The decline in Bayern Munich's performance and quality of play has enabled Leverkusen to dominate the Bundesliga. When Bayern Munich is in good form then the competition for the title will be much fiercer and Leverkusen will not be as easy to top the standings as they are now. Leverkusen have had good moments this season and the presence of Xabi Alonso has made some really good achievements for them, so that it only takes a few matches for them to emerge as candidates to win this season.
IMHO Bayern Munich are actually playing quite well this season. They also succeeded in bringing in Kane. This season Munich has everything to win the Bundesliga. I think Bayern Munich didn't expect that Leverkusen could surprise them and that Xabi would be able to reveal their weaknesses. As far as I remember, Munich played badly after losing surprisingly to Frankfurt. After that, it seemed like other teams tried to expose Munich's weaknesses and the result was that Munich lost and drew against the lower teams. There seems to be something wrong with Munich's tactics this season. It doesn't look like Tuchel has many variables in his tactics.
In my opinion this season Bayern is not playing well, if they were playing well, then they would now have enough points to become champions, but unfortunately Bayern are 16 points away from reaching Leverkerkusen, and it's a great humiliation for all that Bayern passed this season and it wasn't the coach's fault, because when Tuchel arrived at Bayern he met all these current players and he realized that the attack was deficient and that's why he brought Kane. But in my opinion, Tuchel's mistake was not realizing that the problem was not just small and that he should have done much more to solve it. and this would involve restructuring the entire squad, selling more than 60% of the current players and signing others. Even if Bayern had hired the best coach in the world, with that squad Bayern still wouldn't win anything
I don’t know, but at this moment I think Bayern Leverkusen are going to get the Bundesliga title this season with no doubt because they have been at the top of the table throughout the season and they have been unbeatable throughout the season. Although, as you are talking about next season, I think Bayern Munich's performance in the Bundesliga is already finished, as if this season. I don’t see any sign from them that they will improve this season to do more than what they are doing at the moment.
However, for us to know how good Xabi Alonso is and how good Bayern Leverkusen is, I think we should watch their performance next season again. If they are able to do the same thing, we will say they are a great squad with a great manager because this one may be luck, but repeating it won’t be luck, and that is when we can confidently talk about Bayern Leverkusen the way we are talking about Manchester City now.
Leverkusen only needs to win one game to become champions, and a very funny fact in all of this is that looking at Leverkusen's opponent, we see something very funny:
He is an opponent who in the last 5 games has failed to win in any game and has conceded many goals. so next game is a game in which bayern leverkusen have a lot of chances of winning the game and being able to celebrate the bundesliga title and after that leverkusen will be able to focus on the european league and the german cup. Now there is a very important point that I believe the Leverkusen coach will have to talk to the club's management after they win next game, which will be the following: if Leverkusen becomes champion in next game, will Leverkusen take it seriously in the remaining Bundesliga games? To finish the Bundesliga without defeat and make history, or will you simply start to lose games? This issue will have to be discussed by Leverkusen's coach and management after next game if they become champions
No matter how much they improve,Bayern Munchen I highly doubt that Bayer Leverkussen will come and lose quite some of the remaining games after being for more than 40 games unbeaten in both the league and European competitions where they are taking part.Very few games remain and it needs for Bayer Leverkussen to lose quite the majority of them and Bayern Munchen to win all of their game in order to stand a chance, this of course are only theories that we are making and discussing here as in reality Bayer Leverkussen has already won the Bundesliga and they are also looking as a strong contender for the Europa League, looks like this to be the year of Leverkussen after so many years missing in such performances.
There are 6 games left before the Bundesliga ends and the difference between Leverkusen and Bayern is 16 points. So, it is enough for Leverkusen to win in this Sunday's game against Wender Bremen for Leverkusen to become champions because the points difference will be 19 points, and even if Leverkusen lost all 5 remaining games and Bayern won all 6 remaining games , Leverkusen had 79 points while Bayern had 78 points. so as leverkusen's next opponent is very weak, I see leverkusen being champions this Sunday
