it is not even 1 year since i have been introduced to bitcoin and i have already lost 1+ btc in gambling with not much profit, as whatever big or less profit i used to get i used to invest it again in gambling.

hey guys you all here are old bitcoin studs, please suggest me how to resist the impulsive nature to not put my money on stake, and how you guys manage to stop at that point when you think that im done and i shouldnt stake much as i will lose everything..

how to feel that point that its enough for today.. Undecided

Why people take a risk for being a rich by gambling? Undecided we all know, gambling is not profitable, except you're lucky guy ever. Try another method like trading(although i think slightly different).

want to stop gambling then study gambling.

you'll soon realize it is nothing more than a scam.  If the fact that you are only going to lose your money doesn't change your mindset you may have problems that nobody here can solve.

I'm serious about studying these games, actually, as it is enlightening as to how they seduce you into thinking you can win by offering you a win here and there to keep you floating along, losing at a relatively controlled rate, but losing.  Look at the multitudes of simulations that are run over thousands and millions of 'hands' or rounds or whatever and it becomes clear that what they are doing is taking your dollar giving you .90 back, then .80, then .70 and so on, until you're bled as dry as they can bleed you.

the first time I went to Vegas they shook me until my pockets were empty.  Just that ass whuppin was enough for me, as I work for my $$ and throwing it away is about the last thing I am prone to do.

Beyond that what I noticed, was not that others were winning, but that they were losing their money more slowly than I was.  Clearly I was doing something wrong and no surprise as I had virtually no fucking idea what I was doing.  Didn't know the games, didn't know the rules, didn't know the odds.

So I studied casino gaming in a casual sort of way.  Looked at the common games and their odds, and the house advantage.

There is no way to win long term.  Period.

The only game I will play in a casino at this point is blackjack and ONLY if I have reviewed the basic strategy tables beforehand and taken a few hours to practice, otherwise not even that.

learn to count.  it is not as hard as people say it is and at a minimum will force you to learn the game and use basic strategy, which takes the guess work out of it.  this will keep you losing more slowly than otherwise if nothing else.

as to these online BTC casinos, not a chance.  stay away from these scams.

I really hate gambling after loosing all my btc

don't invest money but your time, gamble with it, it's far better and more remunerative, if you are in a good healthy condition you can work for 16 hours a day(a bit stressful i must admit) but it would let you earn a big amount

Everyone here has gambled from the moment they brought bitcoin, then if you invest in anything else that is another gamble. Everywhere in bitcoin is a gamble the trick I have found is just be happy with the big gamble we have all taken. Block them sites out of your mind because if you don't you have many unhappy days as you have already, they will only get worse the more you gamble trying to chase the original losses. Don't even play a little if that leads to more.
hmm..but sometime when dijkovik ,nadal, barcelona are playing...i cant resist..
i am unable to sleep..cant get sleep..
am i disease sticken?  Sad

anyone here who has this type of feeling now or before??

I will be honest that sounds like how I used to feel when I used to play high stakes poker on Saturdays and Sundays, knowing that them games were playing without me used to drive me insane because I had won a few of the tournaments and felt I was missing out from winning again. It was dealt with by not logging in so basically ignored them feelings however hard, after time they become easier to ignore and before you know it you only play when you want to not when you feel you 'need' to. Without being funny towards you, you should search google for ways to help with your troubles because what worked for me may not work for you, but you should know you are not alone!   Undecided

you are right..i have no intension to get rich with gambling or i never think that this amount of winning btcs will ever feed me or buy me a new motor bike..but it is spreading in my blood..if soccer is going on i cant concentrate on my work..and i eagerly bet on it, once i bet i am unable to sleep or concentrate until match is finished..i am happy if i won, if i loose i remember my old winning and try to say myself that neverming you gonna win big next time as you won once..

