Lyon got a red card 15 minutes into the first half against Lorient. And Lorient scored 5 minutes later. The first half ended with Lyon losing. I literally thought the game was a losing game already for Lyon. But, Lyon equalize the match 5 minutes into the second half. And the match ended in 1-1 draw. Although, they later got 2 more yellow cards. Lyon indeed performed well. But they have played 8 matches, but only won 3. I think they have to work on their performance. While, Lorient has also won 3 matches, but currently at the 4th position on the standings.
A good result for PSG in fact to see them both dropping 2 points each Wink
Now the difference between PSG and the others is 10 points without considering the missing games of the actual and previous rounds.. OM and Lens is a tough game and we might see further points drop!

Lille performance this season has been much different from that of Lille who won the title last season, since Lille was left by the coach who led them to Ligue 1 champions, namely Christophe Galtier at the end of last season, Lille performances have continued to decline and make them now in 14th position with only two win from 7 games, in my opinion if lille performance this season doesn't improve, it's not impossible that they will end this season in the relegation zone.

Yup, I actually didn't really listen to the French league before Messi's arrival to PSG. I only know that PSG are second and Lille are champions. But if you look at Lille's line-up it seems they haven't changed much. They have won the Trophée des Champions with a new coach. But, I look at Jocelyn Gourvennec profile the new Lille manager, he's actually been coaching since 2008.

Has he not been able to make Lille better?
Lille is shocking champion of last season but still they are in current season their start was not good after 8 matches just 11 points and at 8th spot is clearly saying their all story of this season hopefully they will do some better in next half of season if they want to stay at top of French Ligue which is very tough for now because few other teams also doing very good specially Marseille who is second and have some good results.

Today again PSG is struggling to score goals as they are playing against Montpellier with Neymar De Maria and Mbappe they have very low scoring shots which is not good for them as they need to win some good number of trophies in this season.

PSG have won their 8th league game too against Montpellier by 2-0. Gueye and Draxler scored the goals. There was a more balanced game in the second half but Montpellier couldn't benefit from this. PSG are already aware that they are going to have a very comfortable season and I don't have an idea about even how many win streak they will have the most. They are and must be fully focused on the Champions League now. Because this could be their biggest chance to make it to the title while having Mbappe-Messi-Neymar trio.

Maybe something will change, but I have not yet seen any advantages from this trio, on the contrary, only tension. And by the way, PSG won today quite confidently despite the fact that Messi did not play, I wonder how soon he will heal his knee injury and will we see him in the upcoming Champions League match?

Paris Saint-Germain win without their stars scoring, they win without Messi. Even if they don't score many goals, they still win, they always win in every way. They won all 8 matches. Ligue 1 is played as if it were played, it is clear who will win in the end. Last year Lille did a great job as being the champion. It looks like this cannot be repeated. Paris Saint-Germain will continue to embargo the French league. It sometimes bored me, I was excited when Messi come but right now Ligue 1 is just an ordinary league for me.

In a statement, PSG confirmed Lionel Messi will not play against Montpellier on Saturday due to an injury. Messi ruled out playing another match in 4 weeks for PSG. He should have taken time off to treat the injury, and PSG is doing the right thing by being extra careful and not rushing to things. All good things come to those who wait. Therefore Messi should wait more for the celebration of his first goal at PSG.

I didnt see Messi get injured on the field against an opponent. Maybe thats why Pochetino subed him in the match before.
This is a big minus for PSG and they will have to play without him in the next couple of weeks. But with how many good players they have i dont think it will be a problem for them

Messi's injury is not a problem for PSG even they want to keep Messi wanting to recover after suffering his knee injury I think this is to make messi's health even more perfect.
Well for PSG this is not a problem for one of the injured players because they have a lot of reserves because I have no doubt that Pochettino will not be bothered even if he is ready with other talented players.
But well, in the domestic league, it is still consistent with the victory, it just needs more extra when in the UCL because the opponent is so tough.
with a squad that incidentally is a capable player, Mauricio Pochettino will not be too bothered by it considering that there are still some very competent names on the bench.
there are several names that will indeed benefit when he is also injured, for example, such as Achraf Hakimi and Icardi who are indeed up to now even though for the current season they still have to take turns even on the bench, but their performance is quite good.
but when i read this news i was actually interested in something, because as long as i know the world of football i just heard that messi was injured because i had never heard of it before when he was in barcelona.
Is it true that messi's age has become a problem for his body now?

PSG is winning the game but their performance for me is not satisfactory  at all, Neymar and Mbappe have been awful in front of goal so far especially Neymar who seems to be totally out of form. If they meet Manchester city with in this current form they are in, Pep will have them for breakfast. Ander Herrera has been amazing in the midfield with all the passes he has made. Kudos to Draxler for securing the lead.

