So, I've been invited, so I had the opportunity to play around a little.

I like the design, really great job.

The site is a little empty right now. The concept is really interesting, but right now, it feels like one big step for not much. But don't take it bad, I've done web software development before, and I know how it is "behind the scenes". A shitload of work that people never perceive. Wink

I've set up my test worker to use gpumax, to try it. I mine on ABCPool right now, and it works, but ABCPool took a looooong time to indicate that my miner was active. I was convinced that it was not working at first, but after a good 5 or 6 minutes of waiting, ABC showed my GPUMAX worker active. Usually, it takes less than 30 seconds for ABC to show my working miner. Maybe write a message or something to say that it can take a while before it updates its infos correctly?

In the current interface, it seems that a miner must be linked to a pool, but it cannot be linked to more than one pool for failover or load balancing. Is this also something that will be improved in the public release?

Yep fail-over is on the list.
One other request, if I may - the usernames are cumbersome, will there be a way to change these?

For the site, maybe... for the workers never.  Sorry Sad
Ah well. The only reason I asked is because I am currently using a KVM (with no clipboard) to manage my miners. I really just need to get around to installing *nix and using SSH.

This sounds like a great idea, but I'm wondering how "hands on" it will be for miners.  Will there be some kind of option to set a %, for example, set the PPS amount you're willing to accept as (whatever pool) current rate +10%?  I'd hesitate to use the service if I had to keep track of what the going PPS rate was and adjust after every difficulty change.

Update:

I've had a lot of questions about when the purchasing side will be enabled and wanted to update everyone.

We're going to enable purchasing by the weekend.  The payment process is going to be manually done until we work out the workflow, so bare with us.  I will also be sending out an email as soon as we have it enabled.

Thanks for all the feedback and support guys, it's very appreciated.

i think i wasn't clear enough, lol.

i want to purchase shares to hop for me. i assume it's not gonna be available for awhile, but on your first post it's on the trusted list for buyers.

Yes, we're working on a way to identify a "legit" pool from a "malicious" one but it's not ready yet.  We should have something ready by the time the site is public.

As I solo merge mine, will i be able to point miners to my ip address, when i buy shares? (I can show proof that it is my ip by upping sth to the webserver for example)

No, we are only allowing Trusted pools to be listed for purchasing shares.  The list is growing and all of the pools are being verified.
how can you verify bithopper servers/ip address?

if i want to use the service to hop for me, i have to point it to my server, which may or may not be trusted by gpumax.

I assume individuals will be allowed to get their hopping pools verified?

As a miner you can point your worker(s) on the site anywhere you want.  For public work, those purchasing shares on the site will have a drop down of the approved pools they can point to.

Good, we are updating the site to correct a bunch of things in the next couple minutes and once everything looks good we will bring on the next wave of users on the waiting list.
