You're over-bringing Dortmund here mate.
They will still face a tough match at this time not only talking about Bayern but there are several clubs that might be troublesome because if you look at the current schedule, there are still Bayern, Union and Frankfurt.

Leverkusen have climbed many positions and reached a safe place in the standings already. Xabi Alonso has made a really positive impact on the team truthfully. They have even caught up with Frankfurt which are at the sixth position in the standings. It is an important position for qualifying for the Europa Conference League. I don't know how much competitive Leverkusen are planning to be for that position in the remaining period of time in the season in the Bundesliga though.

I guess their priority now is the Europa League. Because they are still maintaining their presence as they have reached the quarter finals. I must admit that they have got one of the easiest draws in this stage as well which is against Royale Union SG. They should fully concentrate on it to reach the semi finals.

I agree with you, if they win against Bayern Munich it cannot be a guarantee that they will be able to claim the title, it's just that they have an advantage. I am not sure what you base your conclusions on to be honest, but German soccer is suffering as we speak from decreased competitive reputation.

In the Europa League:
Freiburg - out with three goals difference
Union Berlin - out with three goals difference
Leverkusen did a good against a very average opponent

In the Champions League:
Leipzig - out with seven goals difference
Frankfurt - out with five goals difference
Dortmund - out with one goal difference, but Chelsea was clearly the better team
Bayern still in the race, playing solid.

This is not a very good result if you ask me. I know that both Leipzig and Frankfurt had strong opponents, but they didn't have the tiniest of chances. The defeats were ugly. The same counts for Union Berlin and Freiburg, ok they were a bit unlucky.

There is no doubt about Bayern Munich power and quality but here we have to check other teams are also now improving as they are feeling they need to be had better results before end of this season same happening in case of Bayer Leverkusen which was having the worst start of this season but after change of coach now they are doing amazing stuff with currently 9th in Bundesliga and reached in quarter-final of the Europa Cup which is impressive from them.

Most chances Bayern Munich will be having to win here at BayArena Leverkusen because in last four meetings they never lost any game but this time we can expect good challenge from them as now they are also looking for better end of this season and good preparation for the next season.

I agree that it looks like we are talking about a situation where it is not the same and we are talking about Bayern being way too close to other teams right now, they have just 2 point difference between them and Dortmund, one loss from Bayern and one win from Dortmund and we have Dortmund at the top right now. This is why it is important to realize that Bayern has been not so well this year at the league.

This is exactly why I assumed they wouldn't be good in UCL like previous years as well, but they still are, and they managed to beat PSG somehow, a team that has having hard time in bundesliga beating PSG easily was a shocker to me as well.

I don't share this optimism about Dortmund's competitiveness, they are only two points behind now, but Bayern are back in top form after the break and I'm sure they will only widen that gap. In Dortmund, everything can be the opposite, after a very good win streak they lost to Chelsea and drew against Schalke, perhaps this is can be the beginning of their decline in form.
