Hi Again,

With the fear of this turning into a flaming thread for being stupid, and getting grilled for it, does this look right to you? Every now and then something gets accepted (been running for 12 hours or so) but as you can see, loads of "Share Above Target". I am struggling to get a clear understanding of the share above target (and Best Share) thing.

Thanks
Stav'

2020deception: You did not buy it from GekkoScience. You bought it from a reseller. If you check the order details there should be further info on the actual seller, including some kind of contact info.

Stavroski: Connect to the pool and let it mine for a while - an hour at least. Typically the starting share threshold is high because pools expect a higher hashrate so it may take a while before any shares register, but after a few the pool should adjust the threshold. You may also look into the --suggest-diff command.

Thanks @sidehack. You were absolutely right. It's almost like you know the product inside and out, as if you make them! Smiley

Constant "Share Above Target"

Hi all,

I have scoured the internet and forums for an answer to no avail.

Long and short of it, I have purchased a NewPac USB miner, I have compiled (on a pi) using https://github.com/vthoang/cgminer as instructed.

No matter what I do, no matter where I mine to (nice hash, Ck Pool- Solo & Slush pool) all I get is "Share Above Target".

I am plugged into a powered USB hub (3amp to the USB port), haven't changed any voltage or frequency settings and am doing everything that is expected as per all manuals / walkthroughs I have found online.
When in CKPool (solo), the pool doesn't acknowledge I am even mining to it.

What am I doing wrong?!

I have an OK internet connection (20mg down, 4mg or so up)

Thanks
Stav

Who's the seller? If you contact the seller directly you should be taken care of.

Also. Bit of diagnostics. Is the circuit board inside green or yellow? There are two heatsinks, one solid and one milled around the base; is the top one or the bottom one milled?

I purchased on Amazon from GekkoScience but the return window ended very quickly. Is there a contact a GekkoScience that anyone is aware of?

The board is yellow and the top one is milled.

Yes. Power cycling hasn’t worked. I am using a BINZET AC to DC 12V 10A 120W (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Z9X4GLW) to power each unit.

Have you power cycled the unit? How are you powering them?

No custom settings or overclocking. Stock power. I am running 3 of them and only one is having this problem. It began about a day after I plugged it in. I wanted to return thinking it may be defective but it outside the return window so I figured I’d go for support here.

My r606 all of a sudden began saying
Found 0 chip(s) while running with CGMiner on a raspberry pi. Has anyone came across this?

What were your settings? How is the R606 powered?

Has anyone have burnt ports on R606? I have 4 and have 2 burnt PCIE ports, They are running on server ps with breakout board.

I am using a 1,000 watt seasonic psu for 2 R606's, 2 HS1plus and 2 Futurebit Apollo's - no burnt ports on any of them.

Nope, no problems. I am using GS breakout board, GS HUB, GS R606, power supply is HP 1000 W compatible with GS breakoutboard, all running 6 month+ now.

What freq and voltage setting were they running at? What gauge wire was the cable made from?

Im running a GS hub with 6xnewpacs at 625freq and an R606 V5 675freq all from a 460w HP PSU with GS breakout board. The Breakout board ive had for ages.

I’m also running an S9 (space heater) from a 1500w HP PSU with GS breakout board. Runs 750w for hours most evenings with no problems either.

Hi sidehack,
Thx for making such good devices.
My R606 are after some experimenting over 1Th/s @ vcore 4, this is really amazing, the software is not doing its correcting yet (plateau etc.). so i think i can go further, heat is hardly increasing.
Gonna buy me some more Smiley

I am thinking about getting a small screen and cutting the clear acrylic side and having the screen mounted there with a btc ticker displayed.

That should be pretty simple, there are a bunch of tutorials for making a Bitcoin Ticker. I may play around and make one that brings back BTC, ETH and LTC.
