Last night I was so disappointed at Monaco, I never believed they had to lose a game they have already won, I mean what went wrong with the Arsenal man Balogun?
He wasted 2 penalties and I just felt for him, no wonder Arteta never gave him a chance.
A good player who decide to be on the bad side of the fans and I believe he can't get over it anytime soon.

It was very disappointing of course, because how could Folarin Balogun be given two opportunities to take penalty kicks. Because in reality, Folarin Balogun had failed to execute the first penalty kick, so Folarin Balogun should not have been given a second chance. Because with this defeat, at least Monaco failed to maintain its position at the top of the current Ligue 1 standings. So yes, with results like this it might have a bad impact on Monaco's results in the next matches too. Because usually, when they fail to consistently achieve good results, their performance will also decline in other matches ahead.
It wasn't Balogun's day so the 2 penalties he took both failed to convert into goals. I would not consider this a win based on luck for Nice. Because in terms of the game, Nice also played well in this match. Instead maybe I can say that this is not Monaco's lucky day, especially for Balogun. The two missed penalties proved that penalties are not as easy as one might think. Chances were 50/50 from both the kicker and the goalkeeper, and unlucky for the Monaco players. This result meant they had to relinquish their top spot to Nice.

Idk whether he was just unluck or play so badly but missing the penalty was a terrible for me to watch him. Monaco can start to learn to give penalty to the someone who has better finishing than him.
It's a very pathetic performance from monaco. Monaco thrashed by nice like PSG. I kinda feel that if nice is slowly moving up to the top position in the league 1.

It's fantastic result from nice. This club beats two strongest team in league 1 right now. It's amazing to see nice farmed so many points from beating top clubs.

Balogun was very unfortunate today and he would be so pissed at himself for being the major reason why his team lost the match and gave Nice an opportunity to top the league, if he had converted those two penalty he missed Monaco won't had lost and would still maintain their position in the league Balogun is not a bad player actually, last season he was very brilliant and score more goals but I don't think he's more focused while on the penalty kick and it should definitely be handed to another better kicker.
Well Nice actually performed well in the match even though Monaco was more dominant, Nice Created more chances and managed to convert one of it into a goal thanks to Balogun for missing the penalties and putting them ahead in the table but I believe Monaco are still strong contenders and would do better in their next match.

Yes, they deserve it and are in first place in the Ligue 1 standings for a while, but they can't dance all night like you said because their points gap with AS Monaco is only 1 point, if they can't be consistent in the future, AS Monaco will easily overtake them and take back the first place. Next week they will meet Brest and play at home. If they can get 3 points from the away match against Nice, they should be able to win easily against Brest even though currently Brest has a good performance in the league.
Tomorrow PSG will play with Marseille and if they win, they will also be able to score 11 points and equal Monaco on points. Despite the fact that they played a difficult match against Dortmund in the middle of the week, they were able to win and this should add to their confidence.

Marseille is not looking very good, there are many draws, and by the way, they also had to play a difficult away match with Ajax, so the teams will be on equal terms. I think that PSG has every chance to return to the top of the standings, the team is not in the best condition yet, but gradually they are starting to play better, Enrique is a good coach.

They will win of course, there's no reason for them to even share points with Marseille. Just like Nice and AS Monaco currently, have a difference of 1 point, these two teams also have the same conditions, the match will probably be a fierce match, but 3 points will definitely be on PSG's side.

FYI, here are the odds for 1X2 bet on this match (current odds, change regularly): (1) PSG - @1,62 | (X) Draw - @4,3 | (2) Marseille - @4,9

Even though we know that Monaco received 2 penalties, unfortunately the former Arsenal player was unable to do his job properly in executing the penalty kicks. Even though Monaco could have won if the two penalties had been scored, it seems they were just unlucky. However I have strong reasons to favor Nice to win and this is their back-to-back away win.

