If you have problems to sync your wallet please try this:
1. close your wallet / shutdown frozend
2. add the additional nodes below in your frozen.conf
3. restart wallet / frozend
addnode=fz.mine-pool.net
addnode=fz2.mine-pool.net
addnode=144.76.91.109

Just wanted to say thanks - adding those got my wallet to finally start syncing...
The OP could perhaps do with being updated, as that advises you to use frozencoin.conf instead of frozen.conf (or would either one work?...)

There are no botnets (yet) for Frozen-minings (as it is based on QUARK), and for GPUs there are only closed-source-miners available, which take some of the gains. All in all CPU and GPU are still quite close with this coin. With a not too bad desktop I7 you should get on a pool still about 100 FZ / day. And remind: the block reward will be halved in a few days from 50 coins to 25 coins (and decreasing) => mine better now than later :-)
I quit mining-)))) It is not even funny. It will take some months for me to achieve such results and there are lots of people with botnets and rigs 
Give or take 3 days until it half's to 25. Currently on block 67,000.

Is it too late to join mining already? Though difficulty doesn't look very high...
I am still able to solomine on 7970 getting 500coins or so per day. NOt bad at all still. CPUs also give a lot of hashing power to this coin. Mined over 1500 in over 2 days With smelter miner? I only get 1.6 Mhash with an R9 280x. (which is an improved 7970)

GGiner has offered to make a site where people can buy Frozen with USD/Eur. He is currently making LocalQuarkCoin and wants to make one for Frozen after he's done with that one. Actually raist, Microsoft azure is offing a free cloud computing trial worth 200 bucks. If you're desperate for Frozen, you can use it to mine with 20 cores for about 4 days which will get you about 1000 FZ give or take currently. Youtube link below showing how to do it.

I must admit, I do not know why Frozen is special - but it is a crypto coin and given away for free. Therefore I support Frozen Coin to be added to cryptsi ;p
