Bad news has come for Leverkusen because their mainstay striker this season, Victor Boniface, is reportedly injured and will be out for 6 weeks. The player from Nigeria also had to miss AFCON and I think this is a loss experienced by Nigeria and Leverkusen because they have to lose a very important figure in the competition. Victor Boniface has a right muscle-tendon injury and will undergo surgery in the next few days.

It seems that the intensity of the existing competition meant he had to step aside early before AFCON and the Bundesliga at the start of this year. Once again, Victor Boniface is a victim of the national competition he has to play for and previously we knew at Leverkusen he had no injury problems at all. Obviously this will be the biggest loss for Leverkusen because they lost the spearhead of their attack while currently topping the standings.

There is enough time for leverkusen to buy a new striker but it has a backup for boniface. Im not really sure xabi will be feeling panic caused by he must be seeing one of his key player out for weeks. Im not seeing it as a serious problem caused by there were many solutions are available right now.
Xabi is having a lot of solutions to fix this problem. The secondary striker is not that bad to replace him when he will be out for a few weeks. People shall not be feeling panic caused by leverkusen has xabi on its side. He knew that the best for his club.
I trust on xabi and he knew what needs to be done to make sure missing boniface will not be really impacting the performance from the club. It was a bit blow for leverkusen but since injury can't be avoided then what's next?
Leverkusen may be starting to search for the new striker.

Bayer Leverkusen desperately needs Boniface, and I believe this will have an impact on the team's performance because in every match Leverkusen plays, Victor Boniface always makes sure they end the match with a win or a draw. To be honest, I know the team will have someone to replace him, but the person cannot be as good as Boniface, although I believe in Alonso and he will do his best to ensure the team's performance does not change, but still it won't be like before.

Bayern Munich will be happy now because Bayer Leverkusen is the only team that wants to give them a problem of winning the league this season and they will want to use the opportunity of Boniface's absence to top the league table, xabi Alonso should think very well and act in time if not they will find themselves in a position that they did not expect, to be honest it's a bad news to hear about Boniface.

Boniface's absence will be sad for Leverkusen for sure. However I don't think this will create a huge problem for the team. Because it is like everyone is contributing a lot to the team with goals and assists. I mean even Grimaldo has scored lots of goals and made many assists even though his natural position is left-back.

Leverkusen get a lot of contribution from their defenders and midfielders as well this season. Besides there are solid alternatives in their forward position too. Therefore I still expect Leverkusen to stay strong in the attacking line.

This is like what happened to Sadio Mane when he played for Bayern Munich and was injured so he couldn't play for Senegal in the Qatar World Cup, and both of them were quite disadvantaged by what Mane experienced, but the case is a little bit different.
Bayer Leverkusen certainly does not expect this because the club really hopes that he will always be fit to continue to help his team achieve victory in league matches, and when it comes to plays against Leipzig and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga match and the DFB Cup quarter-final against Stuttgart it will be very difficult for Leverkusen without Boniface.
When I heard the news of Victor Boniface injury that'll rule him out for the next six weeks, I felt very bad about it because the Nigeria international was supposed to already in the list of players that'll play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the CAF African Cup Of Nations which will kick off later this month. His injury has ruled him out of the tournament and that news has been a big blow to the national team coach of Nigeria but more disturbing to Xabi Alonso who's the manager of Victor Boniface at Bayer Leverkusen.

Boniface have been absolutely clinical for his club Bayer Leverkusen since the start of the season and his very impressive performances is the reason why the club is still at the top of the German Bundesliga table till date. His temporary absence I think will affect his team's performance in the few games they'll play without him.

Leverkusen is still having patrik schick as the secondary striker and im not seeing it as an important thing. Boniface was injury then what's next? what i can say that if just try to let him recover himself. It will be useless to argue when he will be back and just trust the process.
It's not yet a big lose for leverkusen. Im think that patrik can use this moment to prove his worthiness as a striker as well. This makes the situation becomes even worst and we can only hope that he will able to play good like boniface.

Im not complaining if he was injured caused by this is a non predictable thing. This will make xabi aware how important to have a secondary striker. The club can't always rely upon boniface.
As long as leverkusen has secondary striker then what's the problem? Despite knowing that Boniface was a good player, is it not unfair to deny the secondary striker an opportunity to play, especially considering Boniface's injury?

I think that this is a reasonable solution for this problem.

Victor Boniface is a very important striker of Leverkusen. He scored 16 goals and 7 assists in 16 matches. He played very well. But we must not forget that the Leverkusen team is not dependent on any particular player this season. Victor Boniface scored 16 goals. However, the Leverkusen team is not completely dependent on Victor Boniface. Xabi Alonso is quite an experienced coach. He will surely find a worthy replacement for Victor Boniface. However, I don't think Leverkusen's performance will suffer much if a suitable replacement is not found. I am still optimistic about Leverkusen's consistent performance.

