Seriously I agree with you on this, in fact the gambler rushing off to buy a rid for transit that means he has all long planned on what he will use the money for ones he wins, same thought as you he might have lost something valuable like the ride he later bought or might have depended on gambling in the past and lost way too much and had a pre plan that one’s he wins he will execute the current plans, I strongly doubt this is a story of a first timer, although there could be such person since we have extremely brilliance and business oriented minded people here too.

So even if he fluke his way into the gambling and got lucky, i Believe even after investing he will still come back to the casino or site again to gamble more because that’s our nature and no body will actually wants to leave off where he gets money from. He will want to go and try his luck again
It's a interesting perspective on the psychology of gambling and the motivations behind an individual purchasing a luxury item, like a car, after a winning streak. The gambler rushed off to buy a car could suggest a thoughtful strategy. Their Losses experiences raise the possibility that the purchase of the car is either a triumphant moment for someone who overcame previous losses or an attempt to recover losses through a winning streak.

People who have been involved in gambling for a while might develop certain patterns or strategies. The allure of trying one's luck again, even after a successful venture, is a common behavior among gamblers. The thrill of winning, coupled with the desire for more, often leads individuals back to the casino or gambling platform in the hope of replicating their success.

Well, you are right. One thing that actually makes me happy about the kind of lifestyle some gamblers have is that they usually put good use to the bulky money they earn from gambling. As a matter of fact, this kind of thought was actually going through my head before I created the topic: What good use have you actually put to the money you won from gambling? On that topic, you can read the reply.

Those that put good use to the money they win from gambling are those that at least prove to some anti-gamers that gambling is not a taboo in society but a thing of fun and is actually helping people too.

Some compulsive gamblers made some people have bad perceptions about gambling, while those who chose to be addicted gamblers were the ones who actually chose their faith. They should be blam instead.

I can't be doing something, losing money at the top of that thing, and still sticking to it; that's bullshit. I wonder how addicted gamblers even enjoy gambling any more.

According to him, he once had a bus before which he was using for the transport business (carrying of passengers) but was seized and confiscated by the authority for he used it in conveying contraband goods of which he was hired to carry to some location by the goods owner on the way law enforcement agents stop them did a search and that was how he lost that vehicle.

So winning that money he quickly went ahead to get a new bus to continue his public transport business. From his voice he seems like one whose lost hope has been restored by that single win. Gambling can be a life saver too for it's not as bad as non-gamblers portrays it. To all gamblers' when you get lucky make good use of your gambling win do not chase for double portion.

Ok, the question is what if he is approach by those person who hired him to take those contrabands? Did those people at least compensated him when his bus what confiscated by the authorities? Did the police didn't take him in jail for finding contraband in his bus? And what if this person/s learn that he did win big and that's why he was able to buy a new bus? His life could be in danger by talking to this bad individuals already.

But in any case, it's good for him to win and started his business again. This are the things that we want in gambling, getting lucky and winning so that we will have a good life or at least provide for our families.

There are so many ugly stories untold, behind his timely success... would you believe that too?? Sometimes, maybe he had to sell off his old ride or give it out as a collateral, just to try his luck and it cut...

AFAIK, there are so many scandalous act recorded all through the years(ever since gambling was accepted), that has risen the public's attention and have been summed up by apprehending the culprits involved... nobody wants to be sentenced for squandering people's funds on gambling so he was solely responsible for his fate... Good or bad

What about those who did not win still? Will it just be hope for life? The only instance we could say gambling restored our hope is simply once we experienced winning and with the same extent, not all people have won in lotteries or have won jackpot prizes in casinos. It just depends on your fate as a gambler and that is a variable no one has control.

That type of hope could be depressing. Waiting on gambling and constantly playing, hoping for that big win till there isn’t any money to play with again. That’s not hope in my book.
Not everyone is lucky and as gambling is majorly more of luck than anything else needed to win, it’s of no use putting your hopes on being lucky enough to win at gambling. You’re more likely to get your hopes crushed repeatedly than getting lucky enough to win a huge sum. That’s if you don’t go broke first.

Congratulations to him as he was able to recover and bounced back to his transportation business through his gambling winnings, and thank God he was not greedy enough to re gamble with the money to see if he could win more out of it again.