PSG won in the end 2:0 Draxler scored probobly the fastest goal as come into the game as a sub. But PSG looked really bad to me i think Montpellier had a chance in this match to get a draw and not lose. PSG still cant destroy any club. They just go on the field and do their job with 1 or 2 goals difference

PSG are hosting Montpellier tomorrow night. PSG have a win streak of 7 matches so far. And they will want to maintain this superb statistics. However, I also saw that they didn't get easy wins in their last matches. Messi is injured but he is not the problem. It is also attracting that PSG demolished Montpellier in their last 4 home matches (by scores like 4-0, 5-0, 5-1 and 4-0). As Montpellier are not doing very well, PSG shouldn't have much problem on winning this one.
Honestly Montpellier is not in a condition to win against PSG at all. I always look for games when PSG will finally lose. We all know that they can't end the league with pure wins, not that it is impossible but I am pretty sure it has never been done before. This is why I believe one day PSG will have a loss. However is this that game? I do not think so, I believe PSG will make it 8 in a row with this game. The odds are not even that good anymore so I do not think I will wager on this game. However they have been very close to being tied or even lose, it is really their luck that helped them win the last two games so nobody knows what may happen.

Week 8 of the French League, no big match.
Yeah but there is close ones that might have surprises like Lyon and Lorient, or OM and Lens. For PSG, they will lack the service of Messi due to his injury, their opponent Montpellier isn't at its best shape anyway.
Lille in the other hand and as DU18 mentioned, isn't fine at all comparing to the last season so ending in an european league spot isn't guaranteed for them unless they make some modifications within the team.

Matchday 8

1. Saint-Etienne vs Nice
2. Strasbourg vs Lille
3. Lyon vs Lorient
4. PSG vs Montpellier
5. Bordeaux vs Rennes
6. Reims vs Nantes
7. Brest vs Metz
8. Troyes vs Angers
9. Clermont vs Monaco
10. Marseille vs Lens

Week 8 of the French League, no big match. This is advantageous for PSG and Lille who will appear in the UCL next week.
I was surprised with Lille, they are at number 14 in the provisional rankings. If I'm not mistaken they were the defending champions of the French League last season.

Your analysis are right and correct, but my concern right now is that, Neymar's not at he's best.
I was wondering what's wrong, since the arrival of Lionel Messi.
Hopefully this match is won with two goals or more since the visitors are actually doing badly this period.
Mbappe should be on the scoreboard today having been in a fine form from the very beginning.
Well, PSG will still win in this match but one note that I believe, PSG will still not make a win with clean sheets. In fact, the team below him in the standings only has a lower number of goals conceded than PSG and that means, PSG's defense is still not strong. Also, although PSG have many star players but in reality so far PSG's attack and PSG's defense can still be said to be weak, and I hope PSG can win by a landslide and not win by luck.

You are right. Despite having many star players in the PSG, the PSG team is yet to be called strong. Because so far they have not been able to show us a stable and strong performance as a team. This is the failure of the coach. The coach is not able to use the players in the right place and in the right way. The players were very important players in their previous team, but when they come to PSG, they are performing poorly.

As a substitute for Messi, there is Icardi. He is talented enough. And he has done quite well in the past on the PSG team. At the same time, Di Maria will play in the next match. So even if Mesi does not play in the next match, PSG will not have any big problem. But I want to see Ramos in the PSG squad. No one is sure when he will be a regular in the PSG team.
Icardi as a substitute but he always scores goals at the end of the game means he is a sign of a good player always saving the team from defeat or draw.
Sergio Ramos is still recovering because what I know is that he is still injured, maybe one day we will see how Sergio Ramos looks at PSG and has a duet with Hakimi who is his main player.
Because there is no concern from the PSG squad if they lose one player.

I really don't like the way PSG play these days. First, they drew with Club Brugge by 1-1 in the Champions League. After that, they barely defeated Lyon with a last minute goal by 2-1. And now, they barely beat Metz with another last minute goal by the same score they got against Lyon. This is really dangerous for them I think. I'm already aware of their great form in the Ligue 1. However, they struggled quite a lot lately and they can have a really tough time against Manchester City in their CL game.
With current form in Champions League they are not going to win against Manchester City because they are much superior in attack and defense both ways and PSG is struggling in both sections they need to do some better work before going against them because these both teams looking for their first title in Champions League and both spending some good enough money for this.

Right now, I am feeling PSG is good side but just have nothing conversation rate good against quality teams which is very important for win after Messi arrival we can think they will perform better but still some good work needed from them.
