Monaco vs Nice

The opening match for this week looks like it will be quite tense because Monaco wants to maintain its position at the top and Nice will likely be able to overtake them if they manage to steal 3 points at the Louis II Stadium. Last week, Monaco didn't get good enough results after only drawing against Lorient and for Nice, who just beat PSG last week, of course they have more confidence to continue to achieve maximum results.

If we look at the last meeting between the two which also took place at Monaco's home ground, at that time Nice managed to beat Monaco with quite a landslide score and I think if Nice can provide more resistance like before then it is possible that they will be more open to winning this match. Even so, I don't think Monaco will give up easily and I predict Nice will still win with a narrow score of 1-2.
Interested opening match in Ligue 1 between AS Monaco vs Nice, both teams have good performance last several games and success lead top fourth standings position for Nice and AS Monaco managed well on first standings placed. Opportunity for Nice back to top standing because remaining two points automatically Nice will move up to 1st place if can get three points. Although on the top standings position, AS Monaco have inconsistency performance after hold draw by Lorient last match and if want keep existing for longer time as top standings position Monaco have winning three points exactly playing in front of their fans. Nice have quit well performance after winning last two matches in a row, last week PSG have getting first loss from Nice and could be good start for Nice return to top standings.

I don't think like you. PSG have won 3 matches and dropped points in 2 matches in Ligue 1. They lost points in 3 out of 5 matches. It can't be a normal performance for the big team. The fifth team in the points table of Ligue 1 is now PSG. However, this team did not perform well in Ligue 1. However, PSG's performance against Dortmund was very composed. Their match strategy was also good. In this match we see the dominance of PSG. They dominated the match with 68% ball possession.
The problems that arose at the start of the season due to drama from the PSG owner and his players were quite worrying because they saw the unpleasant results obtained at the start of this season. So only victory can make them believe that PSG is in good condition. It seems that victory in the Champions League is enough to answer doubts because Dortmund is the team that is also the favorite to qualify from that group.
This week they will face a big match against Marseille and the result is quite important for PSG to be able to improve their ranking, and playing at home will make them very favorites to win, and Mbappe is very likely to score goals again because that is what he always does when used by the coach PSG to play.

So far in the Ligue 1 Monaco have made the best start for this season. This made me quite surprised as I got used to seeing them struggling to go up to top positions. Adi Hütter has been doing a pretty good work even though there hasn't been much time since he started his job here. Maybe Monaco are back to the days of the 2016/17 season again who knows.  Grin

But it is hard to tell whether they can become the champions in the league this season. PSG are inconsistent in the league for now. But how long would this last for them? For example would it be similar to Bayern Munich's performance last season?

If this happens then maybe we can see a different champion again and that could be Monaco depending on their consistency.
maybe some people will say the same thing when a team looks very good at being able to occupy first place and for me it will only be temporary. maybe you say Monaco is more consistent but I dont think so because look at the point difference, some of the teams in the top 5 of the standings still have a very small point difference and also I think League 1 does not have competitive competition yet because I have not seen a team that has consistent performance quality. Since the start of the season and Monaco have never been defeated in the last 5 matches but have only been able to get 3 wins.
meanwhile, PSG in the last 5 matches managed to get 2 wins and 1 defeat, which we can judge that there is not a big difference here because it is possible that in several future matches Enrique will try to get better results than before. Its just that Monaco looks superior because the team has never played against bigger team and I will wait for the upcoming match to see if Monaco really has very high consistency.

I really didn't expect that PSG could win absolutely against Dortmund with a score of 2 - 0 and of course many people thought PSG would have difficulty in this match so the final result was predicted to be a draw but PSG actually put up quite a good fight and dominated the game this really extraordinary for Mbappe and his fellow PSG players.

I was also quite surprised to see that they were able to win with a fairly convincing goal margin, perhaps because a few days earlier they lost to Nice at home, which raised doubts about PSG being able to get points from Dortmund, or maybe because Dortmund themselves were in a situation that was not much different from PSG is also experiencing difficulties in the domestic league so PSG faces opponents who are quite balanced in terms of strength.
This victory will again lift PSG's enthusiasm to be able to win in Ligue 1 in the match week 6 against Marseille. If they succeed in winning, it will again bring them up the rankings and shift Marseille, who are also contenders for the title.
From this victory I actually think that in the match against Nice they lost because they wanted to maximize their play in the UCL match and for the French League while just playing as best they could without needing to put in of performance because the UCL be more valuable.
In the Bundesliga Dortmund didn't seem to be playing very well although it can't be said to be bad but at least there was a significant decline in performance but unfortunately they also had to accept defeat in the UCL against PSG.

