Did you ever gamble with other's money to pay your own debts or otherwise to solve a certain problem through gambling?

No, I have not. And hopefully will never have to do that. It is unwise to think that you can get back money from gambling.
It is truly unwise. The mistake most people always make is to tell themselves they want to recover what they lost and then come back with more money, play a little, win to some extent, try to push their luck a little bit more and then, just like tsunami, it comes with that long red chain and wipes everything.

That is exactly how it ends up building some psychological effect on someone until it turns to an addiction which takes huge time to stop. You keep giving yourself the excuse that it is just fun while you keep coming back hoping to get back your lost funds.

No, and I don't think anybody should do that. Because when you're gambling, the odds are against you most of the time. The likelihood is that you'll end up losing more money.
Correct if you want to win you need to battle your way against the house edge which most of the time is impossible if there has to be amyway for you to win in gambling you need to create a new account and then try to win

There is no way we could beat the house, even if we spend a lot of money, it is still not going to work. We have to give up our false hope on gambling, it could never give us profits, we will only get loses, and after that we are going to make something just get some money to be use on gambling again, we are going to be broke with a lot of debts and we are going to be in jail if we could not be able to pay for it, that is how scary gambling is.
beating the house edge is impossible you are right no matter how much bankroll we use we will still get a loss and simply get addicted to it the only way to beat house edge is either make a new account or change the site you are using

Gambling with someone else's money is a very bad idea.

Gambling with your own money is a really bad idea except you just have so much and you are willing to give some out, let alone, gambling with someone else's money? That is a horrible thing to do. It is not just a bad idea but an extremely worst idea. It is more like loosing in 2 places. Loosing your soul due to addiction (cause that is the only reason I can picture someone doing something that crazy) and then going into more debt.

I think there are more far worser than that. Gambling with other else's money is like cheating hardcore on casinos just to win a lot of money, it will really hit your conscience. But the the worst of the worsest is when you commit a crime just to satisfy your addiction and have fun.

Love this thread. You can see the darkness behind all the gamblers and to what extent they will act just as long as they could afford their hobby or addiction.  Grin
It is hard to do for me. Just the thought of having a loan to someone then I used it for gambling again is so bad.
Maybe it only occurs to those who lost a lot and want it back.

You bet, because using someone's money just for you to have something to be used on your addiction could be the reason why you could end up in jail or could end up having no friends anymore because of your attitude. Gambling addiction is a sickness, a very bad one, many lives are already been lost, already been out of the right path because of gambling addiction, their love ones already hated them because they are too insane about gambling, and nobody wants something like that.

Gambling with other's money is suicide as you will feel a lot more pressure than you normally does. This does not increase your chance of winning games. In fact, you will lose more than you win as you have the need to bet more frequently or on games that you are not confident. You will not know how to answer to the person if you lose a percentage of the money. I would bet with my own money which is fine if I lose my capital.
definitely right. how can you focus on your game if you are thinking of anything else. In the end it will ended up losing everything because if the luck is within in you on the first, second and so on round of the game the tendency is you want to double your money since the one you gamble was not yours. Until it is all gone.
In my part it would really give me some pressure on using those money which arent ours specially we know that those funds are totally borrowed to someone and should really be paid on due time.
This is why this kind of decision or options on playing gambling is not advisable because you are the only one whose digging into your own grave.

There are many reasons in gambling, for example just for fun, eliminating the burden of the mind even for profit. If you think just for profit means you are wrong thinking. Because gambling is a lot of harm than good.

I can understand that gambling might be a hobby for someone but aren't you afraid of loss? I'm able to control myself but what about other people? Not everyone will stop at the right moment before the lose everything. I don't think you can earn much by gambling without having a lot of luck.

Why would someone who only uses free money to be afraid of loss?  Those who have them as a hobby set aside budget for it and they really do not care if they win or lose.  And I agree gambling is not  a way to earn money but it is a platform to win money.  People (player) often mistaken that gambling is a platform for money earning.

Well there still those people that enter casinos and think to themselves they will profit. But in the end they will surely realize their mistake. Gambling is just for entertainment, if you have a few dollars to spare, why not? If it is fun for you then why should people stop you from having fun with your own money. As long as you do not spend money that is not yours or specifically intended for something else, then I don't think people judge that person.
Yes. It depends on each individual and how they perceive things. We have different perspective toward things and if there is anyone who sees gambling as fun and apparently just want to catch some of it. However, gambling can really take a hold of someone if not careful but like you have said, what matters eventually is how individual can easily control themselves in the process.

Its really hard to win the battle against the house. Sooner or later the house edge will take over, and you eventually ended up loosing. I don't want to borrow either, too risky and I don't have the money to pay if ever I lose. I just try to control myself and not make an excuse of borrowing from someone just to continue with my gambling addiction. I have a lot of past experience which really tells me that to go that route because you will not always win. And borrowing someone else money will just put you to more problems and debt.

Well some people know when to leave thus, not allowing the house to catch up to them. Exprienced gamblers know that he longer you stay seated, the more chance that the house will drain you of your winnings.

Yes i once had this experience where i have thought that of gambling as one of the solutions in my problem. When i was still studying i had this experience where i bet on a cockfight along with one of my classmates hoping against hopes that i would go home winning on the bet and be able to join them on a weekend trip. I know that it is risky since i dont have the assurance that i will win but i still tried since i am also curious of how the cockfight arena goes like. Luckily i won for that day but i promised myself that i will not use it again as an option in my difficulties and challenges.

You have gained much awareness of yourself and of your thought patterns which previously helped you to explain the benefits of gambling to yourself: to celebrate and to escape. It sounds like you have in the past often found it hard to cope with urges to gamble and focusing on potential benefits of gambling has made it easier for yourself to give in and to gamble again. You have now discovered that these explanations don't work for you any longer and you focus on the impact which gambling has on your life: it creates problems for you. This is a really good step forward, while you keep in mind how gambling affects your life, it can also help you to learn how to best cope with urges you may be feeling. Continuing to write it down here on the Forum can be a powerful strategy in itself.
