The good news about Dortmund getting knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea is they can focus on the Bundesliga and challenge for the title. I never thought Union would be able to challenge because they have failed to get points when Bayern have dropped them and Bayern are occupied in the Champions League. I think Dortmund can be the favorites to win the league because they can focus only on the league and do not have to worry about playing many games and resting players. Bayern will have to rest players and they will drop points. Dortmund have the quality to win every game until the end of the season.

Dortmund is in the same position with Bayer Munich but I doubt if Dortmund has the strength to compete to be in the first position with Bayern Munich. Dortmund is doing very well in Bundesliga to be in the position where they are but Bayern Munich still have better quality and strength to remain in the first position. Despite Bayern Munich does not have much point gap, but they still remain the best team in Bundesliga. I can agree for Dortmund to be able to maintain the second position but not with the first position.

There could be a big surprise from Schalke, but seeing their current form I'm not too sure about that. Borussia Dortmund are now in good shape, even though in the Champions League they had to be eliminated because in the second leg Chelsea won the match with a score of 2-0 and that made Borussia Dortmund really have to leave the Champions League. Eliminating them in the competition will make them focus more on the Bundesliga, because living here they have big hopes now.

I am very happy to see their performance in the Bundesliga this season, but they are not enough to be able to compete with the 2 clubs that are indeed on the path of competition to become champions. Their last 3 matches have failed to win a game which means they have to go back to chasing the 2 clubs that are above them now. But apart from all that, this season they are performing well.

Since May 2021 the activities of the sports director have been distributed on different shoulders. That seems to have worked quite well. But everyone wants to do the job they were hired for. Now everyone else can concentrate 100% on their job again. So I think it was the right decision to hire a sports director again.
But whether Rouven Schröder is the right person for this job or not? Time will tell.

With or without a sporting director, RB Leipzig has been performing very well in recent seasons and the addiction of a sporting director will help in improving teams fitness and also harness the young players in the squad. Rouven Schröder's performance with Schalke shouldn't be a yardstick to determine how well he can do at Leipzig. Judging from the fact that he is a very experienced football expert, I think he will do a great job when he resumes his duty as the sporting director of RB Leipzig.

Leipzig has been performing well regardless of not having a sporting director. But since now they have one they will probably perform better.
Honestly, I don't think it's gonna make much of a difference.

I don't think that just because they got a sporting director they are going to be a lot better.

As the season began, Union Berlin impressed many people by their performance during this season.
