The teams that were in the top 4 of the points table last season were Lille, PSG, Monaco and Lyon respectively. Now this season, PSG is at the top of the points table with wins in all matches. 16th place in the points table in Lille's position. Monaco, who finished third last season, is now 15th in the points table. And Lyon, who was in fourth place, is now ninth. As long as these teams are able to perform stable and increase their strength, the position of the "Ligue 1" league will not improve.

Lille considered this match very important but lost again. I think there is a saturation in the team after last year's championship. We don't follow a team that is hungry for success. They were able to collect only 5 points in 6 games. I don't think they have any claims this season after this loss.

Bordeaux got their first away win. Saint-Etienne had a bad start to the league like them and Bordeaux was the winner of this match.
The main matches will be played on Sunday. There are very good matches like Paris Saint-Germain vs. Lyon. If there is a team that will force Paris Saint-Germain in the league, it is Lyon.

To develop a little Lille failure that we mentioned previously, here we are with another defeat and this time vs Lens.
6 games: 3 defeats 2 draw 1 win, such an awesome start for the title holder (for not long time)!

Lille are going to play a pretty tough match against Lens this evening. After ending the last season as the champions, Lille were expected to have a decent start at least. But they had a terrible start honestly. They won only one time in their five league matches so far. Lens didn't lose any match and won two times. They defeated Monaco 2-0 away too. However, Lille have a big dominance against them considering their last matches in the Ligue 1. Lille defeated them 3-0 and 4-0. I wonder if they will manage to get a win again here. I think that Lens won't let them this time.

The match will start soon and the line-up information has been released, as you can see below that Lille will be playing with some of their best players. Like Burak Yilmaz, Jonathan David and Jose Fonte.

I don't think Lille will lose against Lens even though they lost Renato Sanches to a meniscal injury.

As long as PSG can keep playing with the current roster, I do not see any team managing to beat them at all. Surely they will have some misfires here and there but I can see them break 90+ points this season, and even if not they will still be champions with 10+ point difference easily. Lyon is not a match for PSG at all, no team would be if you look at the rosters. However, the biggest problem PSG has is not against other teams, it is against themselves. If this Mbappe-Messi thing ends up growing bigger and bigger than it will eventually be a locker room problem.
PSG is as same as Bayern in Bundesliga because they are able to win most of matches in Ligue 1 and opponents can beat them in a long competition. PSG can lose in some matches but they don't lose Ligue 1. In the past season, they lost it after many seasons because they concentrated on Champions League.

I don't think they will lose Ligue 1 again in this season.

Quote
Messi is looking like he may retire here, whereas Mbappe looks to leave next offseason, however Mbappe has been here for a while whereas Messi is brand new.
Messi can retire in PSG or return to Barcelona and retire there. Will Barcelona open their gate to welcome Messi after 3 seasons? With what they did for Ronaldinho, Villa, Xavi, Iniesta, I believe that Messi will not get the welcome from Barcelona. Will Messi still want to come back ?

But that might exactly be the problem sometimes. If you lose your rhythm or you don't push you to the absolute maximum every single game, you may not be able to switch gears fully in the big games either.

When you look back at Bayern Munich winning the triple, they just destroyed every single team for almost a full year straight. Whether in Bundesliga, in the national cup or in the CL. It is this inner will to just win everything and not lose a single point. If you switch back and forth between playing 50% strong and then again 100% strong, I am not so sure that is really realistic.

One of the biggest games of the week is PSG - Lyon which is going to be played on this Sunday.

It seems like Sergio Ramos has recovered from his injury finally. But I'm not sure whether we could see him in this game. And I'm expecting to see the deadly trio playing in this game again after the Club Brugge game. They weren't very effective in that game but this time maybe things would be a little different. They are going to have a much more serious opponent. PSG won all of their league games so far. Lyon have two wins and they have a 2-win streak also. PSG lost their last home game against Lyon 0-1. But PSG were more sensitive then. Now, we see a much more stronger PSG in this season. There, I expect PSG to win by one goal in the worst case.

Will something even happen? We do not know but if PSG ever gets worse, that will be because of in fighting.

-snip- even though currently Monaco performance is in a bad condition in the league, but I I believe that Monaco will be able to beat Nice again even if it is only with a narrow score, especially now that Monaco is in high confidence after defeating Sturm Graz in the European League.
If Nice lose, it will be their worst result so far in Ligue 1. If I wanted to bet on that match, I probably wouldn't have picked Monaco to win if the consideration was their poor performance so far in the league. Choosing Monaco would be very risky, so I wouldn't do it if I wanted to bet. Nice are a pretty strong team so far in the last 4 match. They haven't conceded a single goal in the league, so if you're pretty sure Monaco will win just because they won the game in the Europa League then I think you should take the bigger bet and be prepared to lose.

