The mass adaption is not yet happening. Bitcoin is still struggling in the stage of where people are still doubting bitcoin and they are still skeptical about it but it doesn't mean that bitcoin has no chance at all. As of now, we cant tell even more or those articles dont prove what will happen in future. but we can expect that BTC will help us to earn and learn. if everyone is open minded to accept it, it will be starting of our new lives using btc as our main virtual currency.. is this happen gold and fiat currency may disappear? I never thought that bitcoin would collapse in the future. precisely in the future bitcoin will be increasingly developed and known to many people. I am optimistic because since bitcoin was launched until now the number of users is always increasing every year and bitcoin also already has a large trading volume. and every year I hear that there are companies or industries that adopt blockchain technology. this all proves that bitcoin will continue to grow. and its value will rise again because the number of bitcoins left is getting smaller while the demand is increasing.
Last six years bitcoin looks better although have many problem with government to make bitcoin lower price, but crypto still stronger have pass than six years and for the future bitcoin will have potential with higher price, bitcoin for the future become more fantastic than right now with price under $10k, at the future bitcoin price will higher and pass above $30k for investor can get much profit with bitcoin investment.

I don't think Bitcoin would collapse. It's highly unlikely to happen since only few countries have banned it's use. Its trades are still running and relevant to the current age, especially the blockchain technology that is not limited to cryptocurrencies but also for other applications online, in politics, etc. Even if the prices are going down, if you look it in the long-run, I think Bitcoin would still be at top for another decade or so. I save and hold my money in several altcoin kinds and I don't so serious about how bitcoin price at the future, higher or lower is not have to worried, but when bitcoin higher will allow by altcoin or not because many moment when bitcoin up altcoin keep down but when bitcoin down altcoin always drop.
