cool so it wasn't just me  Smiley

also installing the new client writes over the conf (so if you have ur own personal list of nodes just best to make a backup).

It was not just you.  Wink

Kelsey, I really appreciate your support and look forward to the possibility of working together in the future. Thanks for putting up with me for so long.

well we've no always seen eye to eye, so been in the mix of a battle or 10, guess alot of thats due to being around in the wild west days of cryptocurrency  Wink

however you've stuck it out this long, and always strongly supported goldcoin since you came across it, so you deserve some respect for that;

and truth be told if the client progresses to a level near the aim, well goldcoin could become a leading cryptocurrency.

Last night, I received multiple reports that clients were out of sync due to slow block times, so I was forced to add additional hashpower. But we're asking for your help in keeping the chain moving so we can reach the Golden River fork.

You can rent a rig here: https://www.betarigs.com/

I'm using the following pool: https://hash-to-coins.com/

Currently, I have 500 MH/s added to the Goldcoin network. That is paid up until tomorrow night. Ideally, we need around 1 GH/s to power through to the fork. If you've been thinking of ways to help, this is an excellent chance to assist your community.

---
Estimated time until we reach the fork: 6 days
---

I'll update this thread daily as the situation develops.

thanks for the clear reply.

I am having alot of sync problems with the latest update, anyone else having this?

This is a fresh reply from Akumaburn in regards to the new client. He's indicating here that there's no difference in the two versions until the fork at 253000.

..

EDIT: It looks like the network hashrate dropped which slowed the blockchain. I'm going to add some hashpower now to get us to the fork.

Thanks.

another client update?

whens the actual all new client update coming?

Akumaburn pulled off the new java client to address critical issues with the difficulty adjustment. It was decided that since the new "Golden River" code could be easily integrated into the new client (non-critical), that we should release this legacy patch first to improve network function (critical).

This has delayed the new java client to a degree. But now that Goldcoin River has been released, Akumaburn can get back to wrapping up the new client.

The Goldcoin Developers have just released a mandatory client update.

This patch introduces our new difficulty algorithm called "Golden River". Golden River is an innovative difficulty adjustment that rapidly adjusts to fluctuations in hashing power. You must update your client before block 253000 in order to remain compatible with the network.

Please update now! http://www.gldcoin.com/get-started/

Are there any active GoldCoin faucets?

Not to my knowledge, but if someone would like to build one we will gladly advertise it in the community and the official website. Smiley
https://cryptospout.com/ would be a good place to get peoples awareness up about GoldCoin, and get some distributed.
