I hope they won't be like Barca-Messi relationship. What a disaster it would be if you need this particular player to keep winning. Any team should be able to score using nearly all of their players, that's what makes it interesting.
You may be correct, team play is vital to a teams success, but even at that every team needs a key man up front to get the goals and make things happen when called upon, just as Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero, Mbappe etc does.

It's not enough if a team plays so well, but do not have a player who gives them that cutting edge, it's good for every player in a team to be able to score, but it's impossible for some to grab more than a few and that's how it is in every team, those with 1,2...5 or 9 goals a season and those with 25-30+ goals, and lewandowski is that man for Bayern without a doubt

Agree here and that is the risky play Bayern is playing since years. They fully rely on Lewandowski and trust in his body to never miss to many matches. So far this played out quite well, but tomorrow is a new day. And wheneever something serious happens to Robert, Bayern will find themselfes in troubles.

At this moment Müller would possibly the next realistic option behind Lewandowski, but not without losing a lot of quality if Kovac has to rely on him as lone striker.

Kovac can adjust the team to a tactic that a striker like Lewandowski is not needed.
This can happen with muller or any other attacking midfielder.
That's a clear advantage of bayern all these seasons...

Really? I doubt that... I really like Müller, but with him upfront they lag efficiency and the power from the wings can´t unfold much when there is no converter (Lewandowski) in the centre.

That´s also the reason why they obviously eye out for an option behind Lewandowski, that´s why the Mandzukic-rumours make sense f.e.

I am with you... Lewandowski is vital for Bayern, its crazy he was never voted player of the year in Germany by the way...

Seems like Bas Dost move from Sporting Lisboa to Eintracht Frankfurt will happen these days after some weird statements from Portugal earlier this week.

Transfer-fee expected to be €10M

Source: https://www.sportbuzzer.de/artikel/bas-dost-eintracht-frankfurt-adi-huetter-transfer-europa-league-strassburg/

In the same time Ante Rebic with a €40M price-tag might leave Frankfurt after Jovic (to RM) and Haller (to West Ham) did so already and Rebic received harsh critics for his performance in the EL-quali-match against Strasbourg. Bobic said there are offers for him. Transfer is more likely to happen for him in the last week now.

Source: https://www.fr.de/eintracht-frankfurt/eintracht-frankfurt-sge-ante-rebic-wird-verein-wohl-verlassen-zr-12937799.html

10mio, I find it very good for a player who has shot Goals like no other recent years, in the Portuguese league (even almost as many goals as games for Sporting). You know, what you get with the package, for me no 1: 1 replacement for Jovic and / or Haller, but with the appropriate input of the Team He is definitely a player who also can achieve +/- 15 goals again in this Season .

Just as Bobic has formulated it after the Leipzig game, is now also a Rebic departure in the last transfer week in front of the door, then there should also come a replacement.

And on top of that Bas Dost has been in the Bundesliga already (2012-2016 for Wolfsburg where he scored 36 goals in 85 matches, quite good numbers), so there will not be much of a integration/adoption-period for him.

Finally since today the deal is officially sealed. Official numbers released by Sporting even stay a lower transfer-fee of €7M.

Well done, Fredi!

What is Niko Kovač doing to FC Bayern München players is great
They are training wearing a "body armor" of 10kg and the players are complaining

complaining  Huh hellouuuu, you are payed milions of xy-money to play as best as you can, therefore, listen to the trainer and train as hard as you can

Many other trainers have done several things,I don't remember which but one of the Serie A during an interview it was said to him players are complaining about you that you make them run a lot compared to other trainers.

His reply was:People are running for free and for fun and these players are being paid millions to do so so they better run and shut up.

Absolutely, Lewandowski can kill most of the opponents in the league alone, and the most remarkable thing about him is that he basically never misses a match, neither enjured nor suspended - Bayern will then in return have a big problem if he picks up a (serious) injury missing 6-10 matches...

Even a keeper should be able to take a penalty at least.

Bavarians were just too strong with an incredible Lewandowski who scored three goals and owned Schalke all alone - everybody talking about Coutinho and then you have Robert. Cheesy

Can you say something about the match itself - could not watch it, so I would be interested if they have been as dominant as the final score tells?

Schalke had problems creating but its safe to say that they should have been awarded at least one, if not two penalties...

The first half of dortmund was horrible.
in the end, however, the victory was deserved.
the match winner was jadon sancho again, also julian brandt made a very good game after his substitution.

Absolutely right, Brand and Hakimi when subbed in made an impact to the whole team with Witsel taking the nasty battles in the centre.

But fair enough: Cologne showed a lot of heart and ran/fought for their lives. Unluckily, what was to be expected, they couldn´t do that for 90 minutes but got tired after 70 minutes. I can see few other teams doing the same giving Dortmund (and Bayern) a hard time this campaign, but in the end the high quality both teams can bring from the bench will always bring the ability to turn games around after the oponents legs get tired.

Let´s see what Bayern can do to Schalke today 18:30 (UTC+2)

Odds are 11.00 for Schalke, 5.25 for Draw, Bayern, 1.30 for Bayern.

Let´s place some bets here.

I see value in:

- Schalke win or draw @ 3.4
- Both teams to score @ 1.95

Good luck if anybody of you is betting! Wink

Quite an impressive performance from Dortmund tonight, they had to come back from being a goal down at halftime to win the game 1 - 3 away from home against FC Koln.

That'd make it 2 wins from 2 games for Dortmund, as they sit at the top of the bundesliga table.

Well, the first half was not good at all, no body language and no ideas against high-pressing and agressive Cologne-side.

Much better in 2nd half and moral-boost to go home knowing that even in tricky games against hard-fighting, marathon-running opponents patience is key and you can always turn those games in the last 10-20 minutes - I will sleep good now Smiley

Dortmund would have lost the match had they continued playing like they played in the first half, but luckily for them Sancho rose up to the occasion by scoring one goal and creating an assist. If Dortmund continues giving such performances then I’m sure they will be able to dethrone Bayern Munich, and Bundesliga will have a new champion.

It surprises me that Bayern lends Coutinho from Barca, I dont think his playstyle fits Bayerns lineup very well.
Nevertheless he is a very good player and able to turn games on his own.
Its interesting that he is worth 120 millions, didnt expect that either.

Coutinho is a great addition to Bayern.
And Bayern needed to sign some players because they were going to have difficult times for competing the league. Now with Coutinho the team is much stronger at least in the attacking part and alongside Lewandowski, these two can score a lot of goals.

Coutinho is a good player but I don't think he will play a key role in remaking Bayern Munchen great again.A single player can't just do this alone,I think Bayern needs more quality players and together these players will make sure that Bayern fight in the highest levels of both domestic and Champions League.

I second that. I have to admit Coutinho sounds like something, but the whole setup of this transfer, all the failed transfers before and now bringing Coutinho in as top-earner plus saying "That was a transfer for our fans" (or similar) make me doubt that this campaign will hold anything good for FC Hollywood. Well, again: I am biased and really hope to see them struggle for reasons, but frankly I didn´t have such a good feeling to see that will happen since quite some time now, it´s time for a new Bundesliga-champion!  Cool
