GAW MINERS
PAYPAL ACCEPTANCE
Date: May 13th, 2014

We regretfully inform all GAW Miners customers that we are no longer accepting payments through PayPal effective immediately.

As you may be aware, our astounding growth over the last few months has lead to an explosive growth in the number and variety of customer PayPal transactions.  These payment, pre-order, which range in size from a few to hundreds of thousands of dollars, and originating from over 100 countries has created certain issues with PayPal regarding customer identity, fraud and regulatory authority compliance.  We are actively engaged with PayPal to expeditiously resolve these matters.  Please bear with us while we work towards an early restoration of PayPal facilities to our customers.

In the interim, we are pleased to accept credit cards, wire transfers and Bitcoin payments.

Hey guys, I was thinking about running a promo and wanted to see what you guys think.

So we would draw a random order number, and whoever the order number belongs to, would get a free Fury. I was thinking it would be cool to do one a day until our launch.

Thoughts?

Josh maybe GAW should create their own Scrypt coin like GAWCOIN and reward customer in GAWCOIN based on how much they purchase.

I am sure there are many other creative ways to use the coin to reward customers, promote the GAW Miners business, people could use GAWCOIN for purchases etc...

Just a thought.

Using PayPal is important to me as a buyer.  Some sellers don't like it and make excuses for not having it but if they meet their commitments then there's no issue.  If they don't ship when promised or you get broken goods then it is PayPal that saves your butt IF the seller ignores you.  3 orders from GAW and there wouldn't have been 1 if they didn't take PayPal so hopefully it is back soon.

I was wondering if there was an official announcement about removing PayPal as a payment option? I find it sort of odd that I can't find an official announcement about this issue.

I went to order another Fury last night, but didn't see PayPal as an option. I contacted support and I was told that GAW Miners is having to renegotiate a new agreement with PayPal due to their sales volume.

Is there an ETA on when that new deal will close and you'll be accepting PayPal again?

What about an interactive competition where by say 5:00pm miners that wanted to play submit the name of the coin that they think will go up the most in the next 24 hours. For ties we'd need the name of the coin and a guess on the percent increase. Only coins with over 1 bitcoin in trade on exchanges can be guessed to avoid someone just buying 1 coin for a lot. After 5:00pm each day we could look on Cryptsy, CoinMarketCap, WhatMine or an exchange you designate and see who got the best coin payoff and the guess that was closest to the actual percent increase. If there are no winners, maybe like PowerBall the Fury could roll-over to the next day so the challenge would then be for Two Furies. The feature of this is that it could help show all of us some untapped opportunities. You could limit this to customers by adding the competition to the signed in account access and that would encourage people that want to play to become customers. Just seems more engaging that a pure lottery.

I am considering the 54Mh hosted package. My only concern is how fast difficulty will shoot up. There are a lot of big ASIC coming out which worries me we are going to see a big spike in difficulty and I will not see a good ROI. Hmmm i guess time to do some more debating.

there are a  lot of unknowns there. Obviously, all those of us buying are betting that we will still be able to ROI, but it's anyone's guess at this time

Very true.

I bought from GAW miners and have received great support personally but a cryptostock buy I am in has not. See https://cryptostocks.com/announcements/2164 Its a shame since I have been following the story and have seen the messages they posted on their forums and although support has been in contact with them consistently no resolution has been reached for over a month. It seems they have been stringing them along for a bit hopefully it can and will be resolved soon.

I'm sorry to read this but I have no doubt that they are doing everything possible to resolve the matter.
I know from personal experience that meet hundreds of clients is virtually impossible but that is where the difference is made by a great customer service.
Sometimes it takes a little time to solve problems, sometimes it takes more.
I understand the anger or disappointment but better to have the willingness to solve the problems that the total absence.
However, I hope that the problem will be resolved soon Smiley

Ok, I want to say one thing.
I had several problems with my hosted blade and sometimes I'm angry a lot.
I have submitted at least 20 support tickets and I also mistreated the gaw boys but...
never never I had so much help from a company.
"Gaw boys" are great (let me mention a particular man, Luke Rusten).
He has been with me several hours to solve my problem.
The problems are always there in every situation and no one is immune.
The difference is made by men and relationships with customers:  Gaw miners in this is second to none.
So I would recommend it to everyone because trust me, they are giving first place always customer satisfaction.

P.S. Nobody forced me to write anything because believe me I am not a person so easy to tease.

