Jolly? I think I've heard that name before. hmm
Well so I was thinking how would users feel if actually there was some kind of Voice translation writing mode here in the forum so as to aid those who are not too good at typing or expressing themselves very well through writing to actually speak out their thought and it gets written down correctly for them  Angry.

In theory, writing is easier than speaking, so if someone has difficulty conveying through words then ideally it will be more difficult for him to convey through voice. So, I'm not sure that a proposal like this is effective, especially if during the discussion someone is typing and someone is recording their voice, it will look chaotic. In addition, it is more difficult if someone does not understand English, translating voice is more difficult than translating text

What's more, this is a web forum so ideally it's still written, if it's via voice it might be like a podcast

How you finna be able to read without getting inclined to writing 'em words?? It's even more easier to write than read...yeahh? I'm not actually referring to them usual slang you borrow on your daily interactions, conversations... I mean, just like you said - being able to express exactly what you want, with the right words... That's the stress...but you gotta be able to form these words and write them during the learning process....so the act of speaking fluently is made simple when there's proper understanding on how to write them words... You get my point??
Secondly, we've got them web tools too; just like the screenshot from a cellphone above.
The old man's been stimulated with too many patches by gloves already ain't no way he's gonna consider this...

Enabling this feature should be done on the client side, not the forum side. Any client application (in this case, a web browser) can support this feature depending on the platform. And I am willing to bet that there are already many browser extensions or virtual keyboards available with speech-to-text functionality. However, I am not sure how good they are and how effective they would be for forum use.

And I like the way you actually just threw your thought about this at least you weren't afraid to do because many people on the forum here are always afraid of been criticized but not knowing that's actually the way we grow as correction guide you be a better person.
Yo, been afraid of expressing yourself simply because you are avoiding backlash or criticism on a public space such as this is quite a funny thought to have. What's the worst that can happen? assuming you get roasted for airing your views on here, that's where it ends. that's one of the perks to anonymity We are in a forum where there's freedom of speech and so what if he gets lashed? He grows a thick skin. Besides, it's not every posts that receives such attack.
It's a good idea or suggestion the Op brought up, but I doubt Theymos will be bothered to implement such a feature since such can be found on our keyboards, right?

Would have been a cool idea mate, but I don't think there is any use for this option as it's already there as in your browser and you can simply just it there

Although I know it's a crazy idea but still it's a free community so I decided to speak out to see how many people actually have similar thoughts on the idea although I have a feeling I would be criticise on this but it's worth throwing the question out there. Lol

Your idea is a nice one but I don't think that such feature in needed on Bitcointalk because we can use such features by installing simple extensions. One such extension is "Voice In" that's available on chrome web store and it help to write anything that you speak. If we have such speech to text dictation extensions already available then it isn't a good thing to increase load on the Bitcointalk webhost machine by adding such processor intensive features. The forum is working well in its simplistic design and even someone with a low-end system can use this forum without any trouble. I hope that extension will work for you and you will enjoy using it.

This could be a cool idea, as their are lot of wasted English and ideas in someone’s head which they can’t even voice out, but the forum don’t actually need to enable something like that I other for them to voice out their mind and it will be written down.

Anyone who is having issue with writing technology have now made it very easy for the in the aspect of allowing them to use the voice recognition which usually comes with almost all keyboards for the mobile users they will just have to enable it and do the talking why the keyboard helps them in doing the writing, then they can check it back again to see if what was written is actually what they pronounced, since intonation is really lot of people’s problem.

As for those who are using pc, they can also look for such app if they don’t have one on them they can install it from online, if not some pc usually have that option if am correct you just have to locate it and activate it, those who are not good in writing will survive even without the help of the forum activating such in it, as that will be another task added to the todo list.

This will be a disruptive and unnecessary feature for BitcoinTalk. The only use case i see is... Some of the OG members from the forum who usually write mega threads could use these features. If any forum members have any defaults in their typing hands, a build-in feature like this might help them as well.

I think this will just increase the work force of the forum development team because of the regular maintenance. This will increase the spam content and reduce the quality of the post because of the grammar mistake and inaccuracy. Also I don't think they have any plans to implement these features at any time.

This is actually a nice feature to have. It saves a lot time especially if you have a lot you want to say and you can also multi task while being on the forum. It’s a good idea IMO, but since this “microphone to text” feature is already available on the keyboards of mobile devices and I use it often as well. I wonder if Theymos would consider it a bugging concern for the forum.

It's a good suggestion anyway but I doubt if theymos will implement that and also what you should know is that write is the best why because some people don't speaks fluently maybe their intonation might be bad from your hearing. I could remembered a VC we did then on TG and many of our people finds it very hard to grasped what the foreigners were saying. So at the end it was summarize and documented to enable those who didn't get the whole speaking reads through the doc. So in may opinion that option should be there as well but somehow it could be very much better if this forum is like an app I think that will work very fine and smart, although it would consumer alot of space and we might be finding it difficulty to load the site since is on web.
Hmm, okay I see your point there mate but I don't think I intend it to be posted as a voice note although it will also be cool to see that but like you said alot of confusion will be in place in terms of grasping the language intonation. I actually was on the idea of user actually speaking there mind and then some kind of software actually write it down as writing clearly just like the Google voice option in the phones.
