It was really important for Dortmund to win against Mainz in that away match. Because they were going to be four points away from Bayern Munich after doing it. And thankfully, they made it by 1-0. It wasn't an easy one for Dortmund that's for certain. Mainz were one of the solid teams in matches home in the Bundesliga. Dortmund had a hard time but still beat them. I'm happy now because there is finally a real competition between Dortmund and Bayern Munich for the title as of now.

Yeah a draw was a more logical results since dortmund team seemed a bit off today not much goal threatening chances and yet they still managed to win the game, they are now with four points behind bayern there is still hope for them but as you said they don't seem solid enough, bayern team will be the champion this season.

The 87th minutes goal of Axel was a big relief to Dortmund. That particular goal by the captain meant so many things to them. It has given Dortmund the believe of wining the league and it has continued to maintain their form. Bayern Munich have been underperforming lately, but still face quite a bit of rubble. Can you check how many points they were ahead. It is perhaps also more fun to follow this way than a few years ago, they have sometimes become champions with a 25 point lead for example, then the fun quickly wears off that way. Dortmund does not have their best season among recent ones but it seems Bayern are losing their best performance in this season too. It gives opportunity to Dortmund and it is a perfect season for them to achieve something, a title. Because next season, Haaland will probably move out of the club and they will have to rebuild their attacking system that can take a few seasons.
If they can not take a title in this season, they will waste a great opportunity and will have to hope for another bad than normal season of Bayern. It won't happen too often with Bayern in Bundesliga.
I believe that Bayern is losing their performance mainly because there is no competition. We are aware that they are capable of playing much much better, we have seen them destroy Salzburg with vengeance when they got a tie on the first game and we know that they could dominate anyone in Bundesliga as well. The only difference is that, they do not feel the same type of feeling in the league anymore.If they can not take a title in this season, they will waste a great opportunity and will have to hope for another bad than normal season of Bayern. The points difference is there, and they believe that they won't be caught and that makes them not really care about the games all that much, which in return results with them not playing their best selves and end up not winning games here and there.
After seeing a really poor Dortmund in the first half, my doubts increased about them to win this game. But finally, they have just scored the goal they have been searching for. They improved their performance in the second half actually and Haaland entered the game as well. But Witsel scored the goal. There are only a few minutes left for the game to finish now. Dortmund must be able to keep this 1-0 advantage somehow to the end. This win will carry them to four points behind Bayern Munich in the standings and the title competition will be higher than ever.

The match I was waiting for was quite monotonous and less exciting than what I expected now.
They weren't even better than Mainz in terms of chances even though they did have possession.
I will not continue watching this because I think the result will be the same now with no goals in this match

Union is still one of the dark horse clubs this season, but indeed their form towards the end of this season was not so good. The last 5 matches they have run have not been good enough and different to the start of the season.
Maybe Bayern will still be ahead now considering that Union is still not back from the slump