Next PSG will be faced with a team that is quite strong at the start of this season namely Marseille and even though PSG has home advantage.
I am sure that Marseille can still match PSG game and currently Marseille itself has achieved several draws so it is very likely that it will be the same for the next match against PSG.

Honestly I still don't know what's wrong with Lens this season, 5 games no win 1 draw and 4 lost games and they're in the champions league, doing what exactly?
Where's that spark they pulled that almost got PSG off balance in getting the title? Sometimes I don't see all French teams as competitors including PSG.
To be frank with you this is something the Ligue 1 teams should be worried about, imagine after qualifying for champions league with that good form of last season they're at the bottom of the table.
Is it that they lost all good players they had in this recent transfer window? I can't imagine this madness to continue, I think such a thing happened to Monaco when they won the league title and after that they came with a very poor form the next season. Is only PSG that are doing well only in the Ligue 1.
Is it a curse that any team who compete against PSG for the title have to suffer the next season?
It's a sign for lens to sack its coach. The club can't always rely on the current coach. lens is also having trouble in UCL as well as it was draw against sevilla. We can't even argue what happened behind the scene.
Lens will be in a big trouble if the club keeps suffer the same result. It is caused by lens was able finishing at the top two of league 1 but the current performance is dropping so crazily.
It's time for lens to recruit a new appointment for the club. That is the only possible solution since the transfer season has already closed since a few weeks ago. Lyon has been also recruiting a new appointment.
Lens needs to take the same step as lyon does. Marseille was also competing with PSG last season, but it is still fine and stable. It is only coincidence if lens was suffering problem on its performance in league 1 but that needs to be sorted out asap.

Beaten Dortmund in the Champions League did not give psg any guarantee that they would win their next match against Marseille because Marseille is also doing well. psg is unpredictable now with their performance, but let's see what will happen by the weekend Maybe they will win Marseille and continue with good form.
Marseille is doing well on their side as a team but then checking the records it doesn't seem so as they are unbeaten but they have won just one out of five matches played so far, the rest games were draw, as compared to PSG who has won three of their games, it's only understandable to say the match may end a draw but I doubt PSG may want to give Marseille that chance to win.

PSG don't really have that much of a problem as you may want to see it except for the dependency on mbappe in most of their matches, something they did their best not to do in their last UCL game, this dependency at times is due to the fact that he appears to be the best in their team as at this time and he knows how well to score goals so they would always want to assist him make the goals.

Let's hope the game this weekend turns out well in favour of whomsoever plays well to deserve a win, but as at this time I will be careful not to be very certain about my prediction as I still feel anything can happen in favour of any of both team but then the obvious is, PSG is the favourite for this game, and they have the home advantage aswell. These are all factors that may considerably aid their victory
Paris Saint Germaine's defeat at home to Nice last weekend is a clear pointer that the French champions aren't predictable when it comes to French Ligue fixtures.
Of a truth, they comfortably defeated Borussia Dortmund in their first UEFA Champions League game of the season but that doesn't in any way guarantee that they're gonna win their league game against Marseille this weekend. Unlike PSG, Marseille are still unbeaten in the league since the start of the season and would definitely not want to lose against PSG this weekend.

PSG is now in 5th place in the Ligue 1 standings with 8 points, 3 points behind leaders Monaco. In the first two matches, Enrique tried the available players. the results were very unsatisfactory.  In the next match, PSG won the match with positive results. Unfortunately, Assensio, who was starting to find his rhythm with PSG as a center forward, had to be absent due to injury. In the end, the match against Nice PSG had to be lost at home.
IMO, there are two factors that cause this.  Firstly, Asenssio's absence has become very unstable in Paris Saint-Germain's midfield. As for Goncalo Ramos, this player is not a ready-made striker.  so, he needs time to reach his level. The most influential factor, PSG's line players made a lot of mistakes.

Fortunately, now Randal Kolo Muani can be an option even though his performance is not yet stable. But gradually, PSG will be able to return to the top four in the standings. and in all likelihood, they will be at the top of the Ligue 1 standings. After all, there are still many games left.
In the Champions League match, PSG was able to gain three points and as a result they became temporary leaders of Group F. So, to find out more. Come on, let's just follow every development.
I'm not bothered about their current standings on Ligue One table, they will always bounce back and lifts the trophy. Nasser Al-Khelaifi continues to strive for a positive development that will result in his team winning significant titles this season. PSG suffers a surprise decrease in league games despite investing a great deal in the summer window. I'm uncertain what's happening with the club; they keep making significant errors that end up costing them every season. There's nothing new about the Parisians at UCL; we know when they're going to be smashed away.

