No..Its not wrong. Gambling is a recreational game. Although, some do get addicted, that would be like an obese man eating butter. He is addicted to butter and eats it all the time. It is bad for him but he has gotten so use to butter and eats it so much he has ran out. Now he's committing crimes just to get butter and stealing from his family. Now.. We should make butter illegal. That would not be fair to everyone else using it responsibly. it depends on the person to person as how much they are involved in gambling.

There's nothing wrong with gambling, it will only become wrong if you were addicted to it. Just gamble moderately

Everything in life is for humans. Gambling on its own is as good as any other entertainment method.
You can try it, enjoy it, make it your habit. But with gambling you need to know your limits and problems which can arise when you are gambling over your limits. In other words - don't get addicted and you will be fine.

Gambling does not compute for me. I've wandered around Vegas and couldn't figure out the appeal. It'll never go away but my sympathy for people who piss everything away is limited. It's not as if you don't know the likely outcome. If you can keep a lid on it and enjoy it then more power to you.

when gambling you always gotta be careful to not get addicted on it, if you start to loose , never think you will win big hehe

youre talking about the form of addiction, which applys to everything.

so in a sense too much of that particular thing is bad is a general sense.

Thanks very much for making the gamble of reading this post.

You see I made a bet that you would read it, and my bet was to take the time to write it.

Perhaps you now know we have both won the bet, and you also know my point:

Every activity performed by any agent is a gamble.  Every. One.  End of story.

Now, tell me, is gambling wrong?

Another point: nothing "is wrong"  without context.  Is 3 wrong?  Yeah, the question was what's 2+2.  Otherwise, no.. you are an idiot for posing a question without the necessary context.

It depends on how much you are involved into the gambling. If one is just gambling for fun and entertainment then i don't think that there is any problem and nothing is wrong at this point of time. As far as you have total control on yourself its absolutely OK to gamble. On other hand if you are addicted towards gambling and don't have any control then there would be some serious problems on your personal and social life. Too much gambling is obviously wrong.

Gambling must not be wrong as long as you know when to leave the table. Don't push yourself to have luck. This will not work out you're going to end to lose more.Furthermore it depends what kind of gambling you're doing.
Sports bets can be really successful if you know how to use statistics and you don't bet too risky.

I think as long as you can control your spending, its great for entertainment with the possibility of winning. I play for the excitement and expect to lose my bets.

Personally, I stay away from gambling ever since I realized that even with a small edge, the house always wins. What was that website with 40% (49%?) chance of you winning? Well, a few minutes at that, and I had flushed away BTC0.01, it's, I know. The point is that it's made to make you think you can game the system, making very small profits when your method is "working". Then, it just doesnt work, and you're back to not having profited, or in the red.

Its amazing though how much of these players make when they go to a tournament.

They like clear $12 mill or something so stupid. I feel most small timers will just play online or turn to other games or closer related games like hold em.

Few things in mind is that only the top 10-15% of players are paid (depends on the tournament structure).
Entry fee for big main event tournaments (WPT, WSOP) is 3.5k or 10k.
If you barely make it in the payouts, you don't make much. You play 2 or 3 days straight and you only make a few thousands (or hundreds).
Those tournaments aren't happening all year long.
You pay a huge amount of taxes on winnings.

Never forget the one rule of gambling , "The house ALWAYS wins" . The same thing applies to bitcoin gambling, the house always wins in the end.

Ever heard of professional poker players? The one rule of gambling in my opinion is "Enjoy responsibly".

Yeah, the few who are like 5% turn out to be pro though lol.

So regardless the odds are not in our favor, unless youre these so called pro players.

I've made a decent amount of money playing poker. Nowadays the game is much harder than it used to be, so I don't want to play it professionally.
With effort and dedication, it is very possible for anyone who enjoys the game to make a living out of it.
But you are right, the percentage of players who can make it is very slim and those players work very hard.

There is no moral issue with gambling until you start harming people gambling. If you find yourself using your credit card to gamble, you are only screwing yourself over morally. It becomes really unethical when you start asking your friends for money to go gambling. The high of winning tons of money unexpectedly is pretty intense. I will admit that I won about $2000 CAD at a casino and I sure got a rush from that. You have to remember though that the odds are always against you and you will always lose. My friend who works at the casino in my city even told me gambling is a waste of time and money and suggested to ban myself. I find myself still wasting my Bitcoins sometimes on the online casinos. I don't do it as much and when I do it's more for entertainment sake. I do not agree at all with many people's ideas about "strategic gambling". Smart people can always rationalize stupid ideas.
