It's nothing new that Paris Saint Germain show inconsistency, even when they still have a Neymar and Messi they often show it, especially in the Champions League. I emphasize more in the Champions League, because in Ligue 1 even though they are inconsistent the fact is that no one can shift them, but if in the Champions League they are inconsistent then they will not be able to do anything.
The transition of players will take longer, I agree with that. But we also have to see the progress whether it shows a hope or not, because if we say it takes time but there is no progress that can be shown it will be a futile wait.
They have the money, but they haven't been able to use it in a way that would allow them to compete in the Champions League.
That is why currently PSG's philosophy is changing from mega star projects, to focusing more on young talent players. you can see that the current PSG players are dominated by young players. some of the players are established players such as Dembele, Mbappe, Asensio, and several other players who are talents who need to further develop their skills and stability. in midfield, only Carlos Soler and Fabian Ruiz are 27 years old. even then, they rarely enter Luis Enrique's starting eleven. on his side are only young players, who need to hone their talents and abilities. for the defense line, PSG still retains several senior players. at least, so that this team is not filled with an easy squad as a whole. however, I am quite sure that some of the old players will soon leave PSG. it could be this January, or next summer.
So, it would be unfair to expect PSG to perform optimally and impressively in the Champions League, especially this season. at the very least, Enrique needs time to implement his system and find the ideal player. if not in January, it's likely that Enrique will be more serious next summer. especially, in terms of bringing in some newcomers. and if we want to see PSG's current progress, give Enrique 2-3 seasons to make this team equal to other strong teams in the Champions League. even then, if Enrique is still employed by PSG for quite a long period of time. just imagine looking at PSG's current squad and condition, we are well aware that their chances of competing in the Champions League competition are very slim. so, ideally for now PSG is prioritizing the Ligue 1 trophy. Even in the Champions League, Enrique will only try his best to take his team as far as possible. if they qualify for the round of 16, it will be progress for PSG with a squad that is not yet strong and established at all. so, don't get your hopes up that PSG will be able to perform well in the Champions League.
