Yes yes so i think he is addicting to this gambling slowly. when we feel to play gambling daily for any reason that may be feeling stress or feel boring or to spend there free time etc that means automatically we are addicting this gambling. yes there is lot of methods are there to control those feelings but still we choose this gambling means we are addicted it's my opinion.

I am considered gambling as a fun activity as it gives me a moment to relax from the problems and stress my day job has bring to me. FYI, I am not a real gamblers, I just play for fun and nothing else. I only bet with a small amount, an amount that I won't divulge but this amount guarantees a little thrill to me everytime I gamble. I do bet in sports, any association (Basketball and Soccer).

Its true, most of the gamblers in here are not professionals, they gamble base on luck purely as they think that gambling is the easiest avenue to make money. They are foolish who do not know the risk and just focus on the possible winning.

I agree with the above comment. Gambling is a fun. You not only bet your money but also play games or bet on your favorite teams. But however responsible you are, If a person wins from gambling he most likely is to lose that for a higher bet.

I think its easy to say what is an illness

It is when you cannot stop gambling and you are feeling the adrenaline that cannot make you stop, although you are causing pain to your family and to yourself , to yourself you don't care and continue to do so that is what all psychiatrist call sickness from gambling.

If you play for fun even a lot but can quit whenever you like, then this is not called sickness , this second option if you play a lot the risk of becoming a sickness is very high here. Only play what you can afford to lose and play rarely.

So many misconceptions and peculiar comments in this thread. I would like to clarify something.

Gambling as a form of entertainment when you have absolute control of it and can stop anytime is not wrong, nor it is sickness.

What you guys could call sickness is 'gambling addiction' called also compulsive gambling or gambling disorder.
When individual can't control the impulse to gamble and is driven by impulses even when it is hurting him or/and people around him.

But honestly for psychiatrist if you are addicted we can call it a sickness.. if you are addicted on gambling we can call it as sickness because its just like a cancer very hard to treat.. so for me i considered it as sickness..
