I used to do cutting classes when I was in my high school days just to play cards outside near to our school , I just stopped gambling when my teacher told my mother what are the crazy things I've done in school ,my mom was so angry with me because she thought that I doing good to my class specially that I am a girl but I already kearned my lesson.
I remember the old times when I’m also addict with computer games and other card game here in my place, I also do cutting classes before but I think that is where I learned how to gamble can’t say its addiction but I think its more on pleasure. Well, I do gamble buy never found myself an addict on that because I’ve done it occasionally. You should learn to control yourself and prevent from being addict in gambling because your life is in risk if you continue to become greedy.

I don't have a interesting story with gambling addiction because I saved myself few years ago from being an addicted to gambling. I start gamble at the beginning in some online sites but I used there only a real currency I was normal, I play like a normal gambler did but when I started using crypto, my gambling activities are increased too much because I liked the way to gamble with crypto. I used directbet.eu it's my first gambling sites which accept crypto. It was the best really, hopefully the site now is closed, it saved me too become an addicted in gambling.

I'm not that addicted, because when I was new to the bitcoin community all that I know is, bitcoin can be used for gambling. The same mentality drive me towards sports gambling where I earned as well lost in a random manner. When a made a calculation altogether I have lost more than two bitcoin overcoming the profit. By that time gave a break to gambling.

people who have become addicted will experience a very difficult life. they will get a lot of life trying because they have chosen wrong. avoid addiction and never consider gambling a game that makes money. suppose gambling as an entertainment and you will get a much better peace. if you consider gambling as a job then it is certain that your future will be full of trials. believe that this will hurt yourself and your loved ones.
I thought it was a game which is totally depending upon the luck of the person and when we see this thing, we find it true that luck has the major role in the winning of gambler in gambling. Giving yourself a lot of chances will definitely make you an addict and this is not only in the case of gambling but also every game you play, if you will keep on trying it will make you an addict.

On the contrary, I really started to get addicted to gambling when I was already have a established job and one of my mates there will urge some of us to go on a casino or even a cock fighting event. So we will go out a hour before then just go on a wild spree then, casinos, then horse racing and then cock fighting. That's how I got hooked and up to this day I'm still playing in a casino but I learn to prioritizes things now because I have my family to feed. However, looking back, it was one hell of ride specially when you are still young and doesn't have any responsibilities in life.

Personally I'm never gamble until addicted. But I'm ever got addicted when some dice site launch a promo and I won those promo.
For somehow I keep gamble until I'm finally lose at the long term from that moment I realized the addiction of gamble was real !

Too sad you have lost the profits that you have won, it just went on nothing, there is a saying said that "you already got the money but you just turned it into a stone" I hope you get what I mean. Gambling itself is no good, what more addiction is, I guess if you can't help but to gamble, at least it is important that you know how to control yourself from betting, because sometimes, if you are not going to stop on betting, you are going to lose your money as always.

What is the current status of your now. Have you completely stopped gambling or you still gamble but occasionally and have you reached your legal age before you can actually visit the casinos in your country? Luckily you got out in the right time before you become addicted to it and wasting your life and leaving studies.

I quit gambling long time ago when I was on the verge of becoming an addictive gambler. I used to gamble regularly with my friends and I found it entertaining until it started to affect my studies and social life. Then, I tried to reduced my gambling activities.

Then, I got rid of it completely as I got used to the new routine. It was hard from the beginning, but then you will get used to it because your time is filled up with other various activities

Quite good that you are out today of this gambling else sure by now you would have lost few thousands of dollar if you had become a addictive to it and keep gambling. It would have even effected your relationship and health too a great extent.

Great decision ha has made. I thought that gambling is bad for our income since it will have a negative effect if lossing is in a streak. But for some reason, if we gamble with our convenient time and our extra money then there is nothing bad to it.
No, there is nothing good at all in gambling. If you have big money and you want to waste it with immediate effect, only then gambling can service you more than anything. But here you have to think whether to go for earning money or losing money.

The choice is totally buyers and now this would affect your coming life. If you choice for gambling, may god help you and give you blessed mind.

Thats great to hear some gamblers changing routine and doing straight to goodness first of all i Salute you mate for dealing that hardship th become gambling free person.

I use to be a gambler when i was young until i become mature ani dont know its just i forget about playing, not unless some friends coming tl my house and wanted to play cards with betting thats how i enjoyed playing now without going to casino nor playing online
I also appreciate that person we has made that tough decision and willing to stand on it till his last breath. Not only me, but I think every single person who reads this comment should appreciate that guy for his doing so that he can stand on his decision and never think that he people don’t have anything to do whether he is gambling or not and goes again for gambling.

High school days are full of fun specially cutting classes just to play games with your friends and it's all part of the life at least you learned your lesson. As i do learned my lessons too when they call out my parents to school because i wasn't in the school for almost 2 weeks and my teacher thought that i am just sick but i am just addicted to any gambling games before when i was in high school that makes me cutting classes just to play those games. lol

Just curious to read some addict or former addict stories and probably some of us like me will be glad to see how things actually did roll in for them during this period and I believe some other persons tending towards that path can also learn from it. Also, if you have a friend or relative you can speak for, it would be appreciated.