The Bundesliga is really interesting now as the matchday progresses we are seeing that even though Bayern Munich is still the favorite to win even my self I really get some interest in Bayer Leverkusen and how they are doing it, seemingly making Bayern Munich a laughing stock right now, but even though Bayern Munich is not far behind the position 4 points are seemingly impossible because Bayer Leverkusen still doesn't have any losses despite having some Draws it is still better to have Draws than Losses on this situation because right now Bayern Munich now has 1 lost so it is not looking really good for Bayern Munich,
Yeah that's correct because with the way the league is progressing is becoming obvious that the champion will change hand this season because in as much as Bayern Munich points is almost as the Bayern Leverkusen points I don't think there is any possibility of Bayern Munich becoming the first position on the league because for Bayern Leverkusen to have gone this far they will never allow any club including Bayern Munich to stand as a barrier to there chances of becoming the league champion.

Perhaps the league will start getting tougher now because Bayern Munich will be looking for an opportunity for Bayern Leverkusen to loose two matches so that they could bring them down, although at first I was thinking Bayern Munich interest was not really on this league but however I realize that the reason why they have not been able to dominate this league was because of Bayern Leverkusen performance they did not give Bayern Munich any breathing space.

Theoretically, taking into account the fact that if not for the injury, Boniface would have taken part in the African Cup and would still have been absent from Bayer's upcoming games, Xabi should already have some kind of plan. But now the situation has become more complicated since restoration within the specified time frame is not guaranteed.
I'm shocked that Boniface scored 10 goals and are the club's top scorer, but the club's second top scorer is defender Grimaldo (7 goals)  Grin
Maybe he should finally change his position?

It would be nice if the Bundesliga had a new champion at the end of the season, that is the sentence that represents Laverkusen and their chances of winning it. Saying this does not mean underestimating what Tuchel and Bayern Munchen have, because we really understand that Bayern has the attributes to make any team bow before them in the second half of the season. In the end, all contestants will again admit that Bayern dominance has not been broken. Therefore, Xabi must try to continue to develop, collecting point by point, if they want to realize their dreams.

"Neverkusen" is the nickname given to Xabi squad because of their failures in the past, this season there is an opportunity for Xabi to make everyone correct this nickname and must say it eloquently and correctly as "Bayer Leverkusen". Who knows, luck will come to Xabi and his Leverkusen this season, and in the end we will see them become the new champions of the Bundesliga.

I actually want to see a new champion in the Bundesliga. The competition has been so one-sided for a very long time that it has actually become boring. But this season Bayer Leverkusen have actually been able to throw some life back into this competition. Next time it seems like a new champion might be possible. But of course, nothing is certain. Anything can still happen and for Leverkusen to be able to win the Bundesliga title, they will have to be consistent throughout the whole season. I would not even mind if they did not do well in the Europa League competition. I want them to win the Bundesliga title.

maybe you mean the European League.
Xabi has indeed made Leverkusen's performance extraordinary in all competitions. and that is a threat to Munich, which has dominated the Bundesliga for several seasons.
It wasn't easy for Xabi to beat Munich's dominance, but now they are proving that they can do it. they don't rely on luck, they do it because of the tactics and hard work of everyone on the team.
What Xabi Alonso has proven is a quite extraordinary fact because from the current ranking position it is also quite clear that Bayer Leverkusen is indeed capable of performing better and is very impressive this season by winning more matches. However, Bayer Leverkusen still has to be wary of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga because there is still enough time for their closest rival to take first place. But for the Europa League, I think there will also be more tense competition because there are several teams from England and Italy which could be an obstacle for Bayer Leverkusen in fighting for the trophy.
there is no easy competition for trophies. and it is a challenge for Xabi to make his team not only achieve improved performance but also achieve trophy targets.
If Leverkusen hasn't left Munich with a promising point difference, they certainly won't be able to calm down. they will learn from Dortmund's experience last season.
while in the European League, of course, Xabi has to think hard enough to make the right strategy to beat their strong competitors like Liverpool or Milan who might qualify for the next round.

Victor Boniface is Leverkusen top scorer in Bundesliga and Xabi always be rely on him for each matches so losing him is a big loss because Leverkusen will facing tight schedules because in Bundesliga this month after fight against Augsburg Leverkusen will facing tough team Leipzig and next month Leverkusen also has hard match at DFB pokal quarterfinal against Stuttgart this situation isn't too favourable for them but Leverkusen consistency will be tested whether they can able to managed their performance without Boniface or not

If i am not mistaken so far Leverkusen has 4 players for their front lines and after Boniface got injured Xabi Alonso does not have many options to play players in that position and so far Leverkusen has Patrik Schick or Jonas Hofmann who can be played as the replacement of Boniface but maybe Xabi can maximize the potential of Patrik Schick skill because since return from long term injured Schick has been showing impressive performance because in the last 5 matches Schick can able to scores 3 goals but indeed those players which i mentioned above still can't play as expected

