This applies to trading as well. The moment you let the greed take control it fucks you up. I know it from experience. Either when trading or when gambling you need steel like nerves and act like a damn computer without any emotions. This is how successful traders/gamblers act. You shouldn't let anybody affect your emotions.

This is the best approach to gambling, imo, and I'm using it too. There are people, film critics, who are paid for watching movies, but this profession is very rare, and it's safe to say that 99.99% of us, regular movie goers watch films for entertainment purposes, not to earn money with that. And that's how I see professional gamblers, they are like those film critics, people of very rare occupation. For us, regular folks, it's pretty stupid to think that we can be like them.

But they're talking about professional gamblers, they can get constant profit even they're not winning because they have sponsorships. They're joining professional leagues that are popular and even if you lose in the game, there's still a profit but not that big unlike winning the game.

So it's different from casual gamblers that when losing, there's no money left in their pocket.

Constant profit is very impossible for those who are just gambling casually.

Like you said, betting in sports is different compare to betting in casino games. Overall, gambling as a profession is still possible but I don't know how long they can be one.

That's a good question. Unlike other activities where one is successful, gambling should necessarily be stopped at one point.

Liv Boeree can serve as good example. Being a professional poker player with total earnings of $4 million, she decided to quit professional poker while on top, in November 2019. Great move, imo.

It can be profitable in the long run but not all of the gamblers can achieve that percentage of win and achievement. I know people that earns with sports betting and poker.

But with casino games, it's just an addition to them but they have their own mastery and preferred games which they are very familiar with.
