And there we go. The real reason for this post. Advertising
Does this threads motivation have anything to do with the $50 dollar spin that win $42 million dollars? This is the part of your post which makes me think this is about a marketing gag and not actually a real win. Can you give us the winners transaction IDs? Or as other posters here have said: give us verifiable proof please.
It is strange that the casino itself would post a picture of one of their users holding a printed screenshot? Where did they get it from? Why can't they just post it themselves?
My thoughts exactly.
This form of advertising is so misleading. "changed the life of blabla", for 1 person to win big hundred others lose and unfortunately often enough this leads also to a change of their life, and not for the better.
Promoting gambling is ok, many here do it (such as me), but the "you can do the same" aspect is not really cool in my opinion.
They won't promote their biggest losers but 1 guy winning makes a story.
It's all the same in advertising in general. If they want to sell you a face cream they will hire Gal Gadot to advertise it, not the ugliest woman in the world. With this huge win the casino lost some money, and it is reasonable that they want to recover it somehow in the form of advertisement. Please, do not misunderstand: reasonable does not mean that I agree with it.
In fact, it is quite typical to include a clause in the T&Cs not only of casinos but when commercial brands hold a raffle, that say that if you are the winner you agree to give up your image, testimony, etc.
Of course, the case in the OP is the exception to the rule, but brain tends to think that what we see is more common than what we don't, because that's how the world has always worked. Until now.