From listening to you, there is definitely hope as you have realized it is getting out of control early on. You now have the chance to nip it in the bud and not get totally hooked on it. Being pro active as you are clearly trying will help. I really suggest you do some searching on the net if you have not already, there are many people who have felt what you feel and the more people you hear how they beat it the more tools you have in your reach to beat it. You to do have a problem with it but it is early and you understand so you will beat it, please keep looking until you find what helps. Take care matey
thanks man..for lighting hope in me..

i owe you a tip..if you don't feel bad accepting a tip from a junior..oh..not even junior...its newbie.. Smiley

That was the aim, I am glad that it has gave you some hope because you deserve it and anyone else who is going threw what you are and I have, it is not nice to feel weak. Just remember your not and you can beat the BS no problem. Hehe thank you for the offer! But... No friend you don't owe me nothing and I could never accept a tip from you, if I have helped even a little that is more than enough for me! Good luck and you have my pm if you want a chat, I will reply as soon as I can  Smiley

Put your coins in the most convoluted cold storage possible and store them with someone else you trust implicitly.

I've never had the gambling gene so I've no idea how it feels, but it sounds like you have a compulsion.

That doesn't sound like a good idea. He's more likely to forget how to access his coins if it's too 'convoluted'.

you are right..i have no intension to get rich with gambling or i never think that this amount of winning btcs will ever feed me or buy me a new motor bike..but it is spreading in my blood..if soccer is going on i cant concentrate on my work..and i eagerly bet on it, once i bet i am unable to sleep or concentrate until match is finished..i am happy if i won, if i loose i remember my old winning and try to say myself that neverming you gonna win big next time as you won once..

Sounds like you're addicted or getting addicted. I'd seriously just do your best not to gamble and find something else to distract you when you get the urge to do so. It wont be easy but you'll only lose more money and pride if you continue.

There's only one thing you can do: just stop. It might be easier said than done but only you can work up the determination to do it. Cut your losses at 1btc and just think about how much more you could lose.

1 BTC isn't really that bad of a loss.   However, what you can do is keep your BTC in paper wallet format.  That will make it slightly more difficult to spend.

The ideal solution is to just stop gambling.
But as you said, it is hard to resist the temptation when you are addicted to it.

So I would suggest you use a very stringent cold storage to save your BTC. Just create a paper wallet and put it in a bank locker (or any other safe storage that you can't access on daily basis or very frequently). Whatever BTC you get, immediately send them to this cold storage. Problem solved. If you can't access them you can't spend them.

I can tell you that I know where you have been in. I am gambling free for 3 months and still in bitcoin in many ways. I can only tell you from experience that gambling is not for everyone and it's not for me. I played for 3 years and you are lucky that it was only 1btc+ that you lost. I believe for me, my makeup and design is to not gamble and takes me down the long deep dark path. The problem is I am just good enough to win a couple just to find out that I will lose it the very next split second. The motto of "only play with what you can stand to lose" is one in which those that gamble for entertainment only. Not everyone can do that.

I can drink alcohol like once a not touch the bottle for a couple of months. My gambling is not that way. Here is what I have done.

I have gone to friends and tell them your issue. You someone that will kick you in your ass if you mess up. These are the folks that have a general interest in your livelihood.
I took off all my podcasts, my poker forums, dissassociated with poker community, took out all my bookmarks and deleted all my gambling and anything related.
Get another hobby. I chose running for me. I have lost 25 pounds in 6 months and am so happy with myself. Just hitting the pavement for me is just plain fun for me and I win every single time. No loss in that. It is a +EV move in life is what I gain. Nothing else like it.
Find another community that you can get involved with that deals with bitcoin.

I am now associated with an awesome community, http://grindabuck.com and I love it. I make some bitcoin that and share in that with others. There is a loyalty program and with our new site, we will have competitions and really further involve a great community aspect. You get paid for your online activity and you earn bitcoin a lot faster than any sort of satoshi earned faucet. The community is great and we are in the process of building a site to really expand on our community aspect and would love for you to be a part of it.