I've ordered a few times through GAW as well and have had some good and some not so good (but still ok) dealings so far. My first gridseed order came with a bad power brick. That power brick is still sitting on the floor in my computer room because they couldn't figure out how to help me with it. I was expecting some kind of reimbursement or replacement but I gave up after a few days of back and forth emails and I just wound up buying my own 12v power plugs for the gridseeds instead. I wasn't too bothered with this though because I actually prefer the power plugs over the brick so I didn't mind and didn't press the subject.

My second order of gridseeds came with no issues and everything is in working order.

I've personally talked with Josh on the phone and think he's a good guy with good intentions. Overall I like the company.

With that said I've not spent another dime on any hardware since I overpaid for those gridseeds and their prices dropped 60+% in less than a few weeks. I think this whole business if shady as hell and I'm debating if I want to even bother with it anymore. I don't blame GAW at all but the hardware manufacturers are taking you all (including me) out to lunch right now and we're all paying the bill. Between scams, broken contracts, missed deadlines, false promises, crappy broken hardware and under performing devices, I'm sitting on the sidelines until I see something a bit more trustworthy.

'The right to privacy matters'
Hey all, since I know as a newbie poster and account I ought to share that I am a long timer lurker to the forum this year. I only recently got into mining this year with the gridseeds. I too fell victim price falls. I bought Gridseeds back before GAW even was around at over 200 each so trust me I feel everyone's pain. In excess of 25 gridseeds kind of pain. Unfortunately, such is the name of the game as difficulty goes up hardware viability goes down etc but I am so happy to have GAW. In my particular situation having blades at home was no option. I have the usual cooling, noise but more importantly I have a wife and nobody wants an upset wife with fans buzzing 24/7 nonstop. So I took a shot with GAW on some hosted blades. I have been thrilled!

I thought I would share my support story today as well because my blades were hashing for about a week and I made some pool changes which caused one of my hosted blades to hash at half. Essentially a single blade issue. Anyways, I just wanted to specifically thank Luke from GAW today for going above and beyond helping me out with my hosted blade this morning. Luke worked with me via the ticket system all morning long and resolved it for me. I honestly am not sure what problem other people are having with the ticket system.

I will admit there have been some growing pains I am sure and maybe I am a bit naive as a newbie in this industry overall this year but I have had great interactions with various of the staff at GAW. My tip is to use the ticket system as not only is there a record you can see who you are working with as they are assigned to your ticket. From what I gather they are at it 24/7 there trying to keep up. Yes there was some time between my ticket opening and some action but also I think its hard to expect much at 1am when I opened my ticket. I could always host myself but these are some pro cons of a hosted solution. Overall I think they are close to nailing it.

Overall, mining has demands but I am pleased to say GAW has fulfilled my needs. I am hoping their own products will be even better supported. Anyways, I hope people are out there taking advantage of the slight drop in difficulty from last week and getting themselves some nice stash of altcoins. Good luck out there and crossing fingers for some price rises later this year and next.

Cheers everyone... C

Seriously starting to NOT trust this thread.  Every time people complain some "new to the forum" poster has a positive experience with the same issue.

well you know me. and GAW is funky weird .   I HAVE ORDERED  more then 7 orders total of  2k plus

order 1851  was five grid seeds   all good items.  but order was delayed due to a large paypal fraud done to them
they gave me a free sixth grid seed.

order 2552  a few wires perfect order.

order 2574 five grid seeds good price pretty fast shipping 1 dead usb2 cable

order 3675 a 20 port hub some wires.  they sent me a pair of 13 port hubs and the correct wires.   this was  a big issue for me I freaked out complained bitterly on this site saying they are on my s list I will never buy again .  they reached out to me fixed all issues even the one I did tearing down a rig to pull a 20 port hub since they did not send me the correct hub and ran out of stock..  this error cost me about 200 usd. they gave me 180 in refunds and let me keep the pair of 13 port hubs.

order 4708 I grabbed 5 gridseeds at the new price of 60 each for members.  they were silver not gold and they are used.  but so far they work fine.  At 60 bucks I am willing to buy used just tell me they are used.   oh 1 bad usb2 cable.

order 4830 2 power bricks and 1 gold grid seed new at 60 for the grid seed .   power bricks good   second perfect order.

order 4982 2 grid seeds at 60 each comes tomorrow.

based on my orders they did 3000 orders in about  32 days.  they also host a lot of hash power.

my guess is they need more staff and are overworked.  as for the post office not showing that it was shipped.

I sell a lot on ebay and I use the post office a lot .  If you do not walk you delivery up to the window and have them scan a receipt the post office fucks it up a lot.

So I go 3 to 6 times a week. almost every day if I have a hot item..  I let them scan in my prepaid  labels.  but and here is a big but if you go with 5 packages they ask you to use a scan sheet.
guess what they fuck the scan sheets up a lot.

