It's pathetic and that's why I would recommend a psychologist for any potential gambler because when you eventually lose more than you can handle then you should know that's the dead end and if care isn't taken you'll become an addict.
A professional psychiatrist / psychologist needs to help gamblers that are in such serious situation like this one. There are some saying that it won't help and it will depend to the gambler but with such guides from these people will help you to give up gambling easily also don't forget your family will play a big role for it.
Quitting from gambling is definitely not easy. If someone is really determine to quit from it, it should come from both sides, the people that advices/guides you to quit from gambling and yourself that really want to escape from addiction. That way you will slowly get out of addiction from gambling and start a new chapter of your life.
Of course you should do the initiative and you need to have the willingness to quit gambling. If you are not that willing then what's the sense of quitting if you are not willing. Also you need to find some more interesting thing that will catch your attention so that you can have some time for relaxation to yourself and forget gambling a little by little.
I think that the best way to quit gambling is to realize that you are an addict and then to sick for help.
If you ask a professional help they could help you much better then u could help yourself.
We really can't quit gambling alone we need to accept the fact that we can't do it by ourselves. Seeking help with others is just a normal and it shouldn't be a thing to be ashamed of. Because if you are desperate to quit gambling you will do something for it, whether it will come from professional, friends or family.