I would certainly bet on Nice in this game. Just look at how stable their defense so far have been and how weak the offense was for Monaco. Transfers also weren't successful so far so Kovac isn't left with too many options to change anything significantly.

On this Sunday, we are going to watch a nice game between Nice and Monaco. Nice are one of the teams that started the season with a very solid performance. They won 3 games and got a draw. And they scored 10 goals but conceded none so far. We are seeing a much more different Nice this season. On the other hand, Monaco are quite away from their performance in the last season. They won only once in 5 league games so far. They are struggling a lot when it comes to getting a win. However, Monaco are very dominant against Nice considering their last head-to-heads. In their last 5 official head-to-head games, Monaco won 4 times and Nice won only once. But this time, things might be different. I expect Nice not to lose this game.
From the last 5 meetings between the two teams, Monaco was even more dominating with 4 wins and the rest were won by, and of course this will further improve the mentality of the Monaco players when they return to face Nice later, even though currently Monaco performance is in a bad condition in the league, but I I believe that Monaco will be able to beat Nice again even if it is only with a narrow score, especially now that Monaco is in high confidence after defeating Sturm Graz in the European League.

Nice are having a completely different season so far. They have had a far better start comparing to the last season. They don't have any loss and won three of their four matches. Lyon also started recovering after beating Strasbourg 3-1 also. But I will not be able to use the similar words for Monaco I'm afraid. They are just lost now. They were beaten by Marseille also and it was a home match. Monaco are just going the opposite way completely this season.
Monaco performance against Marseille was worst. The match was their home match, but they couldn't score any goal and even ended the match with 0 shot on target. Also out of the 5 matches they have played, Monaco only manage to win 1. They are also playing the Europe League, and need to improve their performance. Although, they won their first Europe League match yesterday against SK Sturm Graz. However, their next match is against Nice on Sunday. Nice is not a weak team and more over, is their home match, I don't think Monaco will be able to win the match.

@blackened515 the victory in Europe should boost their morale which has been down due to continuously losing matches, but if they fail to replicate their winning form on Sunday then they may be in big trouble. Lastly I expect Nice to win their game against Monaco, because in their last two games they have scored many goals and won the match comfortably hence they’re in a better form in comparison to Monaco.

No you can't say that, this year is not all about Paris Saint-Germain. LOSC Lille is also playing in the Champions League championship in the group G while AS Monaco, Olympique Lyonais, Olympique de Marseille are playing in the Europa League championship and Stade Rennais is playing in the Europa Conference league(they met Tottenham yesterday : 2-2) So it will be a great year for all those french teams.
There have been several French teams this season taking part in the Champions League and Europa League and it is always a good display for their football.

To win the title, I don't think any French team will reach the final of the Europa league this season. PSG also will not necessarily qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League considering they have to adapt to their new superstar "Messi" who does not seem to have shown his best performance in the last 2 match. If Pochettino manages to make the attacking trio play well, maybe this team will go even faster all the way to the final. But I have not seen them perfect even though they have won the last 5 match in Ligue 1.

We are in the 5th round and PSG is already leading with 4 points, well without counting the lacking game between OM and Nice.
Lille = total failure this season. Lyon isn't stable as usual. OM and Nice aren't bad for the moment but for how long? Angers won't stand there after a couple of rounds imo.
PSG should create 2 teams, one in the Ligue 1 to keep that league competitive and another team in EPL or La Liga tho Roll Eyes
I agree with you, Lille is currently encountering a big failure at the beginning of this season. Bookmakers don't even trust in their ability to win against small teams. Lille will meet RC Lens next saturday and they are the underdogs of the match. That's unbelievable.
RC Lens @2.55| Draw @3.35| LOSC Lille @2.80
That sort of makes sense. Last season Lille winning the league was not something people expected neither, and they somehow did manage to do that which was awesome but unexpected even last season, check the early game odds for Lille and that wasn't great neither last year, eventually they got better odds. However, if you check the transfers this season, according to transfermarkt the value of the players that left was 74 million euro, whereas the ones that came in had 30, that is 40+ million euro difference in player value compared to last season. That should be a good enough reason to drop in talent and success as well.

I am not saying that they will keep on being bad, but I do understand the logic of them not getting the attention they were getting last season. This year it is all about PSG once again and how they built a team that is unbelievable.

PSG is still great in this League considering there is no competitor that will really threaten its position at this time and this season.