So what happens is   a guy selling 100 or 200 items a day gets a shit load of no scans.  Unless he makes friends with a clerk at the local post office.

I don't defend many sellers on this site. (DzCoop people will understand why)   but I think if you are east coast based GAW out of Massachusetts with a cc or paypal is your best choice as a seller.

I will order from them again.  I just wish they had better quality control.  But they have fixed everything I mentioned.  (well they don't list the 60 usd grid seeds for members as used so far 5 of 6 were used.)

I do not mind paying 60 for used ones just tell us.

I had one of mine deleted a while ago for asking a simple question.
that doesn't seem fair for a forum.

I ordered two blades when the website said they were in stock. Got an email saying they were shipped on the 7th, but all USPS has received is electronic info, no shipment. This is now two days after GAW said it shipped, but USPS has not received anything.

What happened to in-stock with immediate shipping? Shipping is not send out electronic info but holding merchandise.
This order from the 7th still has not shipped according to USPS. I love how GAW sends USPS electronic info, and say the order is "shipped" but USPS has yet to receive any shipment....

My GAW Miners customer service experience has been weak so far. Sure, lots of different responses but no answers.

this happened to me as well but it will eventually update

This is a issue with USPS, and not something we can control Smiley

I don't believe that this is a USPS problem. If my order was shipped when your website said it was shipped, I would have it by now since I paid extra for 2-3 day priority mail. It simply hasn't shipped yet! There is no lag in tracking update. Why does GAW continue to blame USPS? Now 6 days after the order and nothing has shipped..

USPS has lost about 20-30% of our packages. So, thats typically the case in situations like this. But if you an PM me your order number, I will personally find out whats going on, thanks!

Is the problem deeper than just "losing" packages? I've had hundreds of packages and have never lost a single one via USPS. It just seems like there's something much more nefarious going on here than simple loss. Are they being confiscated for some reason?

Nope, its been going on for a while. We have only been using them to gain the scale to then bring the cost of fedex and UPS down to offer free shipping through them.

GAW helped me out with each and every problem I encountered with my orders and my miners are hashing away 24/7 without problems at home. They refunded me more then they should and are open for new ideas!
(They combined orders to save shipping costs and threw in some extra miners when they shipped back a replacement for the DOA miner I received)

All these negative comments are not what GAW Miners deserves, I've ordered from several ASIC suppliers but GAW definetly is my favourite.

+1 for GAW, excellent support and delivery! To the moon!

just curious how much you may have been paid for that defensive post? did the ceo call you and say, hey man post something good ...quick!

maybe I'm wrong and gaw is #1, they should make those foam #1 fingers you can put over your hand, like at a sporting event.
So when you get you miner, if it works, you can put it on, assuming they include it in the package, and wave, "yay...gaw is #1....yay!!!!

What are you trying to proof with such a negative attitude? I spend about $2k at GAW and the only reason I am posting this is because people like you are throwing shit at them based on a few posts and messages instead of actually ordering.

I was in the shitty position where the European customs fucked me over by charging me over $300 extra on import costs and taxes while I asked for a commercial invoice at the comment section when ordering. I also asked for EU power adapters for the usb hubs but I received US ones instead.

They told me that they do not offer a Commercial Invoice, yet they refunded me the full amount because it was such an unexpected drawback for me. They also refunded me for the usb hubs and gave me some store credit for the trouble.

You want proof? I can give you pictures of the orders, pictures of the miners or whatever you even desire. I am posting a defensive post because I actually gave them the chance to proof themselves while you are being negative without spending a single dollar.

What do you people expect from the mining world? free testing? free miners? free compensation when something new comes out and you make less money then expected?

This isn't a fantasy world with a happy ending for everyone, for every miner that is being sold we all have to pay the price of getting less income per hash.

Do you think that every car that is produced will run for years without problems? NO, some will have problems within months! Then why are you people amazed that some miners aren't working 24/7? If you dont trust GAWminers that they are working hard to keep your uptime as high as possible then why not ship them to your home?

Lets not take this to far, I just want to post my experience with them as I feel that the entire forum is made for this.

What gives you the right to call your opinion about GAWminers "the truth"? Every person will have a different feeling about them, respect it and stop spamming the thread trying to prove your point.

Mining Avenger....I like it!

the question is why aren't other people Avenging?  with name like 'the Fury, the Black Widow, the Falcon and the War Machine'

there should be  a lot more 'Avengers' out there who actually paid for this 'service'

I see what you did there, pretty witty.
