It's not a problem if you dominate Ligue 1 even for a long time without tough competition from other teams, such as Bayern who control the Bundesliga, but the problem is that they don't build this team strong enough to compete on the European stage like what has been done by Bayern Munich in the last few seasons.

But it is a problem. It's proven that if your league is tough, then you produce really good teams and players. Competition makes teams try really really hard. Bayern at least has consistent challenge from Dortmund and even in cups fight very hard with others but PSG can clean sweep everything if they just try.

They have been having it too easy, so even with superstars they didn't try hard anymore. They lose or draw because they take things too much for granted.

PSG spent big, it was strong enough to win everything, but it wasn't "shaped" by good competition.
I agree with you that the tougher the competition in the domestic league, the more motivated a club will be to improve. I'll take the example of the Premier League for example, they get tough competition from all clubs, we can't easily predict matches there, because there clubs that are considered weak can become a stumbling block for big clubs. And we can see what they can do in European competitions as a result of the intense competition in their local competitions. Unlike Ligue 1, we can see what they can do in European competitions, especially the Champions League. They can't say much there.

We can't deny things like this, because after all this is part of the mental formation that will be very useful.

Marseille are in a really worrying situation for now. First the elimination by Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualifiers and now the worrying performance in the Ligue 1. For example in their latest league match Metz were nearly beating them despite playing with 10 players. They made a comeback from 0-1 to 2-1 with 10 players and Marseille barely saved one point.

Marcelino had better find a solution as soon as possible. The earlier the team start playing better the higher Marcelino's chance to stay here for one more season.

Otherwise he might not see the last year on his contract.  Sad

Marseille is making mistakes every year and now they lost their player, Alexis Sánchez, This player is now a free player and he is a target for other teams like Iner Milan while Alexis Sánchez is a player Marseille needs him for the next season.
They also didn't invest much compared to other teams which can put this team in a bad situation.

Things are definitely not going as they should be for Marseille. Definitely, better performance was expected from them. And to be honest, I did not think that even in 1 million years, they were actually going to be beaten by Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualifiers. I genuinely do not understand how they managed to do that. The performance they are showing in the Ligue 1 has also not been good so far. I always say that a team performs as well as they should be at the start of the season. But this type of performance is a little too bad for explanation. They will have to get better otherwise there will be strict actions taken about/against the coach.

Luis Henrique has bad start with PSG in Ligue 1 after losing many points last two games, still can't win in last two matches could be warning for Henrique upcoming next match. Probably its not mistake from Luis Henrique disappointed result last two matches because PSG in not full squad after losing many important player, one day before Ligue 1 opening match, PSG have loss Neymar, Veratti and Mbappe automatically Henrique have change their squad for the first match.

Second match against Toulouse still difficult for winning match, I don't think what happen when next match if PSG still can't get first three points in Ligue 1, will Luis Henrique position keep secure?

PSG have made a big change especially in their attacking line. There is a completely new trio now. They started both games without Mbappe as well. As there is no good level of chemistry yet they are having difficulties in scoring goals. They barely scored in their second game which was even thanks to Mbappe's entering the game in the second half.

Until the new attackers get used to play together PSG can continue to struggle. Enrique would try his best to solve the problems as soon as possible. He is a really good manager actually but he just needs to be patient to see the development of the team using his system.

I see it as the primary defensive zone for Paris. They can make simple mistakes, they can cause various positions. Now the opponents are starting to score more goals against Paris. Enrique needs to find a solution if they want to be successful this year.
dont worry about PSG current performance because this could only be temporary and its only natural that Enrique is a new coach who needs time to adapt to uniting the chemistry of coach and player so that this is a normal situation in the world of football. I will not doubt PSG performance this season, even though I have not found the best strategy, but over time Im sure Enrique will find the best way to improve the performance of all PSG players.
TBH, at first I doubted how PSG future would be raised by coach Enrique who had not had fantastic experience in the past but nevertheless this was a choice that had to be accepted and convinced myself to believe that this coach was capable of making a good contribution to PSG.
I think it's not about worrying about how they are at the end of the season but about how they dominate.
PSG is one of the only clubs that is different in Ligue 1 in terms of their players and their finances so when PSG's performance is like now it is something wrong because with the money they have they should be better than they are.
With their current condition, it does not differentiate them from other "ordinary" clubs because they show ordinary performance.

