The win of Monaco and Nice now is making the French Ligue 1 very interesting and competitive and honestly I did not Nice to win tonight,they have not been that consistent usually in their campaigns,sure they have always been a good team of Ligue 1 just not quite enough to fight for the title in a consistent way.Now they have 25 points with near half of the league games near completed as just some 7-8 games have remained until we end the half of the season.

Monaco on the other hand despite being there,they have made some errors which if they didn't they would be at over 30 points right now leading comfortably.Paris is back and we know when they start doing seriously they are the strongest contender,let's see how it ends.

PSG's performance seems consistent to me now. Although they were inconsistent in the early part of the season, they are now performing consistently in both the Champions League and Ligue 1. PSG are unbeaten in their last five Ligue 1 matches and have picked up full points in four. Looking at their performance in the last 5 matches, we should not have any doubts about their consistency. Luis Enrique may have got the trick on how to get the best performance out of this team and he is applying that trick which is why the PSG team is getting one success after another. PSG are consistent now and if they play according to plan, they will be very consistent in the upcoming matches as well.

Nice winning Rennes regardless of the red card they got was actually a good one they still got away with three points and were able to continually maintain  their top position on the table with 25 points, though Rennes were ahead with possession, they Lost.

By statistics it was clear Rennes did performed well but couldn't win the home team because I think they were better and it could have been really embarrassing they lost at home to an average team while at the top of the table, Nice is ahead of PSG with a point of which of PSG wins their next game they will most be ahead of Nice but if Nice wins their next match again, they race continues. This is actually bringing the fun back because we now have what to keep in anticipation as it's no longer business as usual.

Great to see that there is a very strong competition in the French Ligue 1 on who will go home with the league title at the end of the season. The league was before regarded by many as a "one club" league but with what we've seen so far from other serious contenders , I think it's absolutely safe to say that Paris Saint Germaine will have to stand on their feet if they must win than to relax with the belief that they're gonna win the league title at the end regardless of whichever way the chose to perform.

Nice and Monaco have a much bigger advantage because they don't play in other leagues, but that really depends on the level of play they show. If you are unable to maintain consistency then this opportunity will also be lost because you will experience several defeats in Ligue 1 in the upcoming matches. The start of the season is almost difficult for teams that do not have good squad depth and experienced players to ensure champions because it will be quite problematic when entering the middle of the season with several players suffering from injuries.
I still have quite doubts about Nice and Monaco in the Ligue 1 title competition because as you said especially last season, Monaco lost momentum to maintain consistency in the middle of the season. Moreover, the difference is only one point between PSG and Nice so it is not that difficult for Luis Enrique to catch up.

Another point loss for Lyon...    I don't know why bookies showed Lyon as this big favourite for this game against Metz. Even though it was a home game too Lyon were still in horrible shape. They were literally the worst team in the league with their form. But seeing those odds made me think about whether it would be a sign for Lyon to finally get a win.

But no. It wasn't like that at all. They could have even lost the game if that equalizer didn't come in the last 10 minutes. Even Lacazette can't focus on his game this season. Well, so I think the +05 @1.77 handicap option for Rennes seems quite ideal. because if you choose the 1x2 option, it is too risky with what I predict.