At least there was some good fortune made for him from gambling, and many who are close to him could be able to see that there is still some little good that can come out of gambling, and not just one playing and losing all the time all in the name of trying luck and wanting to win it all at once.

It works for Mr. A does not mean it will also work the same way for Mr. B, so we can use others success stories to proceed, but we should not allow it to blindfold us as it might not be our lucky day, and we should always learn when to call it a day.

Your points are clear and a pretty advise to everyone who choose to indulge into gambling. Gambling has both the sweet and bitter part, so when each season comes having no choice than to appreciate and sustain through if it sadly gets to the bitter part.
I liked what the man there did by investing it physically to fetch him money to carter for his cost of living instead of making rational decisions that he will end up regretting.

As a responsible gambler it gladdens my heart always whenever I hear a fellow gambler testify of how he won a bulky amount of money from be it a bet or lotto and uses that money to inject into something meaningful for himself.

One lucky guy, but this is the first thing that I thought when I read the title here. It must have been someone who won in lottery and then go about it by investing that money into business or any thing that can make him grow his money, and build generational wealth for his family, his kids and grand kids.

But this kind of opportunity happens only once and not everyone has that luck to win big in lottery. And hopefully, not go back to gambling that money soon and think that he can replicate it and won big. It's better to just enjoy your winnings and then think about the future and it's good that gambler friend is doing the right way here.

There's nothing "wisely" you need to go about when gambling. Well, the only thing you'd ever consider wise about it is if you don't expect any damn hope from it. From what you've said OP I think what you were considering as wise were the decisions those men made AFTER he won, not during. Massive difference between the two. Never hope for something when gambling. It's not there for you in the first place to earn money, it's for the company owners to earn money from you instead.

But anyway, glad for whoever you heard of it from. Hope he doesn't fall into similar situations like others who squandered their money even if they had plans similar to what you were talking about OP.

If we begin to see gambling as a "hope restorer", people will begin to go extra miles just to see their hopes restored through  gambling and this is not a good sign. Rather than restore hopes, it might even ruin hopes and cause many other ruins if they do not control themselves.  A lot of People have really been lucky in the gambling industry and it gladens my heart when I get to know that the gambling win was being put into good use to generate more income. This is to show that not all gamblers are irresponsible as non-gamblers paint it. Stories like this should be encouraged, just maybe it will stimulate those who cannot give account of their gambling wins to do better next time.

That happens sometimes so, it's a good thing that guy won and was able to buy back and start again his business with the money he's won from gambling.

But isn't it when a business that was raided and related to bring contrabands, is the owner gonna get some ban, right? If that's not on his case then let's just be happy that he's back on track.

And hopefully, that he'll manage to win some more and won't associate a lot with gambling anymore when he's back in business.

As a responsible gambler it gladdens my heart always whenever I hear a fellow gambler testify of how he won a bulky amount of money from be it a bet or lotto and uses that money to inject into something meaningful for himself.

It all happened on my way home just this evening. I boarded a public bus and just in front of me were seated two young men too in their late thirty's having a conversation and from the conversation it sound like they haven't met for a long time and one was telling the other of how he had won a big amount of money from a lotto he played and he has used the money to get himself a new bus for public transportation business.

Winning in gambling really helps, especially if you are not addicted to it, most or common among those who win in gambling is that they also bet what they win. For me, gambling really helps those who have control because once they win big, it helps a lot.

That's a nice story.
Yes, I love hearing good things that came from gambling. Somehow it also boosts my discipline to be a responsible gambler because somewhere in the future we might be that guy in your story, hitting big, and we could end up having a business too. As long as we stick to being responsible gamblers before and after the win.
I've read a lot of popular athletes stories and most of them are wrecked by gambling. You name it, from boxers to basketball players, a lot of them are ruined financially because of their gambling addiction although they won't admit it because it will stain their name. But some proofs show they had been coming in and out of the physical casino sites.
From millionaires to zero. Vice versa with us, we want to be millionaires so I think we will be more responsible once we reach that goal. Cheesy I'd really like to invest in real estate if I had the money because the value here in our place appreciates a lot every year.

Let love lead
Gambling sometimes is very beneficial, especially to those  who are disciplined enough and have good plans for their life, its very important to have your life properly  planned out even before money comes your way, lest you're prone to wasting such funds. The guy in question surely knew what he wanted before the win came along, him winning the money was just like answered prayers and he utilize it according to existing plans.