Although we know the possibility of the championship definitely belongs to PSG for Ligue 1 but the fans and I as a connoisseur of football do not see anything from what PSG is doing now with their money because they are just an ordinary club without anything special as a big club.

I definitely do not think that Ligue 1 is actually a prestigious title anymore. I mean if you were going to win it every season without any problem, what is the point? There is no competition for them in the league. And still, they are not performing as dominantly as they should be.

When I said every player wants to leave, I meant that every player who is worth something and understands that they are not going anywhere by staying in PSG wants to leave. Whenever they find a little resistance, and they only find resistance in the Champions League, they are not progressing. So what is the point for a good player who actually wants to win something staying in PSG?

PSG will have to change their idea of having only good strikers in the team. They should try to make a balanced squad otherwise that "one day" of winning the Champions League is never going to come.
It's not a problem if you dominate Ligue 1 even for a long time without tough competition from other teams, such as Bayern who control the Bundesliga, but the problem is that they don't build this team strong enough to compete on the European stage like what has been done by Bayern Munich in the last few seasons.
PSG rely too much on the money they have to be able to achieve achievements, that's a big mistake, last season they brought in a lot of stars but in fact it wasn't enough for them to go further on the UCL stage, we have to look in the mirror at Man City before, they also had a lot of money but they never got achievements so they built this team for a long time so that now we can see the Manchester team dominate Europe.

This season I see that there are not many quality players at PSG anymore and in the first 2 matches they were quite bad, of course this will be a big burden for Luis Enrique this season.
And I'm not talking about Mbappe anymore now, whether Mbappe goes or not doesn't make PSG a big influence, this is a team not depending on just one player.

It's high time the club knows what they need and go for it, they can't keep signing frontlines without scanning the backlines, how these roles operates. The defenders are not fully positioned to win games, rather they keep making blunders that cost them to concede goals in league games. PSG coach, Luis Enrique should make more signings this season, in full focus on the defend and midfield, because that's where their problem originates from. PSG have missed out on big names this season, players that would have secured an easy win for the parisians have already exited the club.
I also see that problem in every season at PSG and it hasn't been resolved until this season so the advice you give is actually also more appropriate for PSG because they need to be able to focus on bringing in better players in midfield and defense. This was also revealed when PSG's front line became unproductive in scoring goals when there were no players who were good at providing passes from the back or midfield. So the PSG team must also be stronger on two lines that have not been their focus so far.

If that's the case, then I think PSG and Enrique should be able to focus more on their midfielders. Because at least, if they have good midfielders it will support PSG attack performance and defense performance to be better. So yes, as a renowned coach, it is appropriate for Enrique to realize the problems that occur at PSG. Because of course, if the problems experienced by PSG can be overcome quickly, then PSG will also be able to recover quickly of course this season and that is also a hope at this moment.

I see it as the primary defensive zone for Paris. They can make simple mistakes, they can cause various positions. Now the opponents are starting to score more goals against Paris. Enrique needs to find a solution if they want to be successful this year.

PSG have a lot of players in their squad. They have 7 attacking players in the squad, with a possible total of 12 midfielders. Even so, PSG's squad is weak. PSG pays high wages to players. PSG management should reduce their number of players. Reducing the number of players to keep essential and talented players in the squad. Despite having so many midfielders and strikers, we did not get a good performance from PSG. Luis Enrique should build a stable squad. PSG is the richest club. I think Luis Enrique will have the opportunity to build the squad as he wants. This season Enrique should have added his preferred players to the squad and sold additional players.
It looks like it won't be able to be done soon, because the transfer market only leaves a little time and will close soon, buying players in a hurry will actually have a bad impact because it might be wrong to assest players who are considered capable of contributing to the club.
Luiz Enrique only needs to maximize the existing squad and I think the material is not as bad as imagined, it's just that the previous two matches were quite unpleasant to see the results, but there is still a long way to go, PSG is very likely to develop and other clubs are experiencing the opposite , so that eventually PSG will slowly return to the top to lead the standings but if there are no changes in the next few matches, PSG owners will start to worry that the money that has been poured out for their club is in vain, because it is impossible for them to be able to compete properly in the champion league if it's just overwhelmed locally.

It will be pretty hard for Luis Enrique to actually be able to fix the issues that the coaches before him have actually created. They have a good attacking line, or I think I should say “Had” a good attacking line.