There are at least 5 other matches that will determine who will qualify for the round of 16. However, the victory over Dortmund was an encouraging start for PSG this season. After defeat from Nice's 2-3 in Ligue 1, many people doubted PSG's performance against Dortmund, but in fact PSG emerged victorious by getting full points in that match.
This is a good start for PSG in the UCL League competition, as you said, many doubt that PSG will have difficulty beating Dormund. And this proves that PSG's mentality is very strong under coach Enrique because the defeat against Nice did not make PSG falter against Dortmund. I see PSG have found a rhythm according to Enrique's instructions, making them stronger and ready to face Marseille this week.

In terms of statistics, PSG really dominated the match against Dortmund, but they were not good enough in finishing where only 3/17 shots were on target. This home win is important even though PSG ultimately also has the potential to lose points in the next match.
Hakimi and Mbappe's goals brought PSG to victory against Dortmund at the Parc Des Princes Stadium with a convincing score of 2-0 making them first in the current group, but my prediction is that in the future they will also emerge as group F winners.

At least to be fair, then maybe we should also be able to consider the poor performance experienced by Dortmund at this moment. Because after all, the reality is that Dortmund also in the Bundesliga is not as good as in the previous season, because at this moment Dortmund is still not in its best form. So yes, it might be a natural result that Dortmund lost the match against PSG at the Parc des Princes. But indeed, although I also consider this, but I also admit that this 2-0 victory will certainly be good for boosting the morale of PSG players of course. Maybe, with the good results that PSG managed to get in the Champion League, it can make PSG have good results also in Ligue 1 of course to improve its position in the Ligue 1 standings at this moment.

In Ligue 1 we called out PSG's poor and erratic performance. Their performance against Nice was very poor. Especially their defenders did not perform well. But the team showed excellent dominance in the first match of the Champions League. PSG played well in the entire match against Dortmund. In particular I would say PSG's defense was solid. However, I don't think the performance of PSG's attacking players is good in this match either. However, we saw the improvement of Dembele's performance in this match. Now if Ramos and Asensio's performances are a bit better and consistent then I think PSG will be favorites for the Champions League as well. And PSG's overall performance will be stronger.

I do agree but I find it very difficult to base a more general judgment on the game against Dortmund as Dortmund isn't the opponent we would usually think they are. Out of shape and huge issues defensively and their offense is really bad at the moment as well. I am really looking forward to the games to come in the Champions League when PSG plays away from home. They need more and harder challenges. They are not a bad team and they didn't lose against Nice because they lack quality, but the biggest issue is that Ligue 1 is demanding too little from PSG. They lose those games because they have problems to play at their maximum potential. But all this left aside the game against Dortmund was great.

It might be argued that Paris Saint Germain are one of the stronger clubs in the Champions League, but the question is how strong are they when compared to the other clubs in the same competition? Not to underestimate Paris Saint Germain, but I would say that they are not stronger than the other favorites. I probably don't have to mention which clubs those are, because I'm pretty sure you can already tell which ones I'm referring to.
I'm not saying this without reason, and one of the factors for me to say that is when I look at their performance in the previous season.
PSG is always the talk of the town every season but in the end for the Champions League they still ended up in the same condition where PSG only continued until the last 16 after that they were eliminated. Currently, they have made changes in terms of plans and player reshuffles have also been made but until now PSG still hasn't found anything more and even their performance tends to decline for the start of this season.
In the Champions League their first match was still very good and they got 3 points. To be honest for the group phase even though they are in the hell group at the moment because there are 3 other big clubs in the group with them but I am quite sure for them to qualify from the group phase but after that I don't expect much and this depends on how their opponents will be after qualifying because if there are heavy opponents again like the previous 2 seasons then the last 16 phase will definitely be difficult for them to pass and they could have stopped again this season.
Assuming that they will be able to qualify from the group stage, the draw to see their opponents will be decisive. I'm talking about external factors here, because the luck of who their opponents will be in the last 16 is also something that matters. After all, we don't know which clubs will qualify from this group stage. And if they are lucky enough at the time of the draw they are matched with a weaker club, or could be considered a dark horse in the group stage. But we'll see, because we're just past the first game, and we're still a long way from the last 16.
Indeed, what you say is true because in the end when they are in the last 16 phase PSG always meet tough opponents but on the other hand this is also an answer that even if they meet clubs that tend to be weak in the last 16 they will still not be able to win because when facing comparable opponents they always receive defeats.

