Can you help me?

How do I use the screw to adjust the compacF current?

If I turn right, does the stick current increase or decrease?

Does this adjustment decrease or increase the stick's mining ability?

If so that is mine lol.  All that is measuring though is total power consumption across the PCIe power.

but aren't the things always connected directly to the mining power supply? as seen here on the picture



and how strong of the number of watts, in your opinion, should be a mining power supply, if one would come with the a few gekko hubs including compac f and later maybe a few gekko terminus r606?
and which mining power supply would you recommend including the power consumption indicator?

Have you tried using one of the USB power meters that we post in this thread?  They just go in between the port and the CompacF to tell you how many AMPs it is using.  I ask because you could have two sticks that even though they are low on the frequency the actual voltage regulator on the CompacF (the little adjuster on the bottom right of the CompacF) may need to be adjusted.  If both sticks are seeing 3A or more it will cause the hub to shut them down as well.  The combined rating for each pair is 6A.  I only suggest this because I have had this happen in the past as well.


I have the usb meter, today it is reading 2.4 to 2.7A the stick.
Could you tell me how the adjuster works (left side what does it do? right side?) so I can adjust?

What value would it be good to adjust and leave?

That would have to be a stand-alone device. AFAIK the hubs do not have any voltage/current monitor circuits that can provide the signals need to report power used and report it via USB.

The ports being disabled by cgminer, more likely what's happening is the regulator's running weak or hot and when two sticks are plugged in, it's turning off.

The lines between ports on the top case indicate which ports share a voltage regulator. It's also noted on the label on the bottom. If you're having trouble, try 3 sticks per hub, one per linked pair. Might also help to provide a bit of airflow into the hub itself.


Sidehack I'm already in contact with 419mining, thank you very much, I believe I said something.

I still have a gekko usb hub with a problem on ports 2 and 5 when I use 2 compacF, I have a gekko hub that works normally with 4 compacF, but another cgminer keeps disabling these ports if I try to use 2 compacF together ports 2 and 5.
I've already put ventilation on the hub, it decreases to 400mhz (normally I use 450mhz) and even then only this hub has this problem.
Is there something to do or is it a problem with the voltage controller as well?

If you've got a half-decent hot air soldering station, or an iron and some skills, replacing a regulator chip is pretty easy.

How long you pretendes sell the new usb hub? Do you have idea?

Can a technical person in electronics change this regulator chip or is it not possible to change it?

Really, when I use 3 compacF on this usb hub gekko the usb port stops being disabled by cgminer.

I already have ventilation in the hub too, the environment of the hubs does not have a high temperature, even putting your hand close.
What I notice is that I'm losing usb ports little by little.

I bought from 419mining.com, I've already sent 2 emails and they don't respond, the hub hasn't had 2 weeks of use.

I have another usb hub gekko that when I put 4 compacF ports 2 and 5 are being disabled by cgminer, I'm using 450mhz in the configuration with ventilation, I tested with 300mhz and I had the same situation.

If I only leave port 2 with compacF, it works normally, would this hub be causing problems too? In this case it worked with 4 compacF (ports 4 and 7 are ok) for 1 week.

I have a third usb hub gekko with 4 compacF (ports 2, 4, 5 and 7 with compacF) and it works normally for 1 month.

Can you help me by asking 419mining.com to respond to support emails, please?

Ports 2 and 5 on my Gekko usb hub stopped working, I tested it with a usb meter and it doesn't show it has power.

Before they worked normally, unfortunately the compacF was like ZOMBIE in cgminer and I noticed that.

Is there anything I can do or are the ports already gone in this case?

It uses the time to connect to the pool to decide how the pool performs, which is completely incorrect.

Well, I finally get my Solo Mining setup working. I put a 120mm fan in front of the Compact F and now its very cool (about 42°C). Didn't thought that would affect cooling that much. Without cooling at 200Mhz it's to hot to even touch the heatsink. Now it's running at 400Mhz. Maybe I go a little bit higher the next days.

But now I've found another problem with my setup. the latency to kanopool is quite high. As I'm from Germany, I use the server in the Netherlands. So I started some ping tests:

Um, you must be doing something terribly wrong with your internet or there's something wrong with the program you are using to test.
If you are using a VPN or Tor or other similar delay on your data, then that's a really bad idea and the cause of your terrible latency,
and on top of that, your ping values are meaningless since they will change regularly when using such connections.
If this is the case, then yes please don't mine on KanoPool with those added delays.

From the German (frankfurt) node to the Netherlands (amsterdam) node in only a 7ms ping.
Again, if you are getting a 246ms average ping, then you are doing something terribly wrong with your internet.

I tested again with normal ping in cmdline and it shows avg. 12ms to kano.is. with the stratum ping tool it shows 140ms. so there is something wrong with this tool obviously.
I have a FTTH connection and using it without a VPN or Tor so this should be good. cgminer is running in a ubuntu VM on my home server.
