Update for January 12th 2016 09:30am UTC

We are still working on the problem with our homepage and getting it back on. The relaunch is planned within today.
Again: This is a temporary issue that did not affect the backend and, of course, will not affect payouts.

Thanks for notifying. I was worried whether Genesis mining got shut down or DDoS-ed!

Btw, I have a question regarding transfer of contracts. Can I transfer my ongoing one year SHA-256 and lifetime SHA-256 contracts to Ethereum mining until it turns into a POS stage?

It will be helpful if you allow us to do so Smiley

Please get it fixed ASAP, before your discount code expires. Sad

We have plans about the code, but we will wait until all is up and running first.

Why is the site down admin? Working on something?

We have already posted information here.

Hi Genesis Mining Community

We have a treat for you here until Midnight UTC timezone tomorrow.

Use code BTCT10 to get 10% off Ether and X11 contracts.

This does not work for SHA 256 contracts, just those mentioned.

Happy Mining Guys and Gals.

Time to share my experience

The only reason i joined was because i didn't take the daily maintenance fee into account properly, otherwise i would never have joined.. Why? Because if you purchase sha256 mining, nearly 45% of your daily profit at (93,448,670,796 difficulty) goes into the maintenance
So i decided to ask for a refund since they claimed to offer a 5 day moneyback guarantee...At first i got an e-mail saying that the contracts are non cancelable blah blah, however after insisting they agreed to refund me

So i should have got refunded what i invested minus what i have earned so far, however i got ripped of by about 0.03 Btc ~ 15$..

For those still wondering if they should or not invest in cloud mining, here is the stats to help you make a decision

1TH's purchased for 0.975 Btc ~ $419 at 93,448,670,796 Difficulty will generate after fees 0.0031 Btc ~ $1.33 daily
So even without any difficulty increase you will still need nearly 1 year to just break even... And in about 20 hours the difficulty will increase by about 12% so the same contract will only generate $1.187 instead of $1.33 in Btc profit daily

Is this true? Has Genesis honored a 5 day money back guarantee? I signed up less than 48 hrs ago (paid in bitcoin), and I've just requested a full refund. If Genesis is legit I have nothing to worry about but... Any help would be much appreciated.

To those who are interested in Ether mining and wish to avoid the hassle of setting up Ether wallet, get a Poloniex account and generate an Ether address. Hopefully, 6 months down the road Ether wallet matures and you could transfer the Ethers.

Sooooo how many of you got paid double yesterday??

I guess it was an accident.

Did anyone else get 2 payouts the same?

I bet it was just a mistake when processing the payouts for yesterday. Just checked mine and payouts were the same or close to one another in terms of amount paid. That means you got lucky then. Here you can see a list of my previous payouts, just in case  Roll Eyes

I have been using Genesis Mining for quite some time now and everything seems to be legit (at least). For several weeks, I have gone into mining with them by purchasing a 1.5 mh/s X11 contract. Just to be safe, I have invested a minimal amount, but as soon as I get ROI (if I did), then I will upgrade my hashrate. Does anybody know how long it would take approximately to reach ROI with a 1 year contract of x11 mining algorithm?  Huh

Or maybe try a hosting service that lets you sell your position giving a real chance at "roi."
And have the risk the whole operation been shut down by law, you lose everything, no thank you.

can someone convince me about GM services? I heard lots of rumors but I know some of them just only shouting without having experience with GM, aint gonna hear this kind of comment.

i want to hear someone who already investing in GM, what is better lifetime with 1TH or with 20Mh? And how much earning if I buy this amount? I didn't see any profit calculator on their site

There a number of people in the forums that bash legit services and promote scams. So always check things on your own.

I have invested in GM contracts for some time. It is hard to say which is "better". X11 is doing very well at the moment (please see my previous posting). SHA is a bit more difficult to predict because of difficulty increases. On the other hand, the maintenance fee for sha lifetime contracts was reduced recently. So payouts for new sha contracts are now much better, as well.

I am tracking payouts for sha and X11 and GM is doing exactly doing what they promise. As for any investment there is no guarantee for making a profit, though. Any service that promises you a profit is a scam.

Hope this helps!

Hey Wintermute

Thank you for sharing the result and strategy. I think the reduce of cost is because the btc price went up quite a bit yes?

Maintenance fee reduction is probably related to more efficient hardware and electricity prices.

Some services fix the hardware prices in BTC, which to a certain extent might make sense, but is bad if the BTC price goes up. GM is known for fixing their prices in USD and kept prices constant when the BTC price went up in the past (which is good for its clients).

It's very important to note tho, that maintenance prices will not go down on existing contracts. For that reason, I am still under water after a year of mining with Genesis-mining. You're really better off just buying and hodling BTC if you were planning to invest in SHA.

However, you might also have other reasons to invest other then ROI, for example you want to be part of the mining scene. In that case investing in SHA mining might still be for you.

And maybe X11 is better?
