there are still leg 2 next and even so I'm still very confident that Nantes will still be in Ligue 1 next season.

Toulouse is playing Nantes tonight, for a Ligue1 spot next season
it is played on two games, and Nantes is a bit better team, since they were Ligue1 team this season, but Toulouse is ready to kick them out

it is good for a home win tonight, and I will put this on my list, especially since @2.8 is worth the risk, IMO, Nantes will have their chance at home, to fight back, but I think that Toulouse will see Ligue1 next season

I'd definitely back the home team for the first leg, but Nantes will be more desperate to go back up I guess though they may feel if they don't make it then they will get stuck, but you're right at those odds it seems worth to back Toulouse.

Do you know if there are any spots other than Ligue 1 for the new Conference league? Through a different cup route maybe? I'm trying to learn more about it as the prize money seems attractive for small clubs.