Right now, everyone is very eager to leave PSG. They do not want to be on the team anymore because they have realized that it is not going to get them anywhere. Ligue 1 title is not one of the biggest titles in the world, to be honest.

And if you are actually a player of PSG, I do not think that this title actually holds any value for you. With the amount of money PSG has, they are supposed to win this title. There is no fun in doing anything if it is not competitive. And where it is actually competitive, in the Champions League, PSG cannot do anything, to be honest.

They've always had the finest attacking set of players over the last few years, but failure to achieve Champions League success made the fans react for some players to leave the club. Two major players the fans really criticized last season during the Champions League game against Bayern Munich was Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. Glad they finally left for good.

Not every player wants to leave, League 1 had won almost every player silverware for the last five seasons. They're not just progressing when it comes to the Champions League. With the experienced Luis Enrique, he would make good additional players in midfied because that has been the loophole they lacked for years.

If the Club is indeed ready for Champions League Success, they finally have the right man with experience, now all that need be is to get special players to chase for that goal. Victor Oshime would be a great signature only if his transfer fee ain't too high.
Impossible is nothing when you work, believe and chase whatever you really want. Champions League would be a dream also for the Parisian one day.

I definitely do not think that Ligue 1 is actually a prestigious title anymore. I mean if you were going to win it every season without any problem, what is the point? There is no competition for them in the league. And still, they are not performing as dominantly as they should be.

It's very sad to know that a team like Marseille got kicked out from playing in the Champions league by Panthinaikos and I feel that's the reason for their poor performance in their league even while Metz got a red card they still find it difficult to turn the game around but ended up with a draw which means they probably would had lost if Metz where not given a red card.
I don't really think it's about the investment because while about 10 players departed the team including Alexis Sánchez and Dimitri payet that are free and without club currently, Marseille registered about 10 new signings though for cheaper prices amounting to €67.50m but they got some quality players like Renan lodi, from Atlético Madrid, Aubameyang from Chelsea, Sarr from Watford and Kondogbia from Atlético as well amongst others,  what I feel is that they didn't invest on more quality rather focused on the quantity and now some new arrivals are having difficulties in adapting to the team, also they shouldn't had let Sánchez leave he might be old but still has a lot to offer the team judging from his previous performance with them.

I saw that too. Metz got red card since 59 minutes. Marseille was only missing so many chances. The main problem was on its attacking line. marseille has same goal attempts like metz which is a shame for a club that has been placing at the top last season.

Marcelino had better find a solution as soon as possible. The earlier the team start playing better the higher Marcelino's chance to stay here for one more season.
The decision to not extend sanchez's contract is actually affecting the performance from attacking line.
I dunno what has been thinking by marseille. The club was not extending sanchez's contract while he was able scoring 14 goals last season for marseille. His contribution was a lot. Age meant nothing as long as the player can have stable performance.
It's probably a blunder being made by marseille.

Otherwise he might not see the last year on his contract.  Sad

I don't think Mauricio Pochettino and the previous coaches can be immediately blamed, because each coach has his own history. for now it is Luis Enrique who is fully responsible for PSG situation, I think Enrique already understood and agreed to the various consequences before signing the cooperation contract with PSG to become a coach. On the other hand, PSG management's decision to place Mbappe above other players is the source of the problem, Mbappe recently lost in the number of votes for PSG new captain.

True for Domestic League competitions in Europe, Ligue 1 occupies position number 5 after EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga. Another fact is that Mbappe would be called the best striker when playing in the EPL, because it is more competitive compared to Ligue 1.
Kylian Mbappe is PSG's golden boy so far he has not been touched. PSG also gives too much freedom and rights to Mbappe, so of course things like that disrupt the system they have built so far. Kylian Mbappe is recognized as a great striker and will be the best striker in the world in the future, but most people don't like his attitude.

