Very disappointing with how the show ended and I mean come on how about giving us 1 more season to wait for.
I lost most of my GOT bets I made and I feel there is so much more they could add to this story so give the people what we want.

Even if they decided to offer us one more season, I would never see it.
I am so disgushed about the show that I don't want to spend time on it anymore. I expected a better end with an anticipation of more action in the last episode.

I think now anyway the Game  of Thrones is over. Is it already a time to bet on something in a prequel  story? I know there is not much info about it, but at the same time everyone is free to express his thoughts there.

@thin yea game of thrones ending has left a huge void to fill, I’m not sure which other shows we can place a bet on for the time being. There’s no way you can bet on the prequel now, as it will take at least 1 - 3 years for them to get the show started. I have read mixed theories regarding the prequel some say they’ll go back to 1000 years and show the long night again, others say we will see the mad king, Jon’s parents story but so far there’s no official word on it.

An undead continent would have been far more interesting than what they gave us. Then they can use it as setting for a spin-off later.

Yeah that is what I have been thinking off the Night King showing that the power of men is really worthless with all their selfish desire to be one on top, making them part of his loyal blue-eyed servants would teach us a lesson that power doesn't really matter in the series. There are really at times where I just wished the battle at winterfell ended badly and they made their real last stand at King's Landing where they have also failed but that's just some fantasy for mine.

Would be interesting if the Night King just takes all the population of Westeros up north, leaving a few WWs to haunt the region. The people of Essos would find the continent abandoned and they'll treat it as cursed like Valyria. Slowly they forget about this and they start creating colonies and we know what happens next...

bbc.reporter you might want to change the topic from " Who will rule" to "Who will Rant" Cheesy

Haha we're still ranting online. The cast interviews before s8 release has resurfaced and Emilia Clarke's "Best Season EVER!" has become quite a meme, even more now after the show has ended.

Budget was the issue, however. The budget they spent on cgi dragons, Ghost and Nymeria were very high, so they had to limit their appearances in some episodes. This was mentioned in some interviews.

We might have seen Nymeria and her pack versus the Night King if there were no budgeting issues, I reckon.

Budget spent on dragons was not very high when they first introduce the creature. - all Dragons created in one Indian 3d Studio- couple of my friends worked on the dragons- including famous -Hodor holding door scene-

Not sure about recent budget tho..

The ending was Okay. But they rushed it too fast. They could have stretched it one more season but they ended this season with fewer episodes.
They missed many important details and their was poor editing. A coffee cup and a water bottle, soldier asking to open fire? Seems like they hired a cheap crew to get the work done.

Maybe not the full season. But I agree, it is too fast. Maybe 10 series would be better describing changes in characters. And yes, putting modern  things into picture means they were too lazy to look for details.
I believe this is why they are doing the spin off shows to extend it over other storylines.
Naomi Watts was speculated to play one of the red queens of the lord of light.
But I completely agree with tsaroz it did seemed to be rushed to close it out in just 6 episodes for the final season.
I doubt it was due to budget constraints. Embarrassed

GOT is the one of the most successful series in the history, surely budget was not an issue.
The story is good but the negligence are unforgivable. There's a meme circulating where the unsullied commander reaches top faster than the moving John Snow character. And how on the earth would the 6 kingdoms let a cripple rule them from voting and let his sister had an independent nation? They would have asked for independence too.

They have 2 full years to make it, i do not think time is a constraint. It feels more like the writers do not even know the characters. It is more of bad writing than execution. They had bad scripts for season 8.

They will definitely lose followers for the spin off. GOT fans knows they have no book as source material for the spin off so they!ll expect low quality writing like season 8. Less viewers for them.

@Theb. I was also hoping for a similar ending. A symbolism for our world trapped in a long winter hehehe.
With how they ended it, they made it look loke the Starks have won the Game of Thrones but this isn't the fans want and this isn't the most probably way the show was headed. They are reaching when they said it was “bittersweet” as surely it was just bitter all through out with no satisfaction whatsoever.

Great that this trainwreck of a season was over. At least Drogon was smart enough to realize that pointy thing killed his mama.  Grin

This really makes me wish everyone just died, either getting zombified or the entire city exploding from wildfire so hot that even Drogon dies in it.

Honestly this could have been a much better ending compared to what we have seen in Season 8. With all the wasted character build up we have seen and how they skipped a lot of stories like House Reed not even showing up in in a single episode in the season it shows that the writers failed to give a meaningful ending for the viewers and that's including me. At least if they went to this kind of ending the Night King sitting in the Iron Throne is something I would accept rather than ending his plot build up in just one episode, well I guess the Night King, the army of the dead, and three dragons is simply way over their budget.

Yep

What a fucking joke!

They bend the knee to a Stark and then allow a Stark to not bend the knee, Bollywoods at its finest playing to the 6 grade mentality.

I hope they make an alternative ending, this ending really sucks. Feels like one season wasted 8 years of my life. I hope George RR Martin release the final chapter of the book so HBO can make the real ending of a supposed to be epic series. The ending feels like a fan-made, not something the real author will make.

let's assume they made several alternative endings. But it does not change anything now. The chosen final was shown to millions, and no matter what people already have impression of current final, even if they do not like  it.

and thinking more - maybe it wasn't that bad actually, maybe too fast.

~Rant Edited~

Waiting for grrm's book to finish as well lol. Though unlike most of the people i know, i didn't think the ending was that bad. Yeah in a way it was weaker than the previous season and i think people are expecting more after waiting 2 years,.but hey, the starks did end up winners here and jon and ghost did have a nice reunion. To those who were disappointed, i guess you'll have to wait for the books as well to see how it really ended 😁

Yeah, we have to wait couple of more years " The Winds of winters" should be publish soon, for last edition "A Dream of Spring"even Martin is not sure yet as far as I know. he's taking his time and rightly so.

And about ending : Martin and Pundit says " Game of throne is all about destiny of Starks, not Danerys, not Cersei but only Starks" and end is not about goody good " its dark".

Heard the books were only up to season 6 of the television series.
So Dan and Dave were just making it up as they went along starting at season 7. Cheesy

Yes Sir.

The leaks orions.belt19 has posted are real. This was not a very satisfying way to end the show, I reckon. The writers appeared to be in a hurry to end it and collect their paychecks hehehe.

It was a sad ending for Jon, Bran became king and Bron got his castle. All the other character's endings were uninteresting.

Too bad we did not make a bet on the leaks whether it will happen or not, it would have made things more fun  Grin

I would not bet against them. When the leaks begun appearing in Reddit, the sportsbooks removed all Game of Thrones betting which was convncing that the source was real.

@Theb. I was also hoping for a similar ending. A symbolism for our world trapped in a long winter hehehe.

@jakelyson. Do not forget the 2 years of waiting hehehehe.
