When PSG signed Christophe Galtier at the beginning of the season many football analysts criticized the move because everyone expected the club to employ an experienced and well-known coach that will help them achieve their Champions League dream. Many people also felt That Christopher Galtier might not have the ability to manage and organize the quality of players that PSG has. But I was one of the people that supported the move because any coach can improve and perform excellently well. But he ended up accomplishing the same feat as others. I was sure he knew that he will be sacked when PSG lost the round of sixteen game against Bayern Munich.
Messi's departure is a big blow but the team still has a long time to replace him and they also have the financial backup. Mbappe needs to take charge of the leadership of the players because Messi was a threat to his powers as the captain. The club wants to reduce the number of big names and focus on building younger players under the leadership of Mbappe. And I think it is the best path for a club that has erroneously believed that big players could give them the Champions League trophy. To implement this new philosophy the club is considering Jose Mourinho, Thiago Motta, and Luis Enrique.
I often discuss Galtier in several posts. as I said in the previous post, Galtier is a potential trainer from my point of view. In fact, he once brought Lille to win the Ligue 1 trophy. At the start of his season with PSG, the results weren't too bad, you could even say quite impressive. however, it seems that what he applied to his team was not as easy as currently coaching other clubs. PSG is a big club, where there are names of players who have star reputations. rumors of problems in the locker room did not escape various media reports, whether it was because Mbappe, Neymar and towards the end of the season Messi were in the spotlight.
I don't think Galtier has full control of the PSG dressing room. plus, he is not empowered to hire players who suit his style and criteria. which in the end, like it or not, he always dismantles his system in every match with his team. Apart from that, the problem of injured players has not escaped being a problem for Galtier. which in the end, he failed to win the Champions League trophy.
I want to say based on personal opinion, PSG's problem is management. let's compare City, both clubs are owned by very rich people. but in fact, City is far more developed than PSG, even though they haven't won the Champions League trophy together. the difference is, City is handled by competent management in their field. while PSG, all the players want is the will of the owner. meaning, whichever coach is in charge of PSG, if they are not given privileges such as being involved in selecting players, leaders in the locker room, they will always find it difficult to win the Champions League trophy they have been dreaming of.
By the way, Messi's departure will have no effect on PSG. yes, they have enough funds to bring in the players they want. according to rumors, Julian Nagelsmann is currently the main candidate to replace Galtier. So, let's see and what PSG will do.