Last season Bayern Munich was lucky because Dortmund didnt win the trophy. But luck always don't remain on one side. Leverkusen with Xabi Alonso goals and their good performance looks like a strong team that could win both the Bundesliga and the Champions League this season.
If you think last season's Bayern Munich were lucky to get the bundesliga title because they were only lucky when Dortmund failed to get the title last season, then what about Bayern Munich who have dominated the bundesliga for a decade? Is this also about luck?
you can see how Munich has been winning successive titles in the bundesliga for several seasons or even more than a decade and not a single team has been able to break Munich dominance, even Dortmund has done it several times, but the fact is that failure cannot break Munich dominance and we all know the reason why Munich always can get the bundesliga title because Munich has enormous wealth, they often buy high quality players and these players are often bought from rival team Dortmund.

and this time it was Leverkusen who tried to break Munich dominance and I admit that Leverkusen performance was great without being defeated but who knows if at the end of the season they fail like Dortmund? Is this Bayern Munich luck because Leverkusen failed to reach the top of the bundesliga?
I say this because the depth of the players compared to the two teams is very different, even Bayern Munich players as a whole are very high quality, but I don't underestimate Leverkusen.
I really understand the efforts that Leverkusen is making to win the Bundesliga and European league titles, but we'll see if Leverkusen is able to maintain its consistency.

The Bayer Leverkusen squad has not yet proven itself sufficient to become champions of the German Bundesliga. While they are competitive, it may still be challenging to become champions. The team's roster is not as formidable as that of Bayern Munich. Additionally, Bayern Munich's coach, Thomas Tuchel, is a highly skilled manager, making it difficult for Bayer Leverkusen to overtake Bayern Munich as the league champions.
This will probably be seen when the League enters the final stages of the season, because currently Bayer Leverkusen are still quite good at providing resistance to every team they face in the Bundesliga. Even though Thomas Tuchel will continue to give his best for the Bayern Munich team until the end of the season in order to prevent Bayer Leverkusen from becoming champions in the Bundesliga, the focus of the two teams this season is not only about the Bundesliga, but both are also thinking about other competitions such as the Europa League and Champions League for them to win this season.

This news is a heavy blow for the Leverkusen club which is currently competing for the Bundesliga title, because this players is a very important player that Leverkusen has, the absence of this player will definitely have a big impact on the clubs performance, but I hope this news does not dampen the mentality of Leverkusen and the club can accept this news as a lesson so that the club can prepare a new strategy and fill the striker's void. I'm sure Xabi Alonso has thought this through carefully if one day his mainstay player suffers an injury.

No one wants their mainstay player to get injured but this is football, therefore the coach must be able to rack his brains so that his club doesn't experience a decline in performance and we will see Xabi Alonso after his mainstay striker is absent. Whether Xabi Alonso can still maintain Leverkusen good performance in the upcoming match without the striker. Next month, Leverkusen will have to face Bayern Munich, who are their arch rivals. If Leverkusen remains consistent, I think we should give great appreciation to this coach.

I stand with Palestine.
I don't see this as a coincidence but how Leverkusen can maximize the quality of the players they have. So far Leverkusen's performance is still quite consistent and they are increasingly confident of finishing the season as champions. Bayern Munich will definitely try to play more pressingly when they face each other because if not then waiting for Leverkusen to be beaten by another team will be much more difficult.

Last season Bayern Munich was still quite lucky where Dortmund wasted the opportunity to lift the trophy and this time they can't expect any more luck. Xabi Alonso has big ambitions with Leverkusen and he is targeting winning the Bundesliga and Champions League this season.
You are right Leverkusen has done a good job of making their players play their best. They have been playing well all season and it shows that they have a good team and plan. It is impressive to see how confident they are in winning the season.
I also agree that Bayern Munich will try to play harder when they face Leverkusen. Bayern Munich is a good team and they will never underestimate their opponents. Leverkusen has been doing well which makes it tough for other teams to win against them. So Bayern Munich will have to play better.

This season's Bundesliga has indeed given a new color with the presence of Bayern Leverkusen, who have appeared very impressive since the start of the season until now, and have not even been defeated. And it is true that Leverkusen did not lose against Dortmund and Bayer Munich. I don't think it's a coincidence that Xabi Alanso's squad this season is really strong and full of confidence, I don't think anything can stop them from winning the Bundeliga title this season.

Even though later in the second half of the season they meet each other again, I'm sure they won't be able to beat Bayern Leverkusen. I predict that this season Bayern Leverkusen can win the Bundesliga and Europa League titles. Because he deserves it, Xabi Alonso has done an extraordinary job because he has succeeded in developing the talents of his players into one unit, especially since Bayer Leverkusen has many world-class players such as Wirtz, Grimaldo, Frimpong, Boniface, Hoffman and Tah.
