Hey all you guys that say you havent got your IPO or whatever reason you have for needing to talk to CEO, why don't you just hop on IRC? GPUC is usually signed in there....

on another note, have you guys read the stuff about cryptsy's bug that allows for price manipulation? I saw it on reddit and I'm not sure if it's just doge or what but it sounds like they know about it and are trying to cover it up rather than fix it so I think cryptsy is a bad idea. If they really are playing games and on their way to being gox for doge then it's just a matter of time before they are done. Atomic is a good exchange, just needs more volume but it's there if you want to buy some cheap GPUC.

All exchanges are technically a bad idea. There are no laws or regulating authorities for these exchanges. There are no audits. There is no transparency. There are no rules stating they have to let customer's know of security breaches, bugs, or exploits. They could scam every single last person out of every single bitcoin they can, close up shop, and walk away and there would be nothing anyone can do about it. There are a million and one ways exchanges can scam you an you wouldn't even realize it until it was far too late.

Treat every third party wallet with caution. Keep only what you need there, and withdraw everything you don't. And for $DIETY's sake don't put any private information on these sites, especially given the terrible track record these sites seem to have in regards to security (not that there are any laws that require them to be secure). They want you to upload a photo ID, bank statement, and a bill to your current address? Tell ya what, just tell me your name and I'll see if I can low-ball the price for your identity on cheapamericanids.ru for ya.

Spread hashrate, go for p2pool!! Now with Bittrex price displayed Smiley
Only 0.5% Fee

P2Pool benefits:

* No registration required
* Distributed hashrate
* Immediate payouts after a block is found
* Higher payouts with transaction fees paid to miners
* No account hack possible

Address: p2phash.com:9404
Start mining within seconds! Just point your miner to p2phash.com:9404 and use the GPUcoin address from your wallet for username, the password doesn't matter.

I've mined there from almost the start, it's a very good pool!

Thanks for your feedback Smiley

Ye Atomic-Trade is a really good exchange I'm not sure why more people don't use it.

Byronp the owner seems like a decent guy from what I can tell and is really up on security on the site.

Going off what I read in the troll box yesterday he also covers at least half of the online BTC with his own personal coins incase of anything going wrong.

From checking out atomic-trade, I see several annoyances. The password policy of needing symbol, uppercase, lowercase and digit. Giving an unhelpful error message on password reset for pw that don't meet that criteria. Not giving an error message at all when you try to change it after logging in. It also looks like the minimum withdrawal is 1.0 btc!? which is just plain ridiculous.

I'm not sure what your complaint is here apart from you maybe had to input a password twice. The site makes sure that you have a random, very hard to brute force password surely this is a good thing?

Minimum withdrawal is 0.005 BTC where are you getting 1 BTC from?

Sent you 600 a while ago. Did they arrive?

dont know if you meant me or SP4RK7 but
for me nope and in that case don't worry.
the thought is what counts Smiley

Really like how this community is starting to roll from
"HEY all its a bloody shitcoin, haven't gotten millions yet"
into a community really trying to promote the coin.
I've got a good feeling about this.

the problem with the formerly suggested and modified

idea

It would be neat for pools to be able offer a discount code or coupons to miners who who stick with them or find blocks.

GPUCoin would have to issue these discounts to the pool owners to hand out as rewards but it seems doable.

would probably be that there is nothing to prevent the pools from taking it for themselves
though pools usually run on trust and experience though not completely. Granting something
to the miners that'd be fair and not easily sold is probably too complex and difficult if possible
to do.

Another small idea. How bout rewarding returning shoppers at the shop. Nothing much
since the goal is to have the price as low as possible and it shouldn't leave a lot of space
and it shouldn't come from the gpuc staffs pocket. But enough that it didn't only pay off
but actually would payoff more the next time and then people would possibly come again.
Bulk offers might give the same experience where friends group up and therefor the coin
has been promoted to their friends. Even if they weren't interested before they'll definitely
be interested after that experience. Im just trying to fill the floor with ideas. If any of those
were to stand out and seem like/would work I'll gladly post them on the gpucforum Smiley

SP4RKS : We definitely have funds (both USD and GPU Coin) set aside for marketing.  I think an intro video is a great idea.  Obviously people have been asking to spend it on getting on exchanges.  If there is any other ideas lets hear them....maybe we can start working on them next week.

