Marseille continued their pursuit of PSG by winning 2-1 after losing the first half. Although they had plenty of shots in the first half, they couldn't get a shot on goal. For this reason, they conceded a goal on the first shot on goal. In the second half, Marseille increased the pressure and scored one goal after another.
PSG, on the other hand, suffered a 3-1 defeat at home against Lorient. Of course, Hakimi's red card played a big part in this. He left his team down to 10 men in the very early minutes and actually changed the fate of the match. Lorient, on the other hand, made the most of it and took the 3 points.
PSG are still 5 points in advance of Marseille with only 5 games left. The games left for PSG are easy so I assume they could win most of them. Marseille have matches vs Lens and Lille that will be challenging so the poursuit will not be easy at all.
Marseille have to win especially their game vs Lens to somehow secure the other Champions League spot, that's the important thing to achieve for them.

Five points is not too much especially when you think PSG had unstable results and lose many points in the games they normally should win, I think still there is a higher chance for PSG to lose points in the fine remaining games and Marseille can even use the chance to even win the title in this season, if that happens this can be a nightmare for PSG because they spend lots of money and they got nothing in the end.

Paris SG manages to maintain the 5 point difference and become the champion. It would not be correct to say that Marseille also achieved consistent results. In the last league match, they scored an important victory by scoring 2 goals in a row, but until that minute they were in a risky situation. If the same scenario happens in other matches, they may not be as lucky as in the Auxerre match. I think Paris SG will finish as champions again.

5 points may not be a big difference. Even so, PSG is still the most likely to win the title. Because each team will play only 5 matches this season. And it is unlikely that PSG will lose more than two of the 5 matches and their main rivals Marseille will win all of their matches. PSG's opponents in the upcoming matches are relatively weak. And I guess PSG will win all their upcoming matches. Marseille, on the other hand, have won all their last three matches. However, they have lost points in their previous two matches. It is very difficult for a team like Marseille to maintain the winning streak in the next 5 matches.

In my personal opinion, Marseille is playing better than PSG in terms of performance. Because with the kind of star players PSG has, every match needs to be secured by a wide margin, but PSG is failing to do so. Marseille, on the other hand, despite being a small team and without any big-name players in the squad, have been performing exceptionally well.

Until now this trio have been sharing the responsibility like equal and we have seen really great performances in times all of them are on the field. However I assume that PSG would think of a solution for that case as well. I mean that I wouldn't expect them to just make do with the departure of Messi and Neymar. They have a lot of money and they can build a new trio around Mbappe.
...

Messi and Neymar have a high probability of leaving the team. If Mbappe stays there alone, his responsibility will increase, but he will also gain an excellent opportunity as all offensive options for the team will be built on him. In such a scenario, he can increase his stats to incredible levels. He has already become the top scorer in the club's history, surpassing Cavani's record of 200 goals. If he stays there alone, he can set new records that will never be broken.

I think that it isn't the time for Mbappe to leave PSG yet. I expect him to go for at least one more year with PSG to see how things go. He is making a lot of money above all else and he wants to achieve the Champions League title with them as well. If Messi and Neymar leave soon then I wonder what Mbappe would be able to do. Because his responsibility level will increase by far compared to now.

Who knows maybe they already have a Plan B for this situation as well.  Grin

Neymar allegedly bought his contract from Barcelona to leave the club and go to PSG... I'm waiting for Mbappe to understand that it's time for him to buy out his contract and run away from PSG  Grin Haaland is already breaking historical records, while Mbappe is going out in a swamp. I remember him arguing that maybe he, like Ronaldo, would get his Ballon d'Ors not at a young age, but later, but with the way things are going, this will not happen even despite the advantage that Mabppe has in games with the national team.
I think Neymar is a player with great experience. But after joining PSG, Neymar's career was hampered by injuries. I think Neymar's career would have been better if he hadn't suffered so many injuries. There are some doubts about how Neymar will perform after returning from injury.

The point is that when Neymar moved to PSG, everyone thought that this player would be top 1 for the next decade, but in reality nothing like this happened and it’s not about injuries at all. Neymar always liked to have fun (outside of football) and it is unlikely that his attitude to work was 100% professional. All sorts of "needs" to celebrate his sister's birthday and other funny things. And all this coincided with the fact that PSG, although a top club, they play in the farmers' league ... and thus Neymar gradually disappeared. Mbappe is in danger of repeating his path, even if he is more professional in his attitude to work.

In my opinion, even though Marseille is favored to win this match, seeing that their opponent is Auxerre, I was hesitant to place a bet and in the end I missed this bet. But congratulations for your bet, maybe the unexpected thing for me is that Auxerre can beat Marseille with a narrow score of 0-1 because we know Auxerre is an underdog but often makes it difficult for top teams. An additional three points for Marseille made their distance to PSG even closer and only 5 points different. I think Marseille could have replaced PSG, if PSG continued to be inconsistent like yesterday's match and often received defeats.
marseille can maximize the opportunity to stick to psg at the top of the standings. but i don't think they are strong enough to knock psg out of the title race this season. The distance of 5 points will be the capital for PSG to return to winning ways next week. For marseille the win from auxerre can be a big motivation for them to put pressure on psg. Marseille can expect PSG to be inconsistent for the rest of the season which will provide a great opportunity for them to break PSG's dominance in the race for the championship.

but unfortunately for Monaco they lost points in two matches which made their ranking in the standings quite vulnerable to being moved by Losc next week if they fail again in the upcoming match.

