Eventually Monchengladbach became the temporary leader of the Bundesliga. Previously Bayern Munich competed with Leipzig, now they are ranked 3 and 4.
It's really exciting in the German league now, unexpected teams can compete with other big teams.
Even now Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg are competitors at the top with 1 point difference.
You're right as we see all teams ranked 1-7 only 1-2 points difference, this means the competition is very tight
Some of these teams have a chance to win even though Munich has a greater chance to get the title.
This is common in German Bundesliga until Bayern or another team like Dortmund start their victories in a row and they make a big gap against the followers.I hope this does not happen during this year but I am confident that Bayern Munich will win Bundesliga and will start to make a difference in the upcoming weeks.
I believe a lot of people are going to agree with me that we have had enough of Bayern Munich totally dominating the Bundesliga totally this past decade, am sure their fans are even bored of the fact that they always win without any concrete challenge to them. Hopefully we are going to get a new Champion this season but the possibility of that is very slim.
I doubt their own fans would enjoy finishing a campaign as runner-up instead of winning the title for "excitement-reasons" and have to agree with the fact that "the possibility of that is very slim".
Why? Because to see Bayern not win the league it needs 2 requirements:
1. Bayern struggeling for a more than just 3-4 matches.
2. 1 contender that is able to take advantage through performing a "near-to-perfect" season.
Just remember last campaign when Dortmund has been 9 (!!!) points clear to Bayern by new year, but managed to lose 11 points to Bayern in the 2nd half of the season.
Thus far it seems like 1) could happen, but in the same time every single possible contender (speaking about BVB and RB Leipzig in the first place) struggle winning their games to take advantage.
So even with a semi-optimal season Bayern will be able to secure the title as long as nothing changes for the 2nd factor.