Gambling fund saves those who are wise and not addicts who might put the acquired funds back into gambling thinking that their luck has started to shine and losing everything in the process. If you gamble in moderation, and the tables turn in your favor, your in the best position to utilize it profitably. We need to have plans about our lives at every moment, so as to utilize opportunities properly when they present themselves, just as the man in question above.

Wise decision you say OP. Gambling is a risk, and do you think that so many persons believe taking risk is a wise decision? Taking risk is a terrible decision in my opinion that is why it is advisable to gamble with money we do not have a serous need for. Using your emergency fund, money for monthly expenses and investment to gamble is not a good idea. I have a different amount i keep for gambling of which i know if i lose any day i won't be depressed or be in debt.

From his voice he seems like one whose lost hope has been restored by that single win. Gambling can be a life saver too for it's not as bad as non-gamblers portrays it. To all gamblers' when you get lucky make good use of your gambling win do not chase for double portion.
Yes, not only can gambling be a hope restorer, but it has also been a life changer to many who gambled and luckily won a huge sum, because one similarity I have come to notice about all those who won this huge sum while gambling is that non ever knew they will win when they won, but it all came as a surprise, hence, this should be a lesson to all of us to always have an open mind while gambling, so as to accept whatever result that may come our way with an amount we can always afford to lose, so that if we win, we accept it that way, but if we lose, we also accept it with good fate without regret. Rather than gambling all you have with the mindset gambling will someday restore your hope.
It can only be a hope restorer with luck. I think this part is very relatable. Most of the times i get to win in gambling is when i gamble with the last penny i kept for gambling and luckily i win with some extra bucks on top. So yes, there is hope when there is money to gamble if you are out of gambling funds there is no hope.

Honestly these fairytale stories that constantly seem to pop up on the forum are a bit ridiculous and barely comprehensible or logical half the time. You know contraband usually refers to illicit goods, right? As in he was breaking the law and that's why he got a vehicle seized, so is hardly in need of sympathy. How does he jump from running a public transportation business, which would suggest he is carrying passengers, and end up transporting goods instead?
It's a pity you assume this real life story to be a fairytale but it's cool, you can see it in that light or which ever way you choose however I don't know why I should be cooking up fairytale story as this I wonder who I am impressing here.

Over here people buy 18 seaters buses a good example is Toyota Hiace bus and use it for intra-urban  transportation business, a single individual can decide to hire the bus for a short time service for his private use (provided he can pay for the service) either to carry some items or goods for them to another location. And it's a common thing over here in my country. Anyways, I don't have anything to prove to you real or fairy tale, the message from the story is clear and that's what I have just shared as I witnessed it.

To be it sounds like a reasonable story. Here in my country there are several military checkpoints along the inter-state highways,.the military have the authority to stop and search for merchandise on both personal vehicles and buses, if they find a bus transporting anything they consider to be unlawful, like a important amount of Merchandise, they would seize it all and the ownership over the bus itself could be lost in a legal limbo. Sadly that is how corrupt the business of transportation is here.

So, in my eyes and knowing how things work here, I personally believe that gambling story to be within the real of the reasonable.
On the other hand, while there are indeed stories about how gambling can change life in a very positive way, those are not the norm, they are the exception, because it is obvious that if all gamblers could share Stories like those ones, then casinos would not be profitable businesses, and there would be easy to see people here in the forum talking about earnings and winnings, instead of addiction to gambling or chasing losses.

Like most people have already pointed out the guy in question was lucky with his game because a lot of people have also placed bets with similar amount that he did but unfortunately for them they lost everything.

While some have some really strong plans for what they want to do when they hit a jackpot but up till this day they still haven’t been lucky enough to hit one – it’s not like everyone wants to waste their gambling money (although some actually squander their wins on meaningless things) but we have people that legitimately have good plans but are yet to hit anything.

Spending a tiny portion of your salary every so often to buy a single lottery ticket is not something significant on one hand as it doesn't do harm, but it's also nowhere close to being "wise".

I would say the "wise" way to go about gambling, is that if you have solved your money problems you can see gambling as a past time. Not much more. It's not something to grant you hope or something to expect to get you out of dire situations. It's just something to have fun and spend time. This is the only way to gamble in a healthy manner imho. Saying otherwise kind of introduces and perpetuates bad mindsets that are unrealistic about what gambling can offer.
