The "gold" part of the name will surely bring a revival for this old coin, I almost forgot about it after the Big Vern facts.

I like the ideas that are associated with gold. Gold is really the thing that makes a person worry. The idea of digital gold is not new of course, but it requires attention. And the fact that the project is developing rapidly, it means the team is working. And I hope with time it will give good results.
In fact over the years many blockchain development around the gold project, after all, gold is hard currency, is any country is admitted, but cryptocurrency is the future of the relative to gold, many countries are looking for a can effective circulation and gold with monetary attribute substitutes, after all, the transportation of gold is very difficult.

I have an old GoldCoin wallet I extracted from my android and decrypted. Key starts with Q. How can I check the balance of this coin? I am 100% sure it is a GoldCoin wallet. From September 2013. I am certain it is decrypted.

i saw this comment about the android wallet, are you guys aware the Gold-QT-10.12.Dmg has an error and doesn't function ?
* third download attempt in the last couple weeks ; no problem joining your other forum but most everything typically handled on bitcointalk
. any help here would be greatly appreciated

This error indicates that the blockchain database files are corrupted. You will need to delete them (~/Library/Application Support/Goldcoin (GLD)/blkindex.dat and blk*.dat) but DO NOT delete wallet.dat and the client can download the blockchain again once you started it up again.

I was a very early adopter and supporter among the french speaking community till I lost a bit more than 50.000 GLD with Cryptsy!!

Thanks, I solved it by installing the android wallet and loading the backup. The key was compressed. https://www.goldcoinwallet.com/ does NOT support using the compressed key, whereas other bitaddress clones do.

Besides, Poloniex never reveals the coins they're thinking of adding. Once they've decided to add Goldcoin, the news will come straight from them.

Many traders use trading bots. Richie and the rest of Bittrex staff are fully aware of that.