DougB62 : awesome job.  Post your address, I want to give you a tip!
Well, while I think that it's completely unnecessary, I will humbly accept.  Grin (As my mining equipment is sincerely lacking.)
Thank you! GXMtqgG66vLZJ386Abc15pEMhnBHwDvLBS

i feel you on that. my daily computer is what i mine on. i've got a single 7950 and using that + my cpu to try and get as much gpucoin as i can.
just made a deal with a guy for a graphics card last week and after payment never got a tracking number.. feel like gpucoin is about the only thing that can save me at this point.

Can anyone answer when and how much the block reward goes down?

If you check back a couple of pages I think someone posted it unless I'm getting confused with another thread.

Off the top of my head I think it was 450 days and the block reward halves

it would be awesome if the market would land gpuc/btc so 280x would cost 280.000 gpuc.

But on the main subject I believe that a marketing video could really get things going. If
it looks very professional people will see it and one of the seas of ideas to increase value
is to show people that the creators and their team is professional and believe in their idea.

Whether they are professional (which I do believe they are btw) is beside the point. What
matters is general opinion of the coin. You have to interest them, appeal to them and
make them believe it has a future. If you interest enough people the rest will get interested
due to the amount of people interested--chainreaction--.

Getting a video viral, some articles and maybe some people to talk openly about the coin
on youtube or somewhere though it will happen as soon as people start picking up interest.

Maybe even get a reddit page up (if it isn't)  for a bit of buzz. Might be a bit early but it
happened with auroracoin and here back in Iceland people didn't really have any believe in
it and of course considered it a scam. However some random guy started buying pizzas
and delivering them to houses for 4 auroracoins which was like 36 dollars back then and
a lot of people actually caved in and went mining for the sole purpose of getting a "free"
pizza. (That guy must be pretty happy now btw) But it managed in that small way to
get a bit of buzz and get people going. The store is of course going to be the main buzz
here but wasn't the idea of having it open 2 weeks later so that the market will settle down
before it gets up and running. At the moment the opposite is more likely to happen. At
the moment no one is buying and too many are selling but as soon as the store goes
viral everything will get crazy.

I believe we (yes we.. devs, creators and the community) need to get the value a bit up
before the store launches. And the way to go is videos, articles, getting people to realize
that now is the time to buy because the coin will get more expensive as the store launches.
The coin needs to be more profitable then electricity but more importantly people have to
believe it will because it won't happen any other way. Better yet miners would need to get
some sort of deal (sounds impossible though) to keep everyone from mining more profitable
coins and exchanging over when they have enough for a gpu. Though in theory it sounds
like a good thing you have to remember that a coin needs both its traders and its miners
to work properly.

The funny thing is that a part of me doesn't want the coin to get its value up right away.
I'd just be back to getting less then a 1k gpuc per day with my "fantastic" mining setup.
A little bit of a desperate plea (addresS: GSDyivZQWgRouL9eVSKjU9KRKFWQwtajq2) Grin
If it keeps moving this way and the price goes up I'd get a lot more gpus then in the
other case though it'd be healthier for the coin.

Just had a little idea, might be good, might be bad or even terrible but here it goes.
What if every 5000th block or whatever the miner who found the block would maybe
win a gpu or discount or something that he maybe couldn't trade in exchanges but
would make him bloody happy anyway. I'm assuming that even though people are
assigned to pools it gets written down who gets each block but I don't really know
exactly the program works so this is probably not a doable idea but wanted to share
it anyway. Hopefully I'm being more helpful then a wall of pointless text Roll Eyes

I like the idea of a giveaway for for a certain block found although may be hard to prove identity if mined on a pool.

Could maybe have it so that who ever guesses or closest to the correct price in GPUC that the first Graphics card sells for wins the same card?

This could be sent out on twitter and hopefully people retweeting would again generate interest.

Who on th is earth votes for these crappy coins. No offence. but emu..

My mistake it's actually EMO I've never heard of it to be honest.

I think what happens is the same that needs to happen here, get everyone voting as often as possible and then the Devs/CEO chuck a couple of BTC at it to give it a good boost up.
