Doesn't really make much difference it won't earn you anymore btc. Just let the pool decide and let it run.

What are the benefits of changing the difficulty at which you mine? The pool im in has the default set to 8 but i see in pictures alot of you guys are doing 512.

I have this little stick doin great, i love it. 10gh/s at 175mhz. 0 HW errors.

its not the greatest quality but here is what these things look like with thermal camera

Very interesting to see! What frequency and cooling do they run with? 95°F seems pretty cold.

200 with the volts pretty much stock.. the pot is / on the lower right corner.
the hub cant do all 5 at higher than 200..

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Unplug it and plug it in again while cgminer-gekko is open. Might take a couple of tries but that's what I have to do with mine.

yes the green light comes on. the device shows as compac bitcoin miner in my device manager.
im only using easyminer as its a click n go thing. im not that great with the command prompt stuff with no gui. but ill download it and try it out

when i open cgminer (4.9.2 for windows) it says usbinit, open device failed, err -12
you need to install a winusbdriver for - amu device 3:2 and asscociate -amu device 3:2with winusb using zadig

no devices detected!

edit - ive updated with zadig now it just says no devices detected. i installed the winusb v6.1.7600 driver

edit - ive downloaded the custom cgminer and input my info in to the .bat file
my device now shows up but the device wont start. says no valid hashes for over 10 sec attempting to reset
then attempted reset got err:(0) libusb_success
then goes to zombie

Does the LED turn green when you plug it in?

In the Zadig program, check the option to list all devices. In the drop-down box you should see something like GekkoScience Compac BM1384. Select that, and click the big button (it'll either say Install Driver or Replace Driver, either way). Once the driver is installed, you should be able to see it in cgminer.

I don't know much about easyminer, but I believe it's a wrapper for something else. If it's a wrapper for BFG, I don't think you need to worry about drivers like you would with cgminer. But you'd have to be using BFG 5.4 or newer, preferably the newest version. It has the best Compac support. The very best Compac support comes from cgminer-gekko, as described in the first post. If you have not yet read the first post (or the first page of this thread), go do that.

Hi guys !

This are my "custom" firmware for small router...

I'm using a superpbag usb hub, 2 gekko miner (i'm waiting the other ones this weeks) and a w703n router.

Firmware links:

For mr3020 : https://mega.nz/#!IkdzyLbQ!WLIeEDji3Y6jugY5IDtidH1ApX8SFbR9g0i5x1zob2I

for w703n : https://mega.nz/#!cpchEDqT!pDJt512yUsxh9qlrF9-Aa6_zaQfkjSupGEK-Rn_4qrw

After flashing firmware, router will start with DHCP function (router find it's own IP address)

So for finding your router on your network, you can use an ip scanner like http://angryip.org/

after finding you ip, go on webpage

Defaut password is "root"

then configure your pool and option like Gekko frequency in cgminer page

Save and restart

And your rig mining

If you need firmware for other router, you can ask, it may possible to me to build it...

Sometimes I see the cgminer-gekko program crash.
Only often a stick goes  zombie, but I haven't optimised vcore/freq/current too much.

That exactly why you have zombie...
If vcore/freq aren't tuned, gekko usb will crash... (no enough power to hash)

The actual current will depend on how much your voltage is sagging.
Yea, my voltage sags a bit but since the usb hubs rate the ports in amps that's the number I use to dial the stick in to max. for the hub.

I tend to mark 4W at 200MHz, about 6.8W at 300MHz. The actual current will depend on how much your voltage is sagging.

Really?  Wow, mine at 262.5 freq only pulled 1.0-ish amps.  Running them at 362.5 freq now and they see 2.04 amp.

Mines running 235Mhz and pulls 1.14-1.16Amps.

On JB I have now:
0.00154751999999999993

BTC Est. Earnings

But I will only get this when a block is found?

Compacs are running 250 MHz, heatsink is quite hot, they run on the USB 3.0 bus. Should see with USB doctor how much current they draw now.. (av 13.5 GH/S)

Yes, you will only receive a payout from a pool when a block is found.  Any pool, not just bravo mining.  The estimate is made based on the number of shares you submitted vs. the total shares of the pool for that round.

You should have a fan on the compacs at that frequency.  They will be pulling just about 1.0 amps at 250 freq.
