I agree that this guy is a very controversial figure in politics but his anti-bank stance has caught me ever since. I've never follow his twitter to be honest, but I was surprised to him mentioned bitcoin that's why I posted it here and maybe someone in the UK can recognized this guy. And him mentioning bitcoin already caught our attention so I would say he is on the bandwagon wagon regardless of his political views or stance. PR stunt? maybe, but this is good PR for bitcoin as well.

You can only proclaim that mass adoption is coming when you have the numbers to back that up, not a few small celebrities saying that they bough a bit of Bitcoin on twitter.
For these celebrities it is a publicity stunt if they claim that they purchase cryptocurrency, they will feature in many news websites and it is highly possible that they will be trending and that is what they are looking for and a social media trend means he will be getting business in his field and it is the best way to get popular on a global scale without spending much money on PR  Cheesy.

When successful boomers like him start to buy bitcoin you know mainstream adoption is coming. More & more people are starting to open their eyes to the scam of fiat currencies & normal banking.

Bitcoin is coming!

Meh there has been always people who are very skeptical of the banking system, often these are goldbugs, and this is just one of them. There is no mass adoption, or some wave of adoption by boomers, it's just one guy who isn't hostile towards Bitcoin, because actually many goldbugs don't like Bitcoin, as they think it's a competition to their beloved gold. You can only proclaim that mass adoption is coming when you have the numbers to back that up, not a few small celebrities saying that they bough a bit of Bitcoin on twitter.

I totally love the courage Godfrey had to publicly make announce about his Bitcoin investment and he also willing to learn more about Bitcoin despite his age.

Welp. Didn't know this thread already existed. But anyway, I suggest you guys check this out if you didn't know who Godfrey Bloom was before his bitcoin tweets:

I'm not surprised he created this kind of video about the scam level of the banking system and Central Banks because Godfrey's professional career was a financial economist and every genuine financial economist will easily understand the scam activities or problem done/caused by the banking system and central banks.

I'm not surprise that such celebrity isn't aware of the use of bitcoin, its a matter and challenge the old are facing now, even the old professor in my university is finding hard to understand the basic idea about bitcoin.
I just hope he could get a helper that would teach him more about wallet private policy, as its the vital teaching that needs to be cleared.
Also, he is a popular influencer and are followed by many, so invariably, his interest in crypto industry would definitely change his followers to do he same, if inky he airbit out on a regular basis. This is really showing the growth of bitcoin.

I think that the crypto sphere will be an opening for him and he will continue to invest in crypto further.

Not unless he get a bad advise and turn his bitcoin investment into nothing. I do hope that those who are going to DM him will not troll, but instead put him in the right path on bitcoin. He is more of a precious metal guy, but he has nothing to lose here, he is anti-bank, so obviously, with bitcoin's censorship resistance, its more fitting to his ideology.

Simply, if he is one of the influencers and he has many followers, it may give influences that they may be interested in cryptocurrency. but vice versa, it may also influence nothing to the followers. In this case, every popular person that bought crypto may be able to be one of the ways to increase or improve the existence of crypto itself. But of course, newcomers must not only involved in crypto because of the popular person. It needs its own research on it in order not to blame somebody if they get loses in crypto.
And here, I appreciate what he did, moreover, he is no longer young, but he concerns in this such crypto. Well, yeah, but it is probably he is an anti-bank person.

It's so satisfying when you see an old and successful guy turn to Bitcoin. People like that are usually living off their retirements and if they invest it's into something very safe and boring.

I believe his Bitcoin move is more of a PR stunt than a real investment since he admits that he doesn't know much about it and treats it like an addition to his gold and silver.

He is still in learning process about crypto currencies but I love his action as he start purchasing bitcoin as a way of showing a support of crypto currencies even
if he is already 70 years old.

If someone can guide him then it will be better as he a well known person in British and he can surely help in spreading the good news of crypto if in case he will see
that crypto can really help people to profit if it can be use wisely.

Bitcoin is coming!

So far he is unfortunately still the exception of the Boomer generation. There are comparatively few of this generation which go offensively with the fact to the public that they bought Bitcoin. When I read the title of his book (and he himself believes in the collapse of the banking system), his Bitcoin purchase is a logical step.

Not a fan of the guy at all.  Just because he might be right on the anti-bank stuff, don't take that to mean any of his other views belong in this century.  The man is a chauvinist and a bigot.  An absolute relic of days long since gone.

Well, these kind of news surely have an impact over the markets. Glad to see one more influential guy joining the Bitcoin community. I'd have to guess a quite hign number of people are against banks but just don't know that Bitcoin is their perfect solution yet. As always, we're growing steadily - slowly, but the healthy way.
Yes,  I guess it's not too late for other influential person to join bitcoin and enjoy it. Perhaps he really see the advantages of it in the long run and he will still the same person regardless if some people are going to criticized him for getting into bitcoin. And we like it that way, no need to shill bitcoin to them, they have to discover for themselves and then instant recognition and he could also influence some of his followers to join, win-win for us.

I thought old dogs do not like to learn new tricks. This man has like the new technology which is bitcoin. We cannot deny the fact that bitcoin is really a unique form of digital currency that can be exchange to other currencies as well, can be use as a payment option in online or purchasing products and using it to pay services. Others are considering bitcoin as an investment where they take advantage on its market price volatility. This is very useful having bitcoin than depositing your money in the banks that could let you earn small interest like usually having 1-2% of interest only annually yet they make abuse of your money by lending it to others and get high interest like to almost 20% or more.

Banks services maybe useful and also good for online transaction but bitcoin is better than banks because it is a p2p without third party involve and you have the hold of your funds yourself in your wallet. The risk is upon the user on how he stored his BTC and I do believe that misconception in regards to bitcoin scam etc. will be prove by bitcoin that it isn't and bitcoin well be doing well in the future.

Never knew him but looks like he has also published other books that seems against to the banks.

Shame on that woman or guy that said that people would choose to have dollars than bitcoin. It's even down and why would he have said that, he can simply shut his/her mouth from comparing to choose bitcoin and us dollars.

How funny people like him discourages people to purchase bitcoin.

Well, It is not surely late for Old bloomers to learn and especially I think he is a fast learner when it comes to the trading market because he already have a share of precious metals, but I think it may somehow make a commotion but not that kind of a big impression to to the public, but in the end this is a start for Bitcoin to make a progress again, eventually if he will allocate his precious metals to just Bitcoin, but let's just wait in due time.

The 70 y.o. economist wrote a book called The Magic of Banking: The Coming Collapse. Later he bought some Bitcoin. These are the signs of upcoming collapse.

We can really expect Bitcoin to boom and go to the moon now! If even Godfrey Bloom buys his first bitcoin the road to adoption is clearly paved.
/s  Grin Jokes aside, the guy is on the hard side of money with Bitcoin, Gold, and Silver. I believe, the BTC/Gold pair, today, is a good hedge against this crazy economic times.

https://twitter.com/goddersbloom/status/1311631887513923585

For all those who are not familiar with him, he is the author of The Magic Of Banking: The Coming Collapse.

And this is his wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godfrey_Bloom

Maybe one of you guys can DM this old fart and teach him all about crypto,  Cheesy

It’s great to see guys like him starting to recognize Bitcoin as a worthy asset. Despite the price today, at least he purchased some. I just hope that he would think Bitcoin a long-term investment and not just trying to sell it quickly.

It’ll take one step at a time until another popular figure with decent number of followers would announce that they have purchases Bitcoin, Ethereum or any other cryptocurrencies out there.
