Is this for established miners? or can someone who's only putting out 300Mh/s join up?

I'm here to learn and will be ever expanding.

Well I only have about 250MH/s and my invite was accepted after about a month.
Oh well, I have a few gigahash available, applied months ago and never heard anything back, not sure on the logic  Wink

Purchasing is still disabled for me. This may change in the future.

Purchasing seems enabled now!

Yep, even had some queued work finally go through. Mighty fine.

I've spent a busload of time making cgminer be nice to pools and, more so, services like gpumax, so hopefully cgminer users and gpumax alike will find a much better experience upgrading to 2.4.0:

I get the same thing 4.6GH/s when going straight to mmpool, 4-4.1GH/s through gpumax

Its fine when purchases are running

With my single 6850 I get 250MH/s going straight to mmpool and 225MH/s going through gpumax.

You guys are seeing the MH changes in your miner or just on the pool?
Just on the pool, my miners report the same speeds to both mmpool and gpumax, but mmpool reports different

mmpool's stats don't update the fastest though, so it is hard to tell where the problem is

Yea, then its not that big of a deal.  We'll work on getting it perfect down the road. Smiley

For what it's worth, those stats sound about right to me, (i.e. about 10% drop when using gpumax with no public work)
I have noticed that my gpu usage drops every now and again, and it seems to correlate to new blocks, but not always.
It does this on all 3 of my mining pc's. Dunno what it means, but it might help =D

Just out of curiosity....

Why is it that when I use GPUMAX to connect to my main pool, as a proxy service, I am penalized by up to 10% of my total hashing power as reported by my pool ?
Yet, when I connect directly to that same pool and remove GPUMAX from the equation, all stats report as they should ?
I understand that I 'Never make less than mining on my own' (when public work is available to perhaps offset my hash rate loss).but what is happening to those additional hashes ?

This is based on a study of the 6 GH/s that I am currently pointing towards GPUMAX as well as BTCGuild.

BTCGuild--->via--->GPUMAX = 5500 MH/s average reported by BTCGuild.
BTCGuild------------>Direct = 6000 MH/s average reported by BTCGuild.

Is this simply a route problem between the services ? Is this 'overhead' ?

Woohoo!  I'm finally connecting to GPUMAX with cgminer!  However, the website stopped working right now, lol.  Just in case you weren't aware I am getting:

Quote
504 Gateway Time-out

The server didn't respond in time.

Yea we did a quick port change that took the system down for a sec.  We should be good to go now.

Don't know, I do know that BTCGuild always shows a little higher speeds, have you checked it with your miner?

Not sure why people have so much difficulty with setting the price.  It's very simple

1) Go to purchase shares and you will see the purchase price

2) Subtract 10% (or multiply by .9) and you get the PPS price

3) Set your price at or below the price you calculated (setting lower will give you more headroom if purchase price fluctuate downward)

4) Profit!
