Will "Buy Back" continue to only apply to those who have hosted miners?  If you took delivery, it won't ever apply?

That's correct

where do we get information on Buy Back? how does it work?

Hey GAW, you guys should put a FAQ in the first post instead of making people read the whole thread. Just an idea.

yes please that would be great

Non of my G-Blades are online again

Anyone have the same problem ?

Mine are all up and have been running for 48 hours uninterrupted for first time since they came up on Aprill 16th/17th. I have noticed sometimes that the UI can show them as not up but checking the mining pool will show service is uninterrupted.

Right, I think this is a huge concern for many people.  I know for myself I would love to order some products, but with the prices and terms changing like every 5 minutes, it just seems wiser at this point to wait until this is all sorted out and then decide.

I know of no new price changes. But if there is, just like we JUST proved, we will pass the upside to our customers Smiley

Well okay as an example,  your miners were one price, then a different price yesterday, and now a different price today.  As another example, I was one of those people who bought blades right before the price cut.  I had them shipped to me not hosted, so I can't upgrade.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming you, I realize these issues are outside your control and you have done your best to help people who got caught in the price drop.  And of course as a consumer I WANT price drops!  But at the same time, it makes it difficult to calculate just how much money, if any, we are going to make with these things when quite literally tomorrow they could be worth half the price they are today if any of the manufacturers makes a sizable change to pricing.  Again, not your fault, but it is what it is.

The other thing, and I can't be the only one wondering this, but what exactly is in these things?  This was asked on another thread but no one ever really answered, except to say they are not gridseed chips in them.  So whos chips are they?  And how accurate are the specs on them?  Have you tested these units yet and can you confirm the hashrates?  What about the power consumption?  Those numbers look pretty high.  Actually, they look less efficient then blades.  Are those numbers accurate, or are they very conservative?

I will have pictures and videos up today of our units.

Yes, I can also confirm that the miners hash rate was well understated Smiley

BSIG,

There is much more to what has been disclosed. But in the interest of saving face to the dev, I will not make the information public.

We did not use a single piece of software from the dev for production, and we have our own development team that builds our software. Smiley

If I do this $499 upgrade to a warrior can I have it hosted if I wait? I have the blade hosted ATM

I have the same question.  Can GAW please provide an answer?

See below in red.  Hopefully that answered your question.

Hey Guys,

Wanted to provide an update for everyone.

I have heard you loud and clear. You're upset because we talked about price protection and a buy back program that we did not do with the last set of miners we released.

While we ran in to some unexpected bumps, that's not an excuse. I should have figured out a way to make it work and taken care of those that have taken care of us. For that, you have my apologies.

So here is what we are going to do to fix it:

We are creating an upgrade path for all blade hosted customers that ordered before May 5th (before the price change). You will be able to upgrade from a 5.2MH/s Gridseed Blade to a 13MH/s Black Widow (week 3) for $500!

Here are the rules:
This offer will only be available until May 18th 12 AM Eastern.
It's only available while our stock lasts.
Since we are buying back your old gear, we need to resell it. So at the time of your order, we will take your hosted blade offline.
The Black Widow you will be purchasing will be shipped to you (not hosted) by the Batch 3 Ship Date (June 9th).

Those that want to keep hosting will need to sit tight for, but we will have something cool for you in the future. You will not be forgotten Smiley

We will always do right by our customers, and we are in this for the long haul. Thank you for expecting more from us, holding us accountable, and allowing us to rise to occasion!

You can upgrade here:
http://www.gawminers.com/upgrade-gridseed-blade-to-the-black-widow-13-mh-s-week-three/

Josh - CEO

P.S. You still get your free Fury!

I think people are mainly asking because part of the value prop (for electricity costs, shipping issues, customs, import duties, you name it) for GAW was the hosting.  If there is any possibility of people moving from hosted to hosted it's a significantly better option than dealing with shipping, setup, maintenance, etc.  Ideally the new data centers Josh has mentioned will help people who previously purchased hosted products and not just for the Zeus relationship.

I just don't want to jump the gun and upgrade my 2 hosted blades with this offer (ship only) and then next week there will be a comparable offer that is for us hosted only customers.  For the customers that really want to keep their hardware hosted.

If this will be the only offer for the current blade owners (hosted or non hosted) then I want to know so that I can purchase via this offer.

My thoughts exactly.  Would love to upgrade but not worth it at that price to lose the year of hosting if something else is going to be offered.

Investments are risks. The only variable that really matters for your ROI calculations is the BTC / USD price. If it bounces back to 600-700$ we are all happy. If it goes down to 200-300$ we are all fucked.

Right, the price of the unit, it's resale value, how much it hashes, and how much power it consumes.  None of those things have any bearing at all on the value of the investment  Roll Eyes

I didn't see anything mentioned for people who purchased blades to have them delivered.  Does the Buy-Back program only apply to people who have it hosted by GAW?  Is this the way all future buy-backs will be handled (hosted only)?

Appreciate having options. Here is my thinking on comparing two options on upgrading for $500 from hosted 5.4M Blade to taking delivery of 13M Black Widow, across the next four months. Factoring loss of mining for a month as the hosted blade goes down right away and the Black Widow won’t ship until after 9 June and 320 watts of power must be paid to run it. Looking at expenses and earnings assuming earnings don’t go down which is probably very optimistic.
1: Stick with hosted blade: No additional cash outlay, no power costs, continuous mining over next 120 days. 5.4M hash earns about $10/day times 120 days =  $1,200 total earnings.
2: Upgrade for $500 to 13M Black Widow. Immediate loss of 5.4M hash for close to a month. Once 13M Black Widow arrives, provide 320 watts of power ($72 for three months). Total additional expenses over next four months $572 ($500 upgrade and $72 in electricity). Earnings once Black Widow goes online for three months at $24/day times 90 days $2,160 minus expenses equals $1,588.
With new ASICs coming on-line I’d assume earnings will likely go down and then I would rather have 13M.

@Jeff and GAW Miners_CEO

This got buried very quickly, so I would like to repost for your response if you do not mind.  I searched but couldn't find a readily available answer:

If we were to order a Falcon that comes with the RasPi, and then ordered 9 Fury's (that do not come with a Pi) are we able to connect and manage all 9 Furys and one Falcon from a powered USB hub with the Pi?

RasPi >> 10pt USB HUB >> NINE Furys & ONE Falcon (can the Falcon or War Machine co exist on the same host as a Fury?)

What are the limitations with chaining these different models together and what will we need to power these units?  Will specifications be given for power supply requirements and connection?