Personally, this is what I would like to know though.

1. How did you find yourself ending up to become an addict? What instigated it to the point that you just found yourself not being able to control the impulse any longer? What was the feeling like and during those period of being an addict, did you know and were you willing to pop out of it?

2. What were the steps you took or the steps you are taking to get out from it, and on the scale of 1 to 10, how can you rate how you are doing now?

3. For those who are out of it, do you still gamble or still wish you could? In the case where you are still gambling, how do you want to make sure what happened initially does not end up repeating itself.

4. Any other thing you feel you can add is welcome.
I started get addicted in gambling when my friends invited me to come at the casino to play just for fun, but it turned out i mostly play gambling to gained profit that is why i started to get addicted with it. I started noticing it when all of my savings are gone, then i started quitting gambling and start focusing working on my job and my family.

the first time the most influential on gambling addiction is the friend who is there. someone who first played gambling, and the next day would accept a call from a friend to play again. that's what I've experienced and it's so much fun. but when I accept defeat, it is very painful and that is why I started to leave gambling.
You need to get rid of friends who try to accompany you to gamble. If you waste too much money in gambling you will realize that the money only goes one way if you dont get lucky. Then its only the casino which is making money even when you think you have won big since the number of losses will be bigger than the number of wins.

Its not about victory  or defeat. In gambling the odds are against you so whenever you have started gambling you have already lost.

Look, people gamble in order to get instant profit and the way you are talking like is about wise people or gamblers. We are discussing gamblers which are addicted and now can not survive without gambling and made it a necessary part of life.

We have heard and seen many addicted stories about gamblers and in our community as well. Addicted people do not think mush besides gambling and all the time they want to spend is in casinos and gambling places.

I used to gamble everyday ,morning until dawn with my friends or neighbors, at first all I want was to enjoy myself but later on even how many times I loss still I keep on coming back hoping that I can win. I've been a iresponsible mother with my son and depend my responsibilities to my parents. I onced pawned my jewelries or valuable things just because of gambling that's how addicted I am in gambling now I am thankful that I can control my addiction. Yes, I still play but it is not like before I know my priorities and I do not want to risk my family just because of gambling.

Sad to hear your stories but I know that is the norm for most addictive gambling because I know a lot of people with similar stories. Families are shattered, life are broken because that one gambling bet that we did in the past will haunt us for the rest of our lives.

I'm glad that I didn't go that far though, was able to control before its too late, although the damage has been done on my end, I was able to repair it and just gamble when I have the time and just having fun and not totally wanted to look at it as a 'daily job".
Very true. Actually, I can say for my granddad and it did not really go well for him. Dead now though, but he was very wealthy, had fleet of businesses, pump stations, auto stations, and few other bringing in money for him until from the story that I heard, that a friend of him introduced him and he got overwhelmed, started gambling and selling some of his things just to try to recover losses, the sons felt it which one happens to be my dad as they could not even pay for school fees, and they had to start finding a way to cater for themselves. Eventually he lost everything and he used his last years becoming a nuisance and a liability to his kids eventually. It is crazy people still do not learn from other's experience though and this really made me to stay away from gambling.

I used to play poker online. As i have temember, i was pregnant wiyh my first child at that moment. At first, i was just like to ease my boredom since i have a delicate pregnancy and was not allowed to go out at home regularly, So i tried looking for online games. But the things is i am sort of liking the game and almost got addicted into it. Been experiencing so many sleepless nights which is bad in my condition and in a day instead of sleeping, i was still hooked with in front of my laptop and keep on playing. Until i realized that it is not just bad for me but most importantly to the baby inside my tummy, so in an instant i quit.

Hard story to believe though. Grin

No one can quit from gambling instantly once they addicted to it but you may think too much about the baby will help you to get out of it. Loneliness is is also an important reason of getting addicted to something at that time you were spend too much time on online gambling resulted addiction for you but luckily you get out for a good cause.

Nice thread with some real experiences. Mine will not be that interesting as I have already overcome addiction.

This story is of two brothers who introduced me to gambling. Their current age will be about 40 and 32. Both were addicted to gambling. The older brother started with offline gambling and was also involved in various other illegal activities. The younger one was having some part time job t pay for bills and the money he used to loose on gambling online. Their parents knew about this but they perhaps gave up on them. Lat time I checked  about them, all 4 were living in a rented room of 100 sq feet.
Yeah, experiences that are worth reading and nice one for the OP to come up with this and pretty sure it is a thread that will keep going on and on. I have never been addicted to gambling anyway simply because I have always known gambling to never come with a good story at the end of the day and that makes me to keep it simple or try to avoid it.

I once started gambling but as time goes on, I started feeling uncomfortable based on the fact that I just felt immediately that I am gradually losing it, which made me to drop it. It is not something hard to do, because I know once addicted, it is always like you are trapped in a very deep hole and it would only take some luck and inner strength to get out from.
