So what if you don't collect enough BTC to buy the hardware to resell?

never trust IPO Angry

Is there something about the IPO that you feel uneasy about?  Do you have any questions regarding the business plan or long term viability?
Take a look at the stackcoin fiasco

I did.  They offered an IPO for a coin and gave no explanation or reasoning other than wanting to line their own pockets with BTC prior to launch, and wanted to remain completely anonymous during the whole process.  People bought in thinking they would make money, which I personally did with Reddcoin, and it just happens that Stack released some virus from an unknown Dev.

Please feel free to take a look at this post, it's too long and will clutter this thread.

My Opinion : I'm not going to invest in stackcoin, because i believe IPO's are for real 2nd generation coins. I talked to the devs on IRC and messaged them and there was no lack of hesitation or time between messages. Very firm and solid response time. If this is coin is to be a success then they are on the right track. But i'd like to note, REDDCOIN did the same sort of IPO and yet it hasn't taken off as expected. Anyways time will tell, the coin has my support for now.

Our developer (Hazard) is a well respected part of the crypto community and runs cryptolife.net which just loves to point out scams, not to mention we have outlaid in our opening post exactly what the IPO money is going into and how it will turn a profit.  The best part is, the face/name/business license of the CEO is public domain.  There is complete transparency.

So, we would ask that you not clutter up this thread with references to any number of scam coins, and if you have a legitimate question about GPU Coin please feel free to ask.

Why just sell GPUs, why not CPUs, motherboards and PSUs?

This will be an eventuality, but we need to focus on only one aspect in the beginning.  We are also in development of a modular 6 GPU rack made of aluminum so people don't have to make egg crate rigs any more.  For the grand opening, just GPUs.

If you didn't see it in the original post

Free GPU Givaway:
Any IPO investor that has invested the minimum investment of 0.01 BTC, by the date of Friday the 28th of March, will be automatically entered in a drawing for a FREE ASUS R9 280X graphics processing unit.  We will be doing a live stream of all the IPO numbers being shuffled and will pick randomly out of a clear bowl.  The IPO investor will then be contacted by e-mail for their mailing address.

Hello. Do you mean by Friday the 28th of February? since the IPO ends on March 1st?

Yes.  Thanks for catching that.

Hey DEV! Don't you want to do something to prove, that you will not steal coins, like scamstackcoin dev did?

We paid paid our Dev (Hazard on the forums, person who runs CryptoLife.net) and have an image in previous posts of the client running.  We also stand to make more long term sales profits than any amount of IPO.  Our IPO is actually going to be used to purchase GPUs from our distributor, not to mention we have an LLC in the state of Virginia which is public records and you could easily look up our business address.

My picture (CEO) is public and so is my name, both available on gpucoin.net.  I see no reason why I would "scam" any sort of money and put myself at risk.

If you have any real questions I can answer, not just "how not scam", I would be happy to answer.

Is the developer still involved with the coin? If not how do you plan to solve any problems as and when they arise?

The developer is on call at all times.  If any issues arise he will be taking care of them, for a nominal fee, which will come out of my pocket directly just as the initial development costs did.

It's not truly a GPU  coin if it is scrypt only.

We named the coin due to the fact that you will be able to purchase GPUs directly with the coin.

ok waiting to see how many GPU'S  I can buy with this coin.

Hopefully we will have hundreds, but it seems that all the scam coins are putting people on edge about investing.  No matter what amount we can carry, we will keep re-investing the funds made into new stock.

dont invest for every IPO scheme ... they just stolen your fund for buy their scam coins ...

i lost today 2 BTC for invest in fucking IPO for  STACK COIN  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annstack-stackcoin-get-in-now-fast-decrease-launch-22022014-457575 .... BE AWARE ....

While I can understand your frustration over making a bad investment, not all coins are the same.  I would greatly appreciate it if you wouldn't go around blindly stating that every alt-coin is a scam.  I already answered to this same worry before.

We will make profit from every single GPU sale, even at our relatively low pricing, since we have distributor pricing. It is in our best interest to keep the coin alive and make long term sales profits.  After contacting several manufacturers we have found that we can only buy directly from them once we turn a certain amount of sales per month.  Once we hit that point we can drop our prices even further to hopefully MSRP, but they refused to tell us their pricing so no promises, cutting out all the middle men entirely to save the customers even more money.
