This is really interesting. And a great marketing ploy. Make a game, hide there a BTC, make a lot of money selling this game and only one person will win this. but it sounds like a lottery...

You know the guy OP or just sharing?
I don't know him personally, but I saw the news and I thought it was a good idea, and I used to play games like this when I was younger.

Honestly, I've never played this game. Has this game been released? I will certainly try it.
Like I wrote in the first sentence of my post, game will be released on August 2nd 2021, but I guess you need to read the post first and then reply, not the other way around...

Who Stole My Beard is a retro game that should be released on August 2nd 2021, it has hidden real Bitcoin inside and first player who solves the puzzle will get the prize, but I can't find exact information of exact amount of BTC.

There are 12 virtual scraps of paper in game and each of them is containing a single word, finding all worlds will give you seed phrase that you can import in Electrum wallet and claim your coins.

Game is developed by Cleardot Games aka Neil Collier from California, and you can find it on Steam store:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1141270/Who_Stole_My_Beard/

well that's a nice idea and probably a good puzzle game, my question is however if someone got the hidden phrase they will gonna provide another one for the rewards or no because it's a constest wherein just to gain attention from gamers for starting? Because you know if this for real that game will become popular.. Just imagine playing games and you have a chance to earn bitcoin.. Actually it's like nft online games base on the design but it's bitcoin wherein a good choice also.

Had you read the main post? The possible launching date has mentioned in the first line.
Who Stole My Beard is a retro game that should be released on August 2nd 2021
The bold part is the launch date according to OP.

Anyway, I am not a fan of mobile game or PC game since don't have enough time. I don't like to install the game on my phone as well due to various reasons. But definitely, I can't win BTC even I play, because I am not lucky in the gamble.

Honestly, I've never played this game. Has this game been released? I will certainly try it. But looking at some of the discussions above, if you look at the opportunities for arranging 12 words into sentences, it has a lot of alternative sentence opportunities. It seems very impossible to me. Maybe this game is like cracking a storage wallet address password. But I think there are some alternative help and levels that match the rewards.

These could be amazing if you could find those complete 12 words. How much would be the prize if you find all of those phrases? And how many winners?

Anyway, im starting to play with those crypto earning games like NFT Games and good thing I bump and read this thread as I am searching another earning crypto game like this. Will just search more about this as this will gonna launch soon and I dont wanna be late again like that of defi pet which suddenly boom when they get launched.

The idea and graphics are cool, the point and click genre is suiting. But given the theme,my input here is that I hope there's going to be references to the Barber's Paradox.

I have to admit it's a smart move for the app's developer. It's a win-win situation for game developers and Bitcoin as well. It's a kind of Bitcoin small adaption, but behind that, this game would gain popularity quickly due to the Bitcoin puzzle. For example, many users from the forum will try to gain Bitcoin from this game, that's how we will spread the word to each other's and game users will be increased. It's a smart marketing strategy and should appreciate their marketing manager for such as smart move.

but I can't find exact information of exact amount of BTC.
Seeing that Neil didn't disclose it, I'm guessing it has to be an insignificant amount [I could be wrong]. Does anybody know how much he'll be charging for this game?

1) Will only the first one will be awarded with the funds associated or there would be group hunt at one time and whoever wins that round will be having seed phrase which can be imported to wallet
I believe there will be only a "single" winner.

But i have concern of cheating through data mining and decompiler, i hope the developer did something to prevent such cheating.
Someone else also "commented" about that but he ignored it [perhaps it doesn't come with an anti-cheating mechanism].

You also need to know the order of each word Roll Eyes
But i expect the developer also show the position (or at least hint of the position).
He will but I have a strong feeling someone else is going to figure it out before he does it:

Going to try give it some love a bit later, but yeah, what a great way to promote your upcoming studio! I don't really know these days if gamers are up for puzzle solving, but a quick reminder from all those app ads telling me download puzzles games suggests it ain't dead.

