In terms of the championship I still feel there will be no club that can compete with the real Bayern.
Let alone Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund which incidentally is often referred to as a rival to Bayern alone cannot compete with Bayern in the championship, especially with Freiburg which is dominated by evenly distributed players.
I don't really expect anything for the championship competition for Freiburg, but they can still compete in the top 4 which is good because in the last few seasons only Leipzig and Dortmund have always been the most active in the top 4 without any other competition.
There is no team in the Bundesliga that rivals Bayern Munich. Because Bayern Munich spent a lot of money building their squad. And compared to Bayern Munich, other teams spend very little money to build their team. However, Freiburg has been playing very well this season. We should really appreciate it.
I'm not saying Freiburg will be champions of the Bundesliga. But this season they will definitely stand in the way of Bayern Munich's title. They will not allow Bayern Munich to dominate like in previous seasons. If Freiburg can keep up this streak, Bayern Munich's dominance in the Bundesliga will no doubt slowly diminish.
But this is precisely what makes a real comparison and of course the stigma about the Bundesliga is that the farmers' league is really reflected here because Bayern are still dominating and their hegemony has now been for a decade which makes us know that money speaks everything in this case.
Actually there are Dortmund who should be able to but they don't want to gamble with the title and set their focus on producing talented players and selling them for the club's benefit.
Freiburg's performance over the past 2 seasons has indeed improved and this is indeed something good for them with a squad that can be said to be ordinary when compared to big clubs there like Bayern, Leipzig or Dortmund but they can still be consistent now.
Streich can really take advantage of the performance of Freiburg players who are of equal quality from every line but their teamwork is very good and the synchronization on the field is also very good so they are indeed dark horses in the Bundesliga at this time.
Even during this season, only 2 defeats from 13 matches of course this is very good for a club that is not too seeded.
That was well phrased and their confidence isn't going to decrease with every point they are winning right now. When they had their draw against Hertha with a 2:2 and then the 5:0 loss against Bayern some weeks ago, I thought that's the moment when Freiburg might more or less fall apart. Not like falling down to relegation rankings, but I certainly didn't expect a solid winning streak against Bremen, Schalke and Cologne with goal stats of 6:0! That is what really impressed me and they deserve to be in the table where they are.
There upcoming game against Leipzig will be a hard one, and that is one is quite a preliminary match point even though the season is still very young. Distancing Leipzig by 8 points or letting them get closer to 2 points is a huge difference. I wish them the best for that game as their budget is about 15th rank out of the 18 Bundesliga clubs. That's amazing!
They are indeed quite good this season and not only in the Bundesliga but also in the Europa League they are firmly at the top and this clearly makes them more confident and of course gets a pretty good profit from a financial point of view for qualifying for the next round in the Europa League.
But the last 2 matches before the long holiday for Freiburg are definitely interesting because there are Leipzig and Union which we know that Leipzig are the top 4 subscriptions in the bundesliga and their performance is also in pretty good shape now and Union which is another dark horse surprise with Freiburg.
Of course it will be interesting in their last 2 matches.
