Please consider helping a brother out:

https://www.cryptsy.com/users/register?refid=5119

If you already have a cryptsy account you can put this in your referral spot and it will help out a lot!

I think japool is having some issues. It's easy enough to solo mine with the current difficulty though so I would suggest that if you're experiencing the same.

Instructions for solo mining.

Download the wallet (make sure it's the latest version from the first post down the bottom)

Run globalcoin-qt.exe and allow it to download the blockchain.

Once download is complete exit the wallet (file exit don't just close).

Navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Globalcoin

Right click and create new text document and then paste the following inside:

Code:
rpcuser=USERNAME
rpcpassword=PASSWORD
rpcallowip=localhost
rpcport=55788
port=55789
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
maxconnections=100
addnode=162.243.239.107
addnode=162.243.106.159
addnode=162.243.104.134
addnode=162.243.231.130

Next go to file save as and select type all files and save the file as globalcoin.conf

Now open the globalcoin wallet (globalcoin-qt.exe) and you should be able to point your miner to it:

Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://localhost:55788 -u USERNAME -p PASSWORD

good timing to, the difficultly just dropped so the coins a be flowing for next few hours before difficulty spikes.

This makes mining spotty on GLC.  This is to be fixed January 11th, approximate.

Have fun!

You get a portion of the block reward that is equal to your mining work done during that block round.  If you have 50% of the hash power on that pool, when the pool finds the block, you get 50% of the block reward sent directly to the client.

PLEASE NOTE.  Do note use Cryptsy address or any other exchange address as your mining address.  it must be to the client or you will never see the mining reward.

Good luck and have fun!
Ok I understand everything right now, thank you, ciao! Smiley

Thank you for answer but which pool, I first post I see that:
http://www.japool.com:55786/static/

But it hasnt any instructions and sign up fields.

There's no signup needed it's P2Pool, you use your GLC Address as the username.

Open up notepad and paste the following:

Code:
minerd -o stratum+tcp://japool.com:55786 -u YourGLCWalletAddress -p AnyPassword

Now go file save as then choose save as type: All Files (*.*)

Save the filename as startmining.bat

Make sure it's saved in the same folder as minerd.exe then just run startmining.bat to mine!

Thank you,
I bought some today, the rest I will mine.
From which amount the payment is send?

Is it possible and effective to mine this coin with i7 processor?

You can try Poolers CPU miner from https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/an-even-more-optimized-version-of-cpuminer-poolers-cpuminer-cpu-only-55038

Using a GPU would of-course be more effective but you'll still get a few hundred coins per day at the current difficulty.

Seems interest is building lately and it's profitable to mine at the moment with the price rising sharply on crypsty.

The changes to the network should happen on ~ January 11th, so lets keep our eye on the prize.  There will be a change in diff re-target which will help out with diff flactuation and the total number of coins to be placed into circulation is dropping from 180 million to 70 million.  In addition, the time it takes the subsidy to halve is cut by about 2/3rds.

Solid changes so continue to mine and to accumulate in my opinion

The info at the top of this thread should be updated.

With a little work put into it I'm hopeful GLC will rise in value...

@SistaFista can you please update the first post to reflect the current state of the coin? i.e the revised number of coins, current client version and new domain name as to not confuse potential new adopters.

I think Globalcoin has promise and just needs a little more attention Smiley

Seriously!  Nodes man nodes!  We need lots of nodes.
This is one of the best coins out there and it is way undervalued.  More nodes for stability will send the value of this coin up where it should be.  Other than that the week long diff dips need to be addressed.  For a while I think I was the only one mining it to push it out of a hole.