Luis Enrique is still having trouble getting the best performance from PSG in his first two matches. PSG still failed to get maximum points, but I'm sure sooner or later Luis Enrique will be able to build PSG even better. Mbappe is a special player for PSG, but Enrique doesn't seem to rely entirely on Mbappe because he doesn't want to continue to depend on one player who has the intention of leaving at the end of the season.
The performance of other managers that once managed Paris Saint Germaine shouldn't be a yardstick to measure what Luis Enrique can achieve or is least expected to achieve with the French champions.
Enrique has managed the best players in the world and was able to work with them. He managed a Barcelona team that consists of the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez so it's not a new task for him to manage a big player like Kylian Mbappe and I'm sure he's gonna bring out the best from the France national team captain but that'll happen if the Frenchman extends his contract with PSG

Last season, PSG fans booed Messi as if PSG failure in the Champions League was purely because of Messi, even though PSG had 11 players and those 11 players were to be blamed, not Lionel Messi alone. It's true that sometimes the behavior of fans makes players uncomfortable at the club and I'm happy to see Messi and Neymar leave PSG because they are more comfortable at their new club than at PSG.

Apart from that, there is indeed a big curse for PSG in the Champions League because last season they had average players with pretty good quality, but they still failed in the Champions League.

This season, Fans have high hopes for Luis Enrique to be able to bring PSG to win the ucl trophy. So if Luis Enrique fails, will he be bullied by PSG fans?  I think the attitude of PSG fans is too selfish and can't accept failure.
The team is that when you're a star player playing below expectations it would be very easy to receive backlash from fans than other average players and with Messi being the most outstanding player in the world made it easy for fans to backlash him when the team underperformed, and I don't blame the fans because a team made up of world class players like Messi, Mbappe,Neymar, Sergio Ramos, and other  veteran players should be able to beat any team to the champions league trophy, but the opposition became the case and they didn't even qualify for the semi-finals too bad.
PSG really need  solution in winning the Champions League and alot was expected from them last season but they failed to deliver even with the very strong squad they had but it might even be worst than the previous season because they've offloaded most of their top players and even though they replaced them with some prospects they still looked tougher last season than this, their fans are desperately in need of the championship league trophy and if Enrique fails to deliver he'll definitely receive some backlash by some angry and impatient fans.

Neymar was good when he was on the field and played, but his instability in terms of readiness was a big minus. As for Messi, I have a different opinion - I think that he was pulling the team down. Statistically, "he passed and was helpful" but at what cost? Other players also make passes, but they are also involved in pressing and defending. Who is better - who made 20 passes but because of him there were dips in the center of the field or the one who made 10 passes but at the same time the center of the field was cemented? I think most coaches will choose the second option.

That is an interesting and rare point of view, but you are free to have your opinion of course. Wink I think 99% of coaches would immediately choose Messi over anyone else. Everyone knows that Messi isn't doing any work defensively, but the same counts for most players that are similar to him. Mbappe isn't working defensively, Ronaldo the same. Neymar rarely did it. It also comes at a cost when players like Messi are also supposed to work for the defense. The dips in the center aren't because Messi is focusing on the offense. It is because PSG's midfield wasn't good enough. Can't remember that Barcelona was a bad team because Messi weakened the midfield.

Yes, yes, in words, all the coaches (I believe you) would choose Messi. However, in actual actions, everything was somewhat different - even Guardiola (who in words is just a fanatic of Messi) came up with excuses for many years in a row when he was asked about the transfer of Messi to City  Grin
Failures in the center arose, of course, not only due to the fact that Messi did not work in defense, but also due to the fact that he did not move much, plus, probably, he began to lose speed with age. In fact now he is a very technical but slow player who is only good in some aspects. That is why he turned out to be of no use to anyone in Europe and ended his career here.

I know what you mean when you mentioned Guardiola, but I think that Guardiola was also saying something else. He has repeated numerous times that the Champions League wins he had with Barcelona were mainly due to Messi being by far the best in the world. Guardiola wanted to win that title without Messi as well. Guardiola also never cast the slightest of doubt that Messi is by far the best player who has ever played the sport. People can criticize everything they want in terms of Messi not working for the defense of his team, but as a midfielder and striker I think I have never seen a player who understands a game situation so quickly and so well and plays the ball with unprecedented precision almost every single time he passes the ball onto someone else. To me that has been overwhelming so many times that I was just nodding and thought wow, how the hell with the little space he was given was he able to play that pass or shot. In my opinion there is nobody like him. I also loved about him that he is not a diver. One of the smallest players on the pitch and yet the physical resilience of a real fighter. Hardly ever complaining when he was repeatedly attacked with the intention to hurt him. I think that's an amazing trait a player can have and not many players have it.