I think Balogun is the author of this defeat, and he was so bad when he missed 2 penalties against Nice. Balogun had the opportunity to put Monaco ahead from the penalty spot in the match against Nice. However, Balogun's shot was quite gentle, and goalkeeper Marcin Bulka made a simple save.
Nice scored a goal in stoppage time, thanks to Jeremie Boga. Monaco lost to Nice, making Balogun's missed shot even worse. Balogun was expected to play well in this match but ended in disaster.

Idk whether he was just unluck or play so badly but missing the penalty was a terrible for me to watch him. Monaco can start to learn to give penalty to the someone who has better finishing than him.

Paris Saint Germaine can not afford to drop points again if they're really in serious contention to win the French Ligue 1 title at the end of the season. That's because of the fact that they're currently in the fifth position of the French league table and are four points behind league leaders Nice.
Marseille who sits on the fourth position with one point better than PSG will also want to win that game to further strengthen their chances of finishing in the top four positions of the league at the end of the season. It promises to be a closely contested encounter but I think PSG are gonna win the game.

I would usually say that the win in the Champions League should give a boost in confidence, but Borussia Dortmund wasn't really that tough of an opponent. That's not to say that the game doesn't help PSG to further improve and take this success with them for the games in Ligue 1, but PSG has to overcome their relaxed way of playing in Ligue 1. They can beat the tough opponents, but there problem is to play less than 100% serious in Ligue 1.

As I said before that statistics and feelings can have a big influence in determining the results and I feel very happy that my predictions were correct. Maybe there are so many friends here who doubt that Nice will win and I still stand by my stance of favoring Nice. This was proven by the narrow victory in the minute of injury time which succeeded in securing 3 points against Monaco.

You are right Folarin Balogun missing 2 penalties in the game between Monaco and Nice kept the Nice team in the game, and also ensured that the Nice is motivated to try and put more energy into winning the game and thats just what happened. A late winner for Nice deservedly to go top of the league.

Do you think Nantes vs Lorient can give us more of the same excitement in early kick off today?
I think Mikel Arteta's decision to sell him was the right one and you can see how a striker can miss two penalties. On the other hand, I have to criticize coach Adi Hütter who should have given other players the opportunity to take the penalty kick so that the results would be more promising.

Talking about Nantes' match against Lorient with a number of points in the standings that is not that different, I think Nantes will be able to win at home, but it does not rule out the possibility that the result will be a draw. Even so, the quality of Lorient's players is still slightly better than Nantes' and I think Nantes must make Lorient's players tired first while defending in the first half, after that they can counterattack in the second half. However, if you want to bet and remember that the odds are not much different from Nantes @2.39 and Lorient @3.05, then the safest option is to bet on BTTS because it is certain that both teams will not give up in this match.

Indeed the away goalkeeper was outstanding in that encounter but all thanks to Balogun who made that possible and I think the Nice players would be dancing all through the night and they deserve it.

Folarin Balogun is a great player, he was just unlucky in his match against Nice, instead of condemning Balogun's performance, we should see how the Nice goalkeeper (Marcin Bułka) performed. He played really great in this match and became MOTM with a rating of 8.5. I really enjoyed this match, 2 teams fighting for 1st place in Ligue 1, hopefully we see things like this for more time in Ligue 1, I'm tired of seeing PSG become Ligue 1 champions regularly.

I'm just fed up with PSG playing the invincible team of Ligue 1, winning the league title every season is just annoying to me because they can't even do well in Europe competitions, is so sad. The Ligue 1 is not that competitive and I hope to see a different champion for like 3 seasons without PSG getting involved.

Later today Lyon hosts Brest and the story is quite funny lol.
Last season, Lyon was the better team; This time around, Lyon are struggling in the league and have just 2 points in 5 games; while Brest are 3rd on the log with 10 points after 3 games.