In the summer Messi is quite likely to leave PSG you know. He still doesn't want to extend his contract with the team and this has created some disturbance among their supporters also. I remember them booing Messi in a league match some time ago also. But I don't think Messi cares about this situation at all. He just looks like he is looking for another opportunity to play for Barcelona before his retirement.

I understand him of course as he has played for Barcelona all the time before joining PSG. There were financial issues back then which prevented Messi from signing a new contract. I wonder whether this time Barcelona can sign him by not having issues with financial fairplay in the La Liga too. Xavi looks like he would love to see him back. If this doesn't happen then I think he would sign a one-year contract with PSG and move on.

I don't think he will feel like it is time for him to leave Europe this summer.

PSG played far from expectations in week 33, their statistics were far less than what Lorient got, and the visitors even scored PSG's goal before Ashraf Hakimi was given a red card. In my opinion, the defeat that PSG has just swallowed is very embarrassing, PSG, which has a number of great players, cannot get out of the pressure even though it has superior ball possession over the visitors.
Lorient appeared more effective in this match, they managed to record 14 kicks, seven of which were on target and managed to rip PSG net three times. The defeat to Lorient is the 6th time that has befallen PSG this season under Galtier instructions, PSG position is still safe in first place despite losing three points at home, PSG is only 5 points ahead of Marseille who won in the same week over Auxerre. Management must consider its decision to work with Galtier in the coming season because since Galtier was appointed as head coach, PSG has not experienced an increase in performance, especially in the Champions League.
Every defeat that a top team experiences to a relatively lower ranked team is always said to be embarrassing. But I'm starting to think that losing like that sometimes makes sense when you don't have a full squad and are down to 10 men from the middle of the first half.
PSG were basically able to offset Lorient's resistance in that match, but PSG's defense seemed to have problems when Lorient attacked. PSG's defense has been unbalanced this season, in fact they are quite weak compared to Lens who are currently in 3rd place in the Ligue 1 standings. PSG must find a solution for its defense, it will only be very balanced with its quality players in attack. Until week 33 PSG has conceded 34 goals, 3 goals higher than the number conceded by Nice. Obviously that is an unpleasant statistic for a team like PSG in my opinion.

The sad part is actually that PSG lost against a team that did not have any wins in the last 5 matches before facing PSG. And PSG is the leader of the table. It was of course expected that PSG was going to win the match. But the performance was not good at all.

To be honest, PSG had a lot of problems in that match as they already lost a player very early into the match because of a red card. After going behind in the 15th minute and losing a player on the 20th they actually did well to get level in the 29th minute. And it was also a good job for them to have control over the ball for a longer period of time. But nothing is going to be able to compensate for the loss.

PSG are still not in good condition even in the Ligue 1. They are regularly giving hope to their nearest opponents in the standings by losing games. This time they lost to Lorient home by a big score indeed. Hakimi's being shown two yellow cards very early in the game just made things harder for his team. He has the biggest part in this loss for sure.

Marseille won as well maybe but they are still five points away from the leader. There are five more weeks and Marseille need to win the rest of their games unless they lose their title chance mathematically. Otherwise nothing will change.
PSG team should perform better. If the team is at the top, then the team players need to ensure a great victory with the rest of the smaller teams. But how many matches PSG team is losing in such a way that it is really not acceptable.
Actually, PSG's defeat in yesterday's match had several mistakes that caused PSG to be bad when playing and I don't think PSG will always have such a bad performance, remember it's only temporary.
I am sure that PSG will also not want that in the first position it will be overtaken by Marseille with a small difference in points and I think that in the upcoming matches PSG will give a good performance for its team and start to give the points a bit further away from Marseille.
But PSG must really pay attention that Marseille is currently in very good condition and might be able to catch up with PSG's points.

To be honest, I see that Neymar's absence has made PSG's front line very chaotic, even though Mbappe and Messi have always been trusted upfront. Even though he hasn't played for a long time because of his injury, this season, Neymar is still ranked 2nd as the player with the most assists after Messi, if Neymar could recover faster then PSG's performance would not be as bad as this.
I agree with your words. Messi and Mbappe will not have the same understanding as Neymar and Messi. If Neymar had been in the team for a long time, I think he could have done more great things with Messi. We hope Neymar recovers quickly and returns to his best form ever.

Lorient's win over PSG at the Parc des Princes! Fans left frustrated with the team's poor performance, questionable management decisions, and disappointing overall. Sadly, their defensive statistics right now the worst. The red card given to Ashraf Hakimi, which left them with just 10 men on the field but losing 3-1 to Lorient not an acceptable outcome.
