Yes, that is quite a surprise. So Leipzig can no longer defend its title. Wolfsburg scored the goal quite early and Leipzig had enough time to score goals themselves after that. But Wolfsburg defended very well and deserved to win. The DFB Cup has its own rules and underdogs win.

Tonight Bayern Munich will play against Saarbrücken. So far it was not sure if they can play because the field in Saarbrücken was soaked from the rain. But the DFB have been given the all clear.

It's quite unfortunate that they were eliminated in this cup, the opponent's goal was scored in the first half but Leipzig didn't manage to equalize even in the 56th minute they had to play with 10 players, it's quite strange that they controlled more than 60% of ball possession but only managed to make 1 attempt whereas Wolfsburg actually had more attempts, this was quite an intense match, we can see how the referee issued quite a lot of cards.

Head to head is good for determining who has been the better team for a certain period of time, but it is weak in giving you information about the status quo. Leaving this aside, I wonder how many head to head statistics there are that suggest that Bayern should not win a game against any of the opponents in the Bundesliga. When Bayern lost a match in early 2023 against Leverkusen, before that they also lost none of the 7 games before that and won 6 of them. It is really no good precursor to draw on for any predictions.

Actually, we cannot predict the result of a match just because we look at the head to head records for these two teams. The head to head records are based on several matches they have played and that also uses last season history.
Meanwhile, each season they have different developments of course, like Leverkusen last season was not better than Bayern Munich so they were easy to beat and this season they are strong enough with capable abilities so they managed to hold a draw against Bayern Munich.
In this situation, will we still believe in assessing or predicting match results just because of head to head records?

Honestly, I would never do that because it could make what is predicted fail and it is better to do research based on the strength or performance of each team in the current season, not based on head to head records.

You should be able to understand that the results of the match are not the benchmark for determining who is the strongest.

Leverkusen, Munich, Stuttgart and Dortmund have all performed very well so far. It seems every team is ready to fight for the title. Dortmund are a bit behind with three draws, but their performance is good enough. But if you want to win the title, there must be consistency in performance. As we have seen in the past seasons in the Bundesliga, even if teams start the season very well, they slowly lose track and their performance starts to deteriorate. Other than Munich, no other team can stay in the title race until the end. However, this season's scenario seems to be slightly different. Leverkusen and Dortmund teams may finally try to win the title. The Bundesliga will be even more competitive this season than last season.

Well with the way the league is going Bayern Munich might find it tough to win the trophy like the previous season which they almost lost to Borussia Dortmund and this season some clubs have improved and i like that because it would make the competition in the league more interesting and not one-sided cause if Bayern Munich keeps winning for decades now then the league could become boring.

Leverkusen are a big treat to Bayern this season cause their winning percentage is becoming interesting and so far them and Leipzig are the only clubs that's given Bayern a very tough time, Dortmund also are not to be left out cause their performance is very good as well and they're also a threat to Bayern Munich winning the league this season however with time we'll know if Leverkusen, Leipzig or Dortmund would stop Bayern from winning the league.

I think Der Klassiker's favorite is Bayern Munich because Dortmund is far from its former power. Still, you never know, they beat Newcastle United away and are open to surprises. It would be bad for Bayern if they lose points in this match. Leverkusen will go away to Hoffenheim. I think they will win that match without any problems.

In last few years as I am watching this Bundesliga I never have any team favorite against Bayern Munich because they are only consistent and well organized team in this league and mostly others are not having available sources to face them consistently but still Dortmund is one of the best team behind Bayern Munich, and they are capable of bringing surprising results as well right now we have three teams which are not having any defeat in this season and things are very interesting with Bayern Munich going to face the toughest teams for the title after years even still mostly are regarding them as favorite, but now we can expect good changes.

Its possible with some luck that they can win that but from the players on the paper Bayern Munich will make it.

I think Der Klassiker's favorite is Bayern Munich because Dortmund is far from its former power. Still, you never know, they beat Newcastle United away and are open to surprises. It would be bad for Bayern if they lose points in this match. Leverkusen will go away to Hoffenheim. I think they will win that match without any problems.
