Going by the age factor you mentioned, it can be deduce that the person is of middle age, and is always expected that at that age if you get yourself a good amount of money, what is utmost expected from you is to make good investment of such money. as a gambler, there are some days that the fruit of your labor will come out successful, and the only way you can show for the fact that you've been a successful gambler is what you've been doing with those money you've been winning over time, so the young man was wise enough to invest the money he won through gambling into a transportation business and it shows that he knows what he is doing.

It all matters with someones perspective and decisions towards their lives on which not all people would really be having that kind of mindset when it comes on securing their winnings.

People in my locality have this conception that, any money won from gambling, or gotten from any other source that seem illegal, can't be used to do anything good in their lives. But they don't know that, the believe they hold tight is just the reason they misuse the money from gambling. But my believe has always been neutral, because your spending decision I'd your choice to make. However, one could use the money to start up a business. Reality check: There is no guarantee that you can win the bets and make money that can be used to restore whatever you are hoping would restore and thinking in that way is wrong and which is what leads for someone to gamble for wrong reasons. Some people may just not be lucky as this guy, but I like the guy that he dd not misuse the luck he has with gambling. Yes, not only can gambling be a hope restorer, but it has also been a life changer to many who gambled and luckily won a huge sum, because one similarity I have come to notice about all those who won this huge sum while gambling is that non ever knew they will win when they won, but it all came as a surprise, hence, this should be a lesson to all of us to always have an open mind while gambling, so as to accept whatever result that may come our way with an amount we can always afford to lose, so that if we win, we accept it that way, but if we lose, we also accept it with good fate without regret. However allocating money from gambling winnings to some other more useful things is indeed a very good idea, anyone can do this because every gambler must have their own luck to get a win and it is a choice whether you can humble greed not to put the winnings back on gambling and prefer to put it on something more useful as the OP said that the person he found preferred to buy a new bus as a means of business or not.

I understand that it is not easy to do this, but I think you make it easy if you have a proper understanding of gambling such as "gambling is a probability activity" with this I think you are less likely to apply greed for something bigger because you understand that this victory is generated because you are lucky, and on the other hand as we know that anyone will never know when he will be lucky. Yes gambling wins can bring about a whole lot of joy and relief. Definitely when a gambler makes wins he would be very happy especially in cases where he never thought he would. As a responsible gambler it gladdens my heart always whenever I hear a fellow gambler testify of how he won a bulky amount of money from be it a bet or lotto and uses that money to inject into something meaningful for himself.

It all happened on my way home just this evening. I boarded a public bus and just in front of me were seated two young men too in their late thirty's having a conversation and from the conversation it sound like they haven't met for a long time and one was telling the other of how he had won a big amount of money from a lotto he played and he has used the money to get himself a new bus for public transportation business.

According to him, he once had a bus before which he was using for the transport business (carrying of passengers) but was seized and confiscated by the authority for he used it in conveying contraband goods of which he was hired to carry to some location by the goods owner on the way law enforcement agents stop them did a search and that was how he lost that vehicle.

So winning that money he quickly went ahead to get a new bus to continue his public transport business. From his voice he seems like one whose lost hope has been restored by that single win.
