Blah blah blah, that's a super old post that's been kicked around before. Good one though, thanks for leaving that here and taking off George Costanza.

I can't believe somebody is still posting this thing Cheesy

The person who wrote it not only forgot to show proof (which he should have done if the deal was real), but also deleted his whole reddit profile.
The ebay profile he claims belongs to GAW's Josh has only one negative from over 12 months and over 30 positive comments. If the deal was real the poster would have left negative feedback don't you think?

It doesn't take a genius to see the whole thing is fake.

The eBay resolution team won't even help you if you submit a ticket.  You really think they created a reddit account to "set the story straight"?

When I first saw this story (back in May I think) that was the bit I liked most, along with the deleted posts presumably by the "defender". I wish someone had quoted those. Anyone who had done business on eBay could smell bullshit in this. High Claim Resolution Team, sounds ominous Grin.

It's hard to tell if the story is credible since the poster was light on evidence, but the shilling and the sockpuppeting are spectacular Smiley. I think that's one of the reasons this story keeps popping up.

Hello All,

I created a Reddit account to set the story straight here. I work on the eBay Resolution Team, and have for over 6 years now. Day in and day out, I see both sellers’ and buyers’ get away with fraud.

After I read this post, I took a quick look at the buyer and case for this claim. This particular case really disturbed me due to the inaccuracy of information given by the seller. I involved a colleague of mine to investigate further to see if the claims were actually true, as I see a lot of cases like these get appealed. We were both appalled by the facts.

As I cannot provide more specifics to this particular claim, I can say that the original poster in this thread is currently being investigated by eBay’s High Claim Resolution Team. The poster misrepresented the facts of this case to eBay claiming the buyer never worked with them or returned the item. The case was updated yesterday after their team learned, and verified, that the buyer did in fact return the item and the seller had signed for it.

Even though the seller received AND signed for the return, they told eBay that they never received the item. Due to the information the seller represented, their payment was returned to them. The seller now has both payment and item. Fortunately, the case is being appealed and should be sorted out in the next few days.

I know it's against eBay’s code of conduct, but I am only speaking about this because it reveals the holes in eBay’s policies. The lesson here is: eBay’s antiquated policies’ allow sellers to get away with cheating its buyers.

We have escalated this case to our department head as it is clear our resolution team needs new internal policies placed.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my two cents, back to work.

Sorry, let me try again.

The Haslets we are selling now will be branded as "Geniuses Hashlets", they will be able to do things other Hashlets will not. They will gain value as those features roll out.

Hashlets with less 'features' to be released Friday,

Lets see how this plays out.

They have been selling gear since early 2014 but I've yet to hear of many people actually getting a full return on investment.
I've heard of people getting a full return with their Antminers!

To be fair that's a result of the whole Scrypt ASIC market going to shit and is not specific to GAW. As a large reseller they may have contributed to the huge influx of hashrate and the drop in profitability but if not them then someone else would have done it.

The amazing part is how they are trying to "bring back ROI" to borrow a phrase from their VB marketing. Who could have thought that in the crypto mining industry LESS transparency is what we all need to feel good. Things we don't know can't hurt us. As long as we get paid.

Well I have seen a lot of people withdraw their money ,  I have seen people that made over 100k investment and took out almost 15k which both happened in a jiffy.

If I see 15k withdraw happenning in a second from a company , I will trust them. The price rise is a bit pain in the ass , 15$ was very cool but right now its 25$ which is not cool for them to raise that much :/ but everything else seems legit. I don't care how they do it , as long as they do it. Hell it could be ponzi that actually works or they might be stealing from elderly or stealing from poor and giving to rich , all I care is do I get paid when I want to? Yes I do. End of story.

That's what I was thinking.
Just a quick 1+1.

They are paying, and have been paying and sending hardware to people for 5 months or even more.

They haven't scammed anybody. There were cases of shipment delays and tickets not being answered, but they eventually satisfied the customers.
There's at least 50 people here who said they had some issues that were resolved and few times more who had no problems at all.

I had not a single issue with GAW and will continue to support them, especially against trolls like flexhash and his other sockpuppets.

I fall in this category too.  I have bought hardware and while I have had my issues and had tickets languish for weeks they did at least eventually respond.  I still have some issues where I felt a little deceived because what it said on the page where I purchased hardware did not exactly jive with what it said in their faq but to their credit the did what the faq said they would do even if it did take a few weeks.  In other words they are like most of the bitcoin businesses I have dealt with in that their customer service isn't that good but they seem to be trying.

But as far as the hashlet thing goes, it just doesn't have any explanation that makes any sense.  In fact the description sounds like technobabble.  I have no evidence that it is a scam, but there are too many red flags suggesting it could be.

 I can not say anything about why they sold these for 15$ thats something I don't know but ;

People who say how they pay more if I understand correctly they charge a lot for maintainence and that causes them to be able to look like they pay out more Cheesy that way they can get the difference as maintainence cost Cheesy

Some noteworthy news to spoil your evening or whatever the time of day you're in.

We will be taking Hashlets out of stock at the end of today. We will spend the few days adding capacity to prepare for Fridays launch

[...]

The pricing for "Geniuses Hashlets" will increase/stay the same, to protect the features and development we are doing with them. So no worries about getting caught in a price drop.

But, we will have a number new options on Friday what will appeal at different price points

And this from the "bizarre explanations" category:

Quote
it takes about twice the processing power to make all those [double] payout [...] Upgrade payment servers to increase payout processing time

Huh

So they have all this hashing power, but fail to process the payments. Riiiiiiiight.

I would expect them to run a cluster of VM's just add more CPU allocation and tada its done.

You do know people are paid off to give good reviews/defend Gawminers?

Source? Or seriously STFU until you have something reliable.

Calm down dude. Some dude said he was given hashlets to do a review on them and they let him keep them, at least that's what he said. It wasn't a critical review and didn't say a lot of anything so I think it was money wasted. I believe he did state he got them in the review. It's not uncommon.

That was in referene to all his other baseless posts... I just happened to quote that one.

Honestly... I think we are just feeding into this troll at this point.. It's probably best to just stop reply:P

I wonder how much josh is paying EvilPanda and tsoPANos for their signature space.

Gaw is running a signature campaign.

And this means what?

This week, the hashlet price went up twice. Did it go up due to supply and demand or did it go up to continue to pay customers higher returns (as advertised more than twice of wafflepool) that are mining on zenpool?
There isn't any logic here.  There have been a ton of Hashlets sold at $15.99 and none of those are even close to breakeven.   There would be any reason to raise more money so quickly.   Also ZenPool doesn't pay more than twice of wafflepool, it is actually about 50% more, at least today.