A creative way to promote the game while adding a little fun to the users, the problem is that the public key is not published publicly so that we can see who won the contest.
I will try my luck and play and it is nice to see that he will accept Bitcoin for the game which might generate a good amount of money.
I didn't see in the promo that he accepts Bitcoin payments.
It's probably a difficult puzzle that they have because if I was the developer, I would want more players to join in the fun and have more users in my game so I can have more engagement and more engagement means more money. I think it will be bad to display the public address because what if the prices are a big, someone can probably track down the winner so they can steal the bitcoin from them.

Not only is it a great creative way to raise awareness of Bitcoin, the marketing guy in me also really appreciates the fact that it's a really smart way to get publicity to the game as well! It seems to be the studio's first ever game, so there's a decent chance that this game wouldn't get any early traction if it weren't for this clever marketing gimmick.
I tend to agree with you but creator of this game seems really impressed with Bitcoin and technology behind it, so it's a win win situation.

You also need to know the order of each word Roll Eyes
Order will probably be connected with leveling up in game, I don't believe he would create it so hard with random mixing of words, unless he is hiding hundreds or thousands of Bitcoins inside, and I doubt that.

It's nice to see retro games coming back to life and aside from that the concept of Bitcoin being on it is awesome. Awareness is important as day by day it can help the community grow. Also the old generations are somehow stuck on playing old games rather than the latest videos out there.
The Beard concept also is funny and somewhat unique, a game that is simple yet somehow weird will surely attract nerdy and the old folks.

It's not impossible (but still very difficult) if you have additional information such as generated address, derivation path and position of few words. There are few tools which can do it such as https://github.com/PawelGorny/lostword. But i expect the developer also show the position (or at least hint of the position).

This is very much, maybe a hacker alone is difficult. (possible). For me a person who does not understand may seem impossible. But it seems worth a try. I expect lots of other considerations from this game dev. But if the prize offered is large maybe it's worth it. Perhaps the effect will be that many participants are not interested.

Seems a nice puzzle to me since the words are being seek not some private keys. Been seeing some puzzle game where most of them are into private key and that seems too complicated but I guess this should be a normal one for average minds, just my thought. Wonder how many days will it take and I like the game part and loving that it's in classic mode type of game.

@dkbit98 you spelled it "Bitcoin", please correct the typographical error.

Yeah, very creative indeed and it not only promotes bitcoin but then, the game itself. It tends to ensure the game is being downloaded and played more often as, you never can really tell or perhaps its as at now kind of thing, the amount of bitcoin that is hidden in the game. Again, it spreads the knowledge of a private key and seed  phrase system, being hidden in the game, an advantage for the nitcoined learned individuals but then, a call for research by newbies who hopes to get on the fun train. I  once did come across a similar style of hiding treasures in there work on this forum this one was done in a book as I recall it and its a great idea.

IIRC, there's sort of the same type of puzzle that has been made before but if it's made in the form of a game, it's going to make the hunt more exciting. This is like the next-gen of play to earn that we've seen lately with the NFTs but it's entirely different from that because you have to find the exact words and its order for the gamer to win the hidden btc on it.

I haven't read the other threads linked on this thread but maybe there has to be the answer for this question there.

1) Will only the first one will be awarded with the funds associated or there would be group hunt at one time and whoever wins that round will be having seed phrase which can be imported to wallet

I think it will make the game more exciting if they'll keep putting those recovery words with little amount and make the hunting continue to attract more players. And in that cycle, maybe this game will gain attention it's like hunting bitcoin daily for the daily rewards.

I don't like it.

I have a past with Bitcoin hunts and that possibly makes me want to say this, but any game that contains a money prize won't be enjoyed. This is guaranteed. You'll start playing the game for fun and before you know it, you'll have spent thousands of hours trying to find the damn answer for the correct mnemonic.

Some may even try to brute force after a certain level. They'll find it impossible if they're not aware of more than three words. A mania will prevail of who'll stand lucky to get the money.
