Someone asked me off this forum while the site was inaccessible and all that if FBI had clamped down on the forum, I knew (believed) the comment was rhetorical and so I didn't bother to respond to him. However, if I may ask; does anyone else feel that way whenever the site is down?
So far I've never felt the need to deactivate the forum when it's down. I haven't even had that kind of suggestion since 2017, so I'm just trying to log in occasionally in an attempt to see if the forum have recovered again. The thing is, this forum has been down quite a few times due to Cloudflare which may have left me wondering what the reason is.

I don't know how many websitse are "clamped down" by the FBI each year, but I do know almost every website is down once in a while. So it's simply much more likely to be a server problem. Even getting hacked must be a much more likely scenario.

If this is not an alt account, then you should not have heard of Twitter account. All the discussions about it were from the pre-Cloudflare era, which I think is before 2019.

The last time I visited r/Bitcoin, it required you to log in before access content, Twitter is an excellent option.

I see, I will follow the Twitter account indeed!

Normally you should be able to access r/bitcoin content without an account, the community is not private but perhaps there are geographical restrictions which I am not aware of.

And I wonder why nobody noticed that Bitcointalk's Twitter account had risen from the grave (I thought it was a hack Smiley).

Good news, I didn't think that account was back in action, especially after I heard about deleting inactive accounts on Twitter.

Oh, I didn't even know there was a Twitter account for bitcointalk (or if I knew I totally forgot it) !  Cheesy
We could also have announcements on reddit/r/Bitcoin during long downtimes.

This happened again, sometime last night (I don't know what your time will be but it's almost 12 hours from now) I was browsing without logging in.
I don't know how long it lasted, but it definitely took more than 10 minutes. I wonder why no one reported it? Huh Lips sealed
noticed that too, it was a 522 error that had happened last night and not a 504 error. on my end I only waited for about 10-20 minutes before it was working again, I might have missed the majority of the downtime since LoyceV mentioned there is a 59 minutes gap between post 62406577 and 62406600
I spent over 40 minutes waiting for the Cloudflare issue to be fixed before I finally got too tired to make any more posts yesterday. I login the forum almost every 5 minutes for 40 minutes - but I'm not sure how much downtime it actually took before reading LoyceV's post.

So that's 59 minutes - it really sucks to wait that long. Even recently the Cloudflare issue has been very frequent - it's been a few times during the first half of this year.

We could also have announcements on reddit/r/Bitcoin during long downtimes. If I understand correctly, this community is run by the same people as bitcointalk, and that would make it possible to have up-to-date information as well.

The forum is down due to a hardware issue. Probably back within a couple of hours.

Back.

I checked Cloudflare Status and from what can be seen they seem to be doing quite a bit of scheduled maintenance these days, but there have also been some incidents that could have caused the problem that happened yesterday.

In any case, I think 59 minutes is something we can all endure, although no one likes when the forum is offline.

I'm missing 59 minutes between posts 62406577 and 62406600. When it worked again, I got a Cloudflare screen, and I think that's the reason my scraper missed a few posts.

I don't know what the problem may be but seems this year errors code is getting much, actually I experienced this yesterday morning as well I wanting to access the forum but I couldn't due to the error code. I was like could it be the forum wants to shot down or what?  After some while it came up again. From my research on this forum, Bitcointalk is one of the largest cryptocurrency community that conveys all necessary information one needs to know about bitcoin and any altcoin related tells, so this gives me full confident that it can't just shot down without a reason.

I don't know why we're all seeing or having this issue while trying to use the forum, I think this is making if the second time in a week now (if I'm not mistaken)
Should we all be worried (because I'm damn worried)? Can this affect this Forum or affect our accounts? Can it also repeat itself again?
Mehn, to be frank with you guys I was so scared when I saw it happen again, I almost bit my tongue. Something different happened that I noticed, the duration wasn't like the first one, just some minutes like 30mins I suppose, is it that it won't pop up again?
Still praying for it not to happen ever again.

Had some at about 06:16 UTC time this morning but, with the Host site appeared to have errored but, it didn't mean much haven't seen it happen a few times in before hand.

So, no need to worry mate, just take it to record because it would happen again in the future and with gjis experience, you would find no need to panic. You just give it time and you'll be back online.

Is there nothing that can be done to stop another future occurrence? At this rate it's becoming worrisome. This one lasted close to 30 mins on my end, who knows how long the next would be? Hopefully if it's a bug or a Ddos attack or something, it can be rectified before causing more upset..
It's hard to stop it because if it's a DDOS, there will still be another DDOS that can take this forum offline like before. But it could be a bug that needs to be fixed soon and I'm sure the forums are still manageable as the offline time today isn't as long as before.

DDOS means that there was an external attack that caused a capacity overload and I suspect that happens to many sites out there, not just this forum. What's different is the offline time of the site because some are offline for several hours or even several days.

So no need to worry about this.

It's hard to know. Sometimes this type of problem ends up being outside the responsibility of administrators.
This month, I know that there were several instabilities at the DNS level all over the world. So it could be something related, I don't know.

I myself felt some instabilities in some sites that I manage. Instabilities that little or nothing I could solve.

Earlier this month, an IPTV service was shut down by the authorities, which was housed in a legitimate data center, which affects various legitimate websites and services across Europe. Typically, these things end up having recoveries all over the place, if only because of configuration readjustments in the data center.

But, this is all an assumption on my part, because I saw several services affected by this type of instability.

It lasted ~28.5 minutes. That's the time between post 62351319 and post 62351320.
I was almost accurate Tongue, in general that it is less than the previous time that lasted for more than two hours and the second that lasted for about 5 minutes (I do not think many have noticed it)

It could be a DDoS attack

I don't think it's a DDoS attack. Cloudflare works fine and did not ask me to solve captcha. its related to BTT servers.

This error came again, but it lasted for 20 minutes to an hour. This is the third time it has happened in less than a month

I wasn't online on the forum when this happened but I wonder why we are having frequent time out error messages these days.

The previous outage was of few hours and this one was about 30 minutes. I guess something is not normal  Huh

It doesn't particularly look like a DDoS or other attack, though I can't rule it out.

It could be a DDoS attack