Who do you think will get the win? Brest or Lyon? I think Brest wins this with 2 goals to 1

Lyon is one of the worst teams this year, they cannot get points from the matches. The team is perhaps in a worse situation than ever before and its opponent in this match is also quite good. In previous years, Lyon would have been expected to be third and its rival at the bottom, but this year the situation is exactly the opposite.
I think tonight's match is too risky to bet on, it is very difficult to predict who will win. I think Lyon will lose points because they will be playing away, but they can surprise us and maybe play a good match like last years and win the match Cheesy

I thought the defeat was quite ridiculous, two golden opportunities that failed to convert into goals. Having the status as the most prestigious player at the club does not guarantee that he will make the expected contribution. I think it's rare for consecutive failures to execute penalties in one match, of course he won't forget that misfortune for a long time. Making his debut as a starter since moving from Arsenal, Balugun failed to make a good impression at his new club.

Now the Ligue 1 standings are led by Nice, and Monaco is in second place, after suffering their first defeat of the season. It is likely that Marsielle and Brest will be replaced if they both manage to win the match in week six.

Adolf Hütter is dissapointed with the results his team witnessed in Stade Louis II against Nice. We all know how Nice struggle last season and ended 9th position on the Ligue One table, this season they're first ranked, shocking. I'm not surprised to see Monaco lost against an average side last night. Ofcourse all fingers points out to Folarin Jerry Balogun who is to be blamed for the all big chances he missed, and also failed in his ability to net two clean penalties that would have aided them to be on the winning side. Perhaps he remained their top attacker, more to learn about the functions of Ligue One for the player.

I think the coach actually thought that this was not a good result brought by him. I think he set up a standard for himself. And he was unable to deliver up to the standards. So he thought probably someone else might be able to do a better job compared to what he is doing right now. Right now the situation is not very good, to be honest. With the change of manager, it will definitely be hard for players to cope with the new tactics of new manager.

Will the new manager be able to bring good results? Only time will tell. But whatever the new coach does, he will have to bring better results compared to what the last coach was bringing.

I think he made the right choice because the team lost the Champions league play off under his control and he was not confident of himself to be successful at the club this season so instead of allowing them to suffer this season or him facing the embarrassement of being  sacked due to a poor performances he foresaw, he decided to resign for someone else to take over, and currently the team is managed by Pancho Abardonado, as an interim manager.

But come to think of it Marcelino's performance wasn't really bad cause they're currently unbeaten and are on the 3rd position in the table with 9 points just 2 points behind the current leaders Monaco, they're even above the league giants PSG so i wonder why he's decide to resign, well let's see what the interim manager brings to the team, if he'll be able to impress the board and secure a permanent job.

From one point, the decision of the coach does make sense. He may have thought that he was not doing good enough and probably. He also thought that there were other people who would be able to do a better job compared to him. He probably even thought that he might do worse in the future, and he actually got himself out of that before he was even able to bring worse results.

But at the same time, I think he definitely could have done better. Especially if given enough time. And I definitely think that he was not given enough time. He himself did not give him enough time. So maybe he could have done better with the team, maybe he would have done worse. I guess we will never know.

It's true that Balogun is to blame in this match, he had two chances but failed both times, but apart from that, we also have to admit that the Nice team performed very well, this team has made quite significant progress in the last few matches and now they are even at the top of the standings. shifted Monaco because of the victory they achieved.
And this also proves that Nice is not only consistent but they are quite strong this season and Nice is one of the teams to watch out for this season to win the title.
Nice is currently leading and they are showing a better game at the moment. really surprising, while we can see that PSG and Marseille will also soon follow from the bottom. but the results of the next match between PSG and Marseille will also be unpredictable. but I hope they won't get a draw. because a draw would only make things more difficult for them. when Nice, Monaco, and Brest continued to show good performances.
The start of the season made PSG have to work hard to return to the top of the standings. But seeing Ligue 1 this season being more competitive than last season is quite exciting.

Nice's players are doing great this season. Nice also beat table-topping monaco in their last match after a win over psg . If nice can continue to perform like this, the top spot in the table will be in their hands..
The match in marseille vs psg will be very competitive.  The match is very important for PSg. The psg team is now in fifth place in the points table  . Even if they win this match, psg will move to third place in the table. On the other hand  if Marseille win this match, they will be in possession of the top or second place in the table. psg's dominance in Ligue 1 has not been seen this season . Several teams look set to fight for the title.