This season they are still the same as one of the favorite clubs to qualify from the group phase even though they are in a tough group but their chances of qualifying are very large but after that nothing else can be expected because in my opinion their conditions remain the same as the previous 2 seasons.

It is normal for big clubs to get some embarrassing results sometimes. This doesn't mean that they are not good. PSG's match against Nice was a shock but it looks like Luis Enrique has identified and fixed the defense of the team. Mbappe got just a goal but he wasted more than that. Achraf Hakimi has not stopped improving and he was all over the pitch in the game against Dortmund. He overlapped consistently and was always in the right position. His goal was a mixture of class, composure, and confidence. He clearly beat a defender because slotting the ball very far from the reach of Kobel. The PSG defense was so solid that we didn't see much from the the Germany side attack led by the young striker Adeyemi.

Five games played so far and PSG won two games and lost one game against Nice, also they had two draws in the first week and second week of the French League.
This performance is not good for a team like PSG at all. They could get 15 points in the five games so far and they got only eight points. This can be even worse when you know the other teams in French Leageu spent less money than PSG.

Their big target is of course the UCL trophy which they have been targeting for a long time. The victory in the match against Dortmund gave quite a good impression of PSG progress in the Champions League this season and fans seemed happy with this first win. PSG are in the tightest group this season so this first win will make them even more confident for the upcoming matches. I admit that PSG this season is better prepared, both in terms of player depth and also their coach, they are really a team that really counts this season.

Luis Enrique must be able to bring PSG to appear consistent throughout the Group Phase matches. PSG next opponent in the Champions League is Newcastle United. Of course, this is not a weak opponent because Eddie Howe team was able to hold AC Milan to a draw at San Siro. Of course PSG must play more impressively like they did when they beat Dortmund. 3 points will mean a lot for PSG in that match, but the match will start in 2 weeks. Of course both teams still have plenty of time to prepare their strengths before the match starts.
whatever we talk about here about PSG goodness, I really support it but all I am thinking about right now is whether this will be a good start? I mean, if PSG able to win against Dortmund in this first match, will Enrique really be able to take PSG to even higher level, whereas I am actually a little pessimistic seeing that the performance of other PSG players is less than optimal, even just relying on Mbappe. and on the one hand I have a little premature thought that when PSG can surprisingly achieve achievement of holding the champions league title this season, I am a little sure that Mbappe will not leave PSG and prefer to extend his contract again.
because currently what Mbappe wants the champions league title and career with the talent he has for satisfactory results in champions league.
Not entirely sure about that to be fair. Not like Dortmund is having a great season neither, and maybe we could consider that situation to be a bit more different. I get that it is not going to end up with a situation that is risky, we could still see them do wonders and there is nothing against that but we could end up seeing them change a lot as well.

I hope that they will do at least "fine", for their standards I would say if they win the league, get the domestic cup, and be either in semi-finals or finals of UCL, that is definitely a good season. Could they do that? Depending on who they draw against at UCL, they do have the capability of doing something like that and should be considered as a possibility.

Seems incorrect, in Ligue 1 PSG have won 2 of 5 matches and loss 7 points based on 15 points achievement if winning 5 matches, its not good start for PSG although left 3 points from current top standings teams AS Monaco. Luis  Henrique reputation helped awhile after winning in Champion League last match from Dortmund and need to get three points upcoming match against Marseille in Ligue 1. Still not consistency performance from PSG in this season, two early matches in Ligue 1 have got draw and last match have loss from Nice.
Actually, PSG helped with top standings team in Ligue 1 right now still not in consistency performance and not really difficult yet back to the top standings for few matches later if PSG can get three points on several upcoming matches.

Currently, psg performance is not stable, and it is very hard nowadays to predict their matches, whether they win or lose. Even in the Champions League match they played against Dortmund, I don't expect them to win because their last game in their domestic league against Nice really makes me not believe in psg form. With this current performance, if the club does not improve now, it will later be a great challenging time when they will need to win, especially in their domestic league. I am just imagining psg performance last season when they played like fifteen matches unbeaten before Lens broke the unbeaten, but now that it is only five matches played, they have drawn two and lost one.

Their match strategy was also good. In this match we see the dominance of PSG. They dominated the match with 68% ball possession.

The Parisians faced their first defeat in the league against Nice, however they demonstrated solid performance against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. For a top-tier team, maintaining consistency is crucial, especially with star players on board. However, on-field and off-field issues might be affecting their overall performance. It's noticeable that the team heavily relies on Kylian Mbappe's performance. In a recent PSG match, Mbappe shone while others faltered, highlighting how much they rely on his skills and abilities.
